  1. For my best friends niece, he helped raise this girl and is devastated. They were very close. News report and video http://www.wapt.com/news/16165131/detail.html
  2. Happy B day buddy, now go get drunk.
  3. Well, I test drove just about everything out there and my insurance company settled with us on Monday for $6500 over what I owed on the Magnum. I just could not pass this one up. 2008 Frontier, SE CrewCab, Long Bed, 4x4. It was a unwind with 67 miles on it, I got a smokin deal through a friend of mine. Dan
  4. Yup, Nissan has some pretty nice rebates on the Titan and the Frontier right now, I went down and checked them both out. The Frontier Crew Cab has allot more room inside than I expected and that 4.0 V6 has some balls. Almost makes it as cheap as buying a used truck.
  5. Well it looks like my wifes Magnum is not going to show up so I need to start shopping for a new truck. Insurance company will settle with us early next week unless it shows up before then. I have decided that what would be best for us is a full size crew cab truck. We cannot afford new so we are looking at 2006 - 2007 models. I have narrowed it down to 3 makes and would appreciate anyone who ones either what their opinion is: Toyota Tundra Nissan Titan Dodge Ram Thanks, Dan
  6. Bought time. Although I am having a hard time believing that they can improve on the original.
  7. Thanks Greg! Very good info starting to come out of this thread.
  8. I was wondering the same thing, also if you read this technical overview http://media.gm.com/division/powertrain/news/4200_Tech.pdf they talk about metal powder forged rods... are these strong?
  9. Cool Ron, thanks. Yup, custom hood for sure or move the engine back a few inches or for the brave lower the engine or a combination of all. Oh, and new crossmember for sure!
  10. My friend who manages a autobody shop just called me from work and said they got a trailblazer come in with the 4.2 I6. He pulled some tape on it: From the front of the water pump pulley to the front of the bell housing 32 inches Widest part of the engine with the power steering pump 27 inches Top of the front of the valve cover to the bottom of the crank pulley 24 inches Top of the front of the valve cover to the bottom of the oil pan 30 inches.
  11. My only hangup would be the overall height of this motor. So far the only info I have is from a 3rd Gen Camaro site. "Here's a little information about swapping the new 4200 Vortec inline six that I pulled from Hot Rod (August 2002) The height of this block is 32.62", which will probably require some sort of custom hood. Length is 32.86", making it roughly 3 inches longer than a V8. The 3 inches would probably not pose too big of a problem." What the heck does "height of block" mean? The front of the valve looks real tall and our S30's hood slopes downward toward the front... allot. I6 I5
  12. True, the auto trans is / was standard on all 3.5 tucks but I swear I have seen some older But then again I saw some listed with V6's
  13. Not very common but yes I have seen some. Searching for the transmission here http://car-part.com/ and see what engine it was attached to.
  14. I mentioned the same thing to the Police officer since there was no broken glass and it was locked etc, he looked and me and said "you would be amazed at what some of these guys can do..."
  15. It's a long shot but what the heck. My wife's 2005 Dodge Magnum RT was stolen from our driveway last Monday. This is bad thing to happen to us right now so if anyone in the SD area sees one that looks like it the license plate number is 5NBS895 or you can send me a PM with the location and I will go check it out. Not sure if it is in Mexico or just abandoned on the side of a road right now. Here is a pic: Thanks much, Dan
  16. Same here, I bought this reamer set: http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=525 And this gauge set: http://www.cbperformance.com/catalog.asp?ProductID=524 Fairly cheap as I recall and works great, unfortunately looks like they are out of stock right now.
  17. Ok, it looks like the upgrade is complete. Only a few minor problems with the Photo Album that required upgrading it to a newer version. I will be keeping a close eye on it over the next few days but I would greatly appreciate any feedback both positive or any noted problems/glitches you guys may have. If you see any problems etc please let me know in this thread. Thanks! Dan
  18. The server has not been upgraded yet. This has been an ongoing but random problem for some time now made worse by the fact that I a using some file sync software in preparation to move the server today... maybe.
  19. Or maybe, just maybe, Dan moved the email services over to the new server the other day and forgot to configure the forum to point to it.......... Naaah!
