Including the price of the car .....$10,000 and I really haven't accomplished much yet. More prep than anything.......

Temporarily that is............ I go to get an exhaust hanger welded up after it pulled loose from the frame. I take it to a small exhaust shop right around the corner of my house. An older guy who owns the place is the only person I ever see there. I drive up thinking 10 minutes tops, hand him the keys and watch him tear the MSA Aero air damn off of the front of the car when pulling it onto the lift. And this is after I told him it's kinda low. Now, he tells me "all I can do is pay for it". And, I'm thinking, that's kinda cool that he offered to do that without any hassle. He tells me to go get an estimate and he'll pay me for it. I went into town and got a few estimates, bring them back to have him tell me "well, I'm not paying that, there's no more than a couple hundred bucks damage. I'll let my insurance handle it." All that because my high estimate was about $1,000 and the low was about $900. Needless to say the insurance company was cool, and after a week after they sent their adjuster out (two weeks after the incident) I get a check in the mail for about $900. So, here I am.....dropped off the Z at the body shop and have nothing to tinker with until next friday. I'm bored. Sorry for the long post, but remember I don't have my car to eat up my time. Maybe I'll go tear apart the rust bucket 73 parts car sitting in my yard.....Blah

How do I get rid of them?? At first I thought I'd be able to go to the signature block and just get rid of the URL links, but I didn't even see them there. I looked all over and can't figure out how to get rid of them. HELP!!! I'm tired of looking at them, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

yeah, I had the same thing happen to me. It'll only give the "bad guys" your password if you use the link in your email to the supposed paypal website. Paypals website is a secure connection and and begins with https://.............. The fraudulent website might say something that resembels paypal or even looks a lot like it but won't have the secure connection. Best way to avaoid any hassle.......don't follow an email link to paypal, manually go to paypal site..

I know a way to get the flat spots off of the rear tires if you have enough horsepower

Well.... not really going for the typical "classic" look... More like a Ferrari-esque rear end.... It'll go well with the rest of the body work. I've just been undecided on the rear wing though...

Well going to the airport wouldn't be a problem, but it seems that all these blood sucking trucking and freight companies want your first born AND the kitchen sink to ship 30lbs (ish) worth of stuff just because the dimensions are big. Anyway, it seems like UPS was the best way to go compared to the local companies here. Thanks again guys.

Hey guys, I have a fiberglass cowled hood that I need to ship out and I was just looking up quotes and was kinda surprised at what I found. UPS will take it for $107 (ish), FedEx won't ground ship it unless I go FedEx freight , and they want $228 (ish), and the USPS won't take it. Has anybody ever shipped a hood before, and how did you go about doing it? These shipping quotes seem kinda high, is that what I should expect?? TIA!! Marcus

Thanks Mike, I emailed them too -- our emails probably were received at the same sitting. I just wanted to see if we had any non-biased oppinions from here.

On a JTR SBC install?? It looks like it's a pretty strudy setup and I need to do some strengthening before I transplant the 400hp motor I'm getting. I just wanted to see if anybody has this setup and if there was any modification needed to do it. Also, do you think the front and rear strut brace would be enough to reduce the body flex with a 400hp motor or should I add something else. The car will mostly be used as a weekened/show car with only a little light to light action every once in a while...... TIA guys Marcus

In the past 12 years since I've been driving legally I have to say that I've never found myself in these types of situations. Not because I've never parked in front of peoples houses, it's just never happened. I must say though, that I applaud the way you guys have handled yourselves, I myself am fortunate not to find myself in that predicament, I'm usually not the friendliest person when dealing ignorance.

Ok, production date is 2/87, the car is white with tan leather interior but the guy doesn't know if it's the special edition or not. I'm assuming that wouldn't be possible to not know if it were a special edition considering that there would be badges stating it everywhere , am I right? Marcus

Hey guys, I got this car I'm looking at but can't go see it in person yet and want to know if it's even worth my time as I only need some misc parts from it. It's an 87 300ZXT 5sp and the VIN is JN1CZ14S9HX1S2367. Does this thing have the LSD underneath it? I thought I read somewhere that only 4/87 and up had the LSD. I know VB has the VIN decoder in it but I don't have my books here with me where I'm at. Can anybody shed some light on this for me? TIA!! Marcus
