  1. I was moreso looking for a better price than the 1,000 from Racinglab, not necessarily the gold, but they ARE nice!. I tried contacting Kim myself and got nothing back. Is racinglab the only option these days?
  2. Wanna sell that set by chance? I'm ready to buy NOW
  3. They both are, that's why I'm not understanding where he's coming from ...
  4. I've never had any issues with them from what I recall, and if I did, the warranty took care of it .. It's cheaper stuff, but no issues here so far.
  5. Oooooooh by no means was it going to stop me, I just wanted to make sure I want missing anything. I HATE getting to a point in a project when I'm at a standstill waiting for a part that I hadn't thought about until it was too late. Thanks again for the help guys, saved me a little cash probably ..
  6. Awesome, good info! .... I definitely will roll with what i've got then .. I just didn't want to get into a position to have everything bolted up and then find out later something wasn't going to work. Thanks for the help guys!
  7. Can you shoot me a pic of it by chance?
  8. Gotcha, now not ever seeing them side by side myself or even being able to find any pictures to look at, is that the only difference? If that's the case then in theory I could just re-use the two piece auto one and it would still work for the manual set up yes?
  9. getting ready to start bolting up my 78 5 speed transmission to my 77 after pulling the auto. I noticed on all the swap threads I can find, it suggest getting the backing plate from a manual setup to replace to one from the auto setup. But my question is ... what's the exact difference between the two? Can I trim the auto one in any way to make it fit the manual setup? Any info is appreciated guys!
  10. Got any pics? I don't really know what these go for, I know it's a ten dollar part at pick and pull, just haven't had the time to go grab one ... 20+ shipping?
  11. Looking for the rear engine (backing/sandwich) plate for my auto to manual swap on my 280z. Somebody's got one, help me out guys!
  12. OK, so .. Here's what she looked like as of last night ... I came down with a bit of the "While I'm at it" syndrome ... Door panels are still out waiting to be finished off with some good locks. Went to the local pick and pull and grabbed some lock parts and will get to making SOMETHING work hopefully this week. It gave me a reason to hit the pick and pull anyway, just to browse and I ended up grabbing some chrome trim pieces and a 2 speed Taurus electric fan .. score! I also ordered a urethane front air dam .. so off goes the front bumper and and all the hardware for it. So, what brings me to this point as seen in the pic ... I saw that somebody was looking for a R180 replacement over on .com so I offered it up (figuring it'd give me reason the swap in one of the R200's I've got in the garage with my technoversions mount if I went ahead and took the R180 out.) Then as I was laying there looking at the drivehaft, I went ahead and pulled it out just for inspection. Well, that led me to pulling the auto tranny out, because hell .. I was planning on swapping in the 5 speed as well. Then of course the oil pan gasket needs to be changed as well, so I'll pull that out .. While I'm at it .. get it ?? Soooooo, long story short .. No rear end, no transmission (w/linkage, lines, MC, starter etc ...), and about to pull the pan off to change that gasket. ... oh yeah, and I need to do a little sheet metal trimming and POR-15'ing while the fenders are off as well !!! Ugh .. I HATE it !! But I LOVE IT!!!! Cheers!
  13. I've got some that aren't perfect .. but they're cheap .. I'd send them to ya for $20+actual shipping .. otherwise I'll probably just toss them in favor of an air dam .. lol
  14. I'll be running ZG's when I get to that point Still completely undecided on wheels though, just have my eyes on a few different sets really .. That's just one of them .. can't seem to make up my mind though, but I have time .. Paypal is mfaubus@gmail.com .. And I can get that stuff out within 48 hours or so. Side note, wanna buy a house? Lol ... I got one on the eastern side of GSO that I need to off load ..lol (Jk)
  15. Got everything you need, motor guaranteed to work .. Say $75 shipped ?
  16. Copy - Schmopy I'm sure the orignals are good sheet, but the chances of you damaging most wheels ("real" or not) are slim regardless. And if you DO happen to damage one, you have the money to replace it because you saved on the inital cost. Don't buy them just because you want to tell somebody you have the "real" wheels for the "wow" factor; makes us look like teenagers flaunting our latest Jordans. Buy your cheapies if that's what you want and spend what you saved on other mods. But to each their own. If you've got the extra desire and cash to dump the extra money .. by all means do it!
  17. Yeah, because the real ones are always worth the cost ... As far as I'm concerned, if it looks good, fits good, performs well and suits your needs, do it! No need to spend thousands on wheels when there's a cheaper alternative. Especially if it's a street driven only car and you're not going to be pushing them to the limits of their capabilities.
