  1. I got my flares from jendoza off the web. 17x9.5 -19 on 255 45 17 with plenty of space.... I could run the 275 I'm sure. I think jendoza makes his flares a tad wider in the rear. Shots taken before I was rear ended
  2. Possible.... Price and spring rate choice is a factor.. Extended studs too. What are your rates at standard purchase?
  3. Zfever in Florida last I checked. Just do it yourself......

Sorry for your loss.... Glad you are ok.
  5. Thanks for the link.... There has been some speculation about that for some time.... I've always gone 73 or older to cover my bases. The other issue is parts..... There are quite a few of my 240Z parts that will not directly swap over to keep, rebuild costs down and the 280 is heavier. Again, thanks for the link, worst case is that I try to make a 280 work. Jim
  6. Thanks so much for the offer Keith .... I need a 73 or older to meet Cali no smog requirements, preferable a 72
  7. Thanks Richard. No adjuster to assess damage yet. Most everything out there is total rust junk.... And having a hard time getting reply's from hybrid sellers. May be pre-mature to start looking but I'm determined to put her back together one way or another.
  8. Thanks guys. Tried to go to work today but couldn't hang..... I know I will be ok, just banged up right now. As for the car, I sent my buddy who owns a body shop some pics and he thinks we can bring her back to life...... I've become kind of attached to this car so if I can, and it makes sense with respect to time and money, I'll put it back together. As always, when things are torn down and in pieces, ill make changes and upgrades to make it better than before. All this may change once I get into it, but it's hurry up and wait for now until the insurance adjuster gives me their opinion.
  9. Well....... All that hard work adds up to a pile of parts when you get rear ended at a dead stop on the highway from some chick with no insurance. I have coverage but the car is pretty bad. Centered punched in the rear. Not sure it can be fixed. My neck is killing me and I'm really bummed out. Not sure what I'm going to do yet.... Need to have a shop assess the carnage. Maybe version 2.0 or maybe I just throw in the towel. I tell my patients regularly that "every day above ground is a good day and if this is the biggest problem you have in life you're going to be ok"..... Time to heed my own words of wisdom. I'll keep you guys updated. Jim
  10. C pillar brace and rear strut tower bar..... looks good and angry street driving gives good feedback to the seat. More review once I get it on track again. Still haven't put that video together. Jim
  11. Pillow ball camber feedback..... It's a no go for my car. I wasn't happy with the set up with stock spring perches... It just wasn't right for me, so I'm sending those back.. TTT has great customer service and is cool with return. Since I have a credit with TTT I'm going to pick up the rear strut tower brace and C pillar chassis brace... Pics and reviews to follow. Jim
  12. New territory.... Somebody's gotta do it. Pull the trigger and make sure you start a build log for others to follow.. I swapped in a LS and its the most car fun I've had in years. Good luck.
  13. I'll see if I can get my daughter to you tube it.... I'm a techno dufus. Yes smokin hot! I leaned on it between runs to check for water leaks and fried myself.
  14. 062.MOV Very short but it's all the site will allow..
  15. Better pics of the strut bars, props to the shops that make us go fast..... video won't upload as usual on the HybridZ site. Can't wait to get my camber plates on. Try for video again later. Jim
  16. AuotX went well. Turn in was quicker with strut brace set up, and general steering response was improved as well. Chasis felt much stiffer from the drivers seat. The khumo V720's work great however I can't keep pace with the Hoosier A7 guys on track.... Go figure. I believe (had to leave early, daughter called from home sick) I finished 2nd in class (bested by a lotus 7 running a supercharged Buick V6) but outran a 5.0 Rx7, and a factory five turbo subie 818 (all of them full race cars)..... A good performane comparison of an LSZ was my buddies C6 vette. He runs coilovers and Hoosier A comps on a well prepped bolt on engine modded car and beat me by 2 tenths. I know I can get faster with more seat time in this set-up as this was my first autoX as the car sits now. I'll to post some video soon ... Jim Ps. New water pump kept her cool....106 degrees outside and running hard.
  17. Lost my water pump the day before racing..... 110k on the odo for LS motor so I guess that's par for the course. Dying to race so I put in a new water pump..... The things we do to go fast... LOL
  18. It's been a awhile since I checked this thread...... A quick update for CXR mounts. There have been a few comments/concerns/observations about how "high" the CXR mounts place the motor. I did some research and it does in fact appear that these mounts sit higher than most everything out there from what I can tell, which will raise the cars CG, traditionally declining the handling. The trade off is better oil pan clearance, good angulation of motor to drive line..... And I read from the monster miata crowd the LS likes a few degrees tilt in the back for oiling issues (need to research that more to be honest). I just installed my TTT triangulated strut brace (made for straight six) and I have tons of clearance..... Indicating that my LS on CXR mounts still sits lower than stock for better CG than stock, with continued pan clearance, and angulation. I'm not endorsing one kit over another, just posting my results to help future swappers make an informed choice. My .02. Jim
  19. Installed the front strut tower brace with triangulated add on....... This thing is really nice and super stout! I've heard all of the arguments regarding the effectiveness of a brace like this..... I garantee this is offering significant support to the chassis. Big thank you to techno toy tunning! I have a race this Sunday so no time to swap in the camber mounts but I will provide feedback on the bar alone. Hope to have the camber in by next race. There has been some chatter about how high the CX Racing mounts place the motor...... This bar is meant for a Z with the straight six but I have tons of clearance...... Based on this, the CXR LS1 most likely sits lower than stock, yet my F-body pan in mostly protected by the X-member. Just my .02 observation. Jim
  20. My TTT stuff arrived today... Man they make good quality stuff. I'll post pics when it's all mounted.
  21. No problem.... Sac is about 2+ hours south of redding but I'm happy to help it I can. We have a local autoX race this Sunday at the Anderson fairgrounds if you can make it. Still have not received my TTT stuff. Hopefully soon
  22. Damn...... That's just so freakin cool.
  23. These are the solid pillow ball camber mounts that allow for the use of stock spring hats and sport springs up to 1.5 neg camber.
  24. Well.... I pulled the trigger on the TTT strut tower bar and new camber kit. I'll post some pics and feedback once I get them in and on the car. Jim
  25. Some additional shots of airdam..... My motor came out of a 98 Z28... I just removed the power steering and AC pump then measured a belt to fit what was left (water pump and alternator (low mount)) Hope that helps Miata.
