  1. Well, no opinions from the community but Dave from futofab contacted me and said they are working on a "beefier" set of the WCR axles specifically designed for higher powered Z's coming out in the next few weeks. Im running futofab stuff already (most recently their adjustable TCA's which are beautiful and stout) so I'm supper stoked for this product to come to market. I'll post updates when that happens. Jim
  2. I can tell you that the CXR headers and y pipe hang very low...... lowest point on my car actually. If it was a daily driver I would switch it out but since I limit driving to grins and giggles on the street and track the car it's not a problem. I just take most driveways slow and avoid speed bumps at all costs.
  3. CV axel vote??????. Driveshaft shop or wolfcreek racing. Love to hear your thoughts..... Troy Ermish at Ermish racing says his are not LS rated and recommended Driveshaft shop instead. I know stub axle arguments already...... Just need some real words use input on the CV axle conversions. The thanks. Jim
  4. I have the CXR kit and I am very happy with it.... Allows for low mount alternator. Hokes stuff is "better"......... and I would have gone that route if cash was plentiful and they were available. "Better", however, can sometimes be subjective. My CXR stuff works great and I would not change it out for anything out there now that it's in. Personally, there are so many other upgrades to spend money on that are objectively "better", I would still buy what works well for less and spend more on parts like brakes, suspension, gauges, tires, LSD, axles, etc,etc..... that will actually matter in the performance and safety departments. The list just never quits. My .02. PS welcome to the addiction. Jim
  5. Always giving props to the community that provides us with very cool parts
  6. If not for HybridZ..... I would have never attempted my LS swap. At 50 years of age, it seems to me the younger instant gratification society of facebook et.al is popular with lookers but not participators of these types of communities. Kinda like watching sports instead of doing them.
  7. Congrats, welcome to the addiction. Jim (Trackzpeed)
  8. Cold air intake.... of sorts. I didn't want to cut up the bulkhead so I just ran the filter to the blast of air coming through the old fresh air vent location. Combined with the hood vents, I am getting a ton of cooler clean air to my intake now. Before and after pics. Jim
  9. I'm working on a cold air intake, but didn't want to lose the fresh air venting. I used heavy duty 1 1/2 vacuum pipe Into a bulkhead fitting and some black ABS to create a ram funnel to re-route the "in" box. It turned out really clean and super functional. Now I have the upper 3.5 inch hole available to complete my CAI.
  10. Installed a set of Trackspec hood vents. Car is running cooler even in 110 degree heat
  11. Good advice, I'll check into those possibles as well. Thanks Keith. Jim
  12. +1 to mikes post. I think you need to start from scratch aside from a few odds and ends.
  13. For what it's worth, if I did it again and I may still modify..... I would have run an in tank pump. Yesterday I drove to work for some grins and giggles. The car sat out in 105 heat all day and when she started the fuel pump was wheezing and buzzing hot since the fuel in the car had a hard time keeping the pump cool. I was real low on fuel so it just sat in the fuel cell stewing. After fill up and some driving she is back to normal..... But again, I wouldn't have this to worry about with an in tank pump. My .02. Jim
  14. Hey Richard..... Time to put up a build log and let these folks see the work you do. Based on our Factory Five days, your work will be a treat. Jim
  15. Keep in mind up running FI not a carb. I'd do some eyeball measurements before you order.
  16. Top end told me there brace wouldn't work with my LS1 swap so I went with techno toy tuning. I don't have a picture on hand to post but there are some in my build log that may help you guesstimate what you need. Good luck. Jim
  17. One of the other racers caught this video clip.....https://vimeo.com/218456052
  18. Bumpers are from Futofab...... Nice fit and finish and they came powder coated black. Top 4 AutoX today but sadly no video. My friend screwed up and shot 10 minutes of the ground before turning off the video for my run. Race again June 4. New suspension bits and alignment was awesome. Car sticks like glue... Very point and shoot.
