  1. Shoot, I WISH it was just for a winter! I'm in Korea for a year, so no Z for a while. 245's all the way around FYI.
  2. Just the bolt, took about 45 minutes to do, but it's possible. Unfortunately I'm not in the area. I had to store the Z for a year while I enjoy duty in southeast Asia lol
  3. I got mine in from laying in my back and dimpling the plastic air tube that's in the way. Definitely beats pulling the whole dash
  4. I rattle canned mine, didn't come out too bad.. Just sayin
  5. Before: Latest "during" pics, right before I put her into storage for a while. More pics here: http://s100.photobucket.com/albums/m22/poundz9oh9/Z Car
  6. I have the GC units, and plan on getting weld in ones instead
  7. That's about it for now, but will definitely have more to follow! Next plans are: Remove rear sway bar Big brakes all the way around CV Shaft upgrade Have the r200 rebuilt with all New bearings/LSD installed New seat foam/leather covers Weld in camber plates Front/rear strut tower braces THEN, I'll shift my focus to sourcing everything for my motor swap, which should take a while. I think I decided on an LSA/6 speed combo. Yes, it's overkill, but will be totally worth it! Once I get the New motor and transmission installed, I'll turn around and remove it for engine compartment prep and then have all the bodywork and paint done asking with some New frame rails. Reinstall engine/transmission and then drive the piss out of it!!!
  8. Well, it's been a long time coming. I replaced a lot of things to help with it's reliability and just finished it all up only a couple days before I had to store it. The new additions consisted of: New alternator New voltage regulator New ignition switch New stock coil and ballast New ignition switch New thermotime switch New water temperature sensor New muffler New AFM New PCV valve New FPR New aux air injector New Nissan fender mirrors I still have a ways to go as far as I'm concerned, but this is a good start as far as I'm concerned Now for the pics.
  9. Yes that's the TPS, I'd recommend just sourcing one at s JY if you have any in your area. You don't won't to leave that exposed it'll potentially corrode up the contacts and leave your car running poorly.
  10. http://www.zcar.com/forum/15-cars-sale-1970-83-240z-260z-280z-280zx/330985-74-260z-sale.html Charlotte, MI. Looks like a good one.
  11. I've found that even beyond Z's Googling automotive searches end up here for the shear fact that's there's soooo much information with regard to automotive customization on all aspects! It truly is a gold mine!
  12. At a quick glance, I'd say there's room for mag ones.
  13. Ok I lied, they're on my computer will post some as soon as I get to it
  14. Mine is satin black with white interior. I love it! Posting pics in a sec.
  15. Thanks much zentech, I'll know today off I'll need it!
  16. I appreciate the help guys, will hit the yard in the morning to see what I can find. I really can't believe there's no new ones out there!
  17. I hadn't looked at it, but the car will start and idle until about 1100rpms. Anything past that it would fall on it's face. I limped it to the shop that I was taking the car to anyway (getting exhaust welded up) and just gave them that issue too. The tech tested the part IAW the FSM and identified that it fails at anything above idle. Normally I'd play with it a bit, but I'm out of time, this car is going into DD status next week. I'm HOPING that the one 280Z listed at the salvage yard still has it on it (and that it's good) to get me back up and running
  18. I have a lead on one, I'll have to check in the AM. It's the only 280z on a yard here in town ... never thought finding one would be this hard to find.
  19. Title says it all! The one on my car failed (77 280z) and NONE of the parts sources I've checked have one! Does anybody have one that's good or can tell me where I can find one new? Car left me stranded, had to tow it to a shop and now I just need this to get the car outta there!
  20. I'm actually going to get my windshield tinted to keep my dash uncracked. Something very light, just enough to keep the UV light out, with a slight tint to keep it a little shaded. I'll take my chance with LE
  21. I know this is an old thread, but I think this article made me abandon my lsx/t56 ambitions in favor of a very well built l28et!!
