Thanks for all the information guys. I'm only running 205's atm as well with the 14's. I'm really surprised that Z's with suspension, body kits, and wider tires and wheels still wander I'm just glad that I live in southern California where the roads aren't all that bad unlike other parts of the country where snow and other weather just tears them up. I'm definitely going to check that u-joint as well now. So many parts, so little cash flow
yea, same here. stock, stock, stock...lameeeee. I really don't think I'll be even considering bumper mods until I'm out of college and can put the Z off as a project and not a dd. Interesting about the valence though.
haha, wow! you're crazier than me! dang it!!
yea, i've done the tie rod and rack bushings but it's starting to get wobbly again...i drove 70 miles yesterday with speeds all over the board and while there was some wind out, there was definitely some wobble....I'm thinking that my ball joints needs to be replaced...as well as the rest of the decaying bushings
haha, nice. I've had mine up to 115....before the bushings
i couldn't let the wrx next to me have too much fun haha. my plans for this next summer are to get springs, struts, and all the bushings replaced. if i have some extra dough, then i'm doing the sway bars as well woo!!
I had the same problem last month...well, for the past year really lol. Around town it was fine but on the freeway it felt like wind was blowing me around too. so i took it to get it aligned and they said it was the tie rod and steering rack bushings. I got some poly's put on there and it handles MUCH better. I'd check your rack as well as the tie rods which you're already looking into. Took a lot of play out of the steering but it's still a little wobbly here and there. goodluck!
I only have my '78 Z
As for dd amenities, it has a/c, heat, seat belts, 4 good tires, squeaky brakes, suspension is long overdue for an overhaul, twice pipes, and a 360 watt stereo to make sure that if I wasn't going deaf before, I will now
Oh yea, I can totally hear mine. I haven't turned it past 12 and it goes to 30 lol. It's LOUD! And I can say it's loud running twice pipes....with my setup I can only feel the exhaust...not really hear it haha.
I'm a redhead....lol.
I'm running 2 Infinity Reference 3 ways in the msa box with an Infinity Reference 475A powering them and they are CRYSTAL CLEAR! Techno and rock sound wicked. Bass is lacking though...I need a sub
Hey! I was wondering how the speaker box is working out for you. I have the same MSA box with 2 Infinity 6x9's. I believe you have the same setup as I do, mine are jus the 3 way instead of the 2. Anywho, how is your bass? I'm running an amp to the speakers with about 80 watts each and the bass still seems to "flutter" out on songs with extra lows. I would think that it would only do that if it wasn't getting adequate power. Could it also be the HU? It's just some crappy JVC with a very limited EQ.
Anyways, I just thought I'd ask
Love the color on your Z btw. Utterly gorgeous!
I would be surprised if anyone got more than 25 or so from an exhaust setup. now, TURBO is a different thing altogether but N/A, not going to happen. Especially on the L28
1977 280z was my first car....well technically it was a '92 camry that was the family's extra car but the Z was the first car i bought. $2250 got me a Z with rusted rockers, fake bullet holes in the left rear quarter and a license plate that read "NCC1708" yea....the owner, like me, is a star trek fan
