  1. Looking for a rear lower control arm for a 280zx with old style brakes. Located in Sacramento, local would be preferable but if need to ship, that's fine too. Thanks!
  2. I have a couple spare turbo distributors and drive gears. I'll PM you
  3. Which side do you need? I have a few good fenders around.
  4. My brother used to have blacked out tails ('82-'83 style) on his Z. The paint was OD green, looked pretty rad. I can probably find a pic when I get home.
  5. Longer piping will cause a pressure drop for example your turbo will be boosting 7psi, but when it reaches the intake manifold, it's only 5psi. You also have a potential for temperature increases as the longer the air is in the pipes, the longer it has to warm up.
  6. I have an ECU, distributor, oil pump, J Tube, and a the AFM to Turbo boot if you need.
  7. I dunno, I think the drill I was using kinda sucked..
  8. I would recommend not putting poly bushings on the tension rods if you are lowering the car. I snapped about 3 of them... You can use one poly and one rubber or you can get some tension rods from Techno Toy Tuning.
  9. Any loose front end parts will cause a wandering like you're describing. Check out your bushings, mainly the tension rod bushings as they can cause the caster to change if they are worn out.
  10. If you can't get the dizzy to advance enough, you might have the drive gear off a tooth or something. Did you take out the oil pump?
  11. Not sure if this is where to put this information, but I'll give it a shot. On Stockton Blvd. in Sacramento, there is a '81 280ZX at picknpull. Blue/Silver. Has louvers, almost perfect gray/silver interior, and an UNCRACKED blue dash covered up with a little carpet. Motor is almost all there, no tranny though. I don't need anything off it, but I'd rather see the parts go to good use than see it get crushed Hope this helps out some of you.
  12. 3" hole saw for the win! Takes forever though... And they ain't cheap.
  13. Um, the fuel pressure should be a lot higher than that, I think the with regulator unplugged it should be about 38-40psi. Sounds like your fuel pump might be failing. Also, the engine should pull about 20in of vacuum at idle. You must have a vacuum leak somewhere. A plugged exhaust will also cause low vacuum readings. Hope this helps!
  14. I've got a spare ECU and and 82-83 turbo dizzy if you need them.
  15. If it really is a Tomei head, that alone is worth some money..
  16. Yeah water under the cap is most likely the cause. I'd also try unplugging connectors in your engine harness and gently blow them out with some air. When it's really humid or wet, water can cause high resistance between the connections. Try the same with the ECU connectors in case you have any leaks inside the car.
  17. One of my friends is using MR2 electric power steering pump on his Volvo 242, and it works pretty well. Not much draw on the engine compared to a pulley and you can mount it anywhere you want as long as you get lines to fit.
  18. Looks pretty normal. Probably burning some oil. What do the bearings look like?
  19. ^^ they are definitely worth it. No deflection at all, and gives you all the caster adjustment you'd ever want. They sell 'em for $200 a set.
  20. post 100! Now getting to the better stuff I had these urethane tension rod bushings... One day, I'm driving down the freeway, hit a slight bump, and I see something fly off the back of my car. No big deal right? As I exit the freeway and come to a stop, the car pulls insanely hard to one side. Oh ****... I look around when I get home, find nothing wrong. Jack it up, look at the brakes, still nothing. Then I find this. The tension rod had sheared off right where it necks down for the bushings. So I go get a new one from the junkyard, and I had an extra set of urethane bushings lying around. I installed them and went on my merry way. A few weeks later, the other side snaps. Great. Same deal there, no other thoughts about it. I snapped probably 3 more tension rods before I'd had enough. I knew Techno Toy Tuning had some fancy ones with heim joints for the S30 chassis. I called up Gabe and asked if they had any for the ZX. Turns out, they didn't. He asked me if I could send him a stock one and some pictures so he could get all the dimensions right. A couple weeks later, he sends me the first ever set to put on my car for free! I took it to my brothers workplace to get it on the alignment rack so we could measure the minimum and maximum caster adjustments you can get out of these baby's, then relayed the information back to techno toy tuning. Pretty awesome deal! I can't seem to find a picture of them in the car at the moment, but I know there is one kicking around somewhere.
  21. My markers are blacked out, it looks really mean. I want to do the hatch and windshield trim soon, but need to find some blackout tape or something. My brother also had blacked out tails on a OD green zx and those looked really good.
