  1. That is the exact reason my family moved out here from Boston. Too much weather back there!! Haha. 75 and not a cloud in the sky today
  2. Hey everyone, As the title states I'm looking to either straight up trade my Z for yours but am completely open to trade + cash on either end. I've come to the conclusion that it really isn't worth it to try and go through a referee station to attempt and legalize a L28t swap which is ultimately the direction I'd like to go. Little information on the car. I'm the third or fourth owner of this California only Z. It has blue plates and all the smog junk to prove it. Yuck! It just turned over 110k on the odometer the other day while on a beach cruise. The car itself runs almost perfect. Definitely a great candidate for a dd and has been mine for over a year and a half. I bought it back in Feb. 2008 in Sacramento from a guy who had owned it for 3-4 years but had only put 500 or so miles on it. Put on some new tires and drove it down to Orange, Ca with not a problem or quirk. What I've replaced: -Front brake rotors are from MSA and are the vented and slotted with new pads. Done March 2008 -New urethane bushings for the steering rack and tie rods. The others are in need of replacement but the steering is pretty tight. Body roll is due to the other bushings plus a combo of spring and strut need -Twice pipes. Done July 2008. Sounds great! -Tune up. New plugs, wires, cap and rotor. -August 2008 -Interior: Dash mat (the cool carpet kind ) -Infinity 3 ways in the MSA box with an Infinity Reference 475a amplifier. Sounds great and the bass is amazing! -New inner shift boot. Has original brake and shift leather boots. Could use replacing but they were fine for me. As I said earlier, the car could use springs, struts, and bushings for the suspension. If I don't trade or sell the Z I will ultimately do it. For now it's fine as I don't autocross...yet. The interior is is decent shape with the drivers seat showing a couple rips and the passenger seat looking flawless. The rear carpet is semi faded but is still soft. It could be dyed but I'm not a perfectionist and it never really bothered me. Being a college student could have something to do with it The paint is not original but is a very decent repaint of the original 611 Wine Red color. Shines great in the sun but could use a claybar session. I waxed it right before the MSA show this spring and it's already faded again on the roof. Rust: One small patch on the passenger rear rocker. Hasn't gone through. Small spots on the cowl panel and on the seam of the quarter windows. All seals do not leak but are original. As long as it didn't leak I wasn't going to replace it with the MSA junk. I will add more pictures this week but I figure this add will be up for awhile since finding Z's are always a hit or miss and I want to get the ad up. Any other questions, just ask. Any specific pictures? Just ask. My name is Rafe and my number is 951-526-5312. Thanks for the time!
  3. It'd be nice if they included more pictures too
  4. Sounds good Josh! The paint looks good in the video and I'm sure once you wetsand it it'll really shine And keep the stereo. There's two types of music you get from a Z. One is from whatever stereo setup you have, and the other is from that lovely L28, or L31 in your case
  5. I've always wondered how those worked....
  6. That's awesome haha. I'd actually consider doing it
  7. I'm on 3 but really only on hybridz these days. The other two are: supramania.com and mr2oc.com
  8. Omg HAHAHAHAHA!!! I skimmed all 43 pages....that is the most epic thread I've ever read
  9. the middle is the most recent. might have to get a trim for summer
  10. Agreed. Sun=evil entity that destroys cars dashes. Haha. I'm just lazy and covered mine with the soft carpet dash mat. I kinda like it and there's no glare
  11. Alrighty. I'm back down in Temecula from the 22-29 but after that I'm back in Orange and I have some other car oriented friends that I'm sure wouldn't mind helping as well. Just pm me when you want to do this and I'm down.
  12. Sounds like a plan to me. My parents were kinda along those same lines and I can tell it worked like a charm. They said, "So, you're gonna be 16 soon...want a car??" Me.." YES!" They responded with, " Then get a job." Haha. I drove a '92 Camry around for 6 months before getting my first Z. Haven't gotten into an accident (or a ditch) yet! *Knocks on wood*
  13. Well I actually go to school at chapman so i'm right in orange haha. when are you doing this because i'm smack dab in the middle of finals
  14. I highly doubt that there will be an annoying drone after all that sound deadening but if so I'd say go the route of modifying the exhaust instead of adding more weight.
  15. my 2 Z's have smelled the same too....i'm a fan
  16. I'm right down the street from ya! I've never done a dash cap before tho
  17. That is one CLEAN ZX. What you want to do with it is totally up to you. If it were me, I'd be thankful that it was preserved so well and that hopefully there won't be need for rust repair, engine repair, interior re-upholster etc and start the process of making it my own. Wheels, tint, stereo, springs, exhaust, and then maybe think about a turbo swap. You can do all those things tastefully and not destroy the car but what you do with it is totally up to you. It's pretty sweet as is so you're already off to a great start
  18. mine are 2 1/4 but they aren't true twice pipes since they have a 2 1/2 collector...
  19. Haha this is true. I was referring more to what the others before I were discussing. Things like the intake and fan. They won't do a whole lot for a stock L28. Now if your engine is ported, compression increased, etc. it might do a little more .
  20. yea I've seen that once several times and saw it the other night at star trek as well. It's pretty good imo. I think it'd be better if they posted some numbers on it though. 4.7 0-60 time is impressive in my book!
