Nice job man, it's good to see all the effort you put into it. Keep it up! -
Nothin' wrong with that!

To me, this sounds like a parent that is in denial about their demon child's behavior in school... I can see the scenario play out right now... little Billy bit a kid during recess, and the teacher reprimanded him with a swat to the butt. Little Billy, never having been reprimanded like that before, went home to cry to mommy. Well, she comes in to the school the next day, furious about the alleged child abuse situation. When the teacher told the mother what Billy did, the mother asked the teacher if she tried redirecting his aggression by distracting him with something else instead of physically scolding him. Long story short, Billy grows up biting kids until he becomes a permanent resident of the penal housing system. The point is, if you help those who act in a way that is contradictory to the laws and rules set by a society by not showing them what they are doing is wrong, you are going to have repeat offenders, no matter what helpful, nurturing things you do.

Yea, they aren't really motivated to update their pricing. I bought some doglegs from them, and they had their original pricing of $45, turned out to be more like $75 each after I placed the order. That was over six months ago. I highly doubt they are going to fix it.

Ron, what happened with the CF version of the project? Was it scrapped for a different design?

It's looking good! What is your planned time-line for getting it on the road? BTW, I love your engine, it has an awesome look. Do you know what color you are going with for the car yet?

Sent you a PM earlier, let me know.

Looking for a 280z voltmeter/fuel gauge to swap into my 240z. The face must be in good condition with no scratches or missing paint. Willing to paypal cash, or I can also trade. I have a bunch of random parts, so if you have a need and you have a voltmeter, let me know. Thanks! FOUND, thanks guys!

To piggyback on your thought, Carjway, it really is laziness, not a lack of aptitude. Most of the incoherent thoughts that get posted are usually along the lines of "can you is 240z shocks be the how install" are people not thinking about what they post, are posting using their new iPhone, and have taken twenty minutes out of their day to realize they have some information they want, become a member of this cool new HybridZ site, and post away expecting clear, concise directions on what they need to do to have the ultimate Z in no time at all. It's the age of instant gratification. We can have anything we want, do almost nothing to get it, and it can be overnight shipped to our door. Why should knowledge and experience be any different to them? Once those guys realize we don't play around like that on HybridZ, they follow up with a much better post that seems to have an element of grammar, clarity and real life expectation that is expected by the rest of us. It's not that most of the people that come to this site are stupid, they are just lazy and don't think.

Tony, you do realize that you are the internet version of the "greasy mean looking old SOB that looked like a serial killer", right? Somehow over the web you have managed to carry on the tradition of making people feel like they got a virtual lug nut to the forehead when they ask stupid questions By the way I agree with everything, and I'm glad we have people like you to help intelligently put people in their rightful place.

I don't blame you. Advice for Rottenhope: Proofread, and make sure it makes sense once it's out of your head. I'm sure it made sense when you went to type it, but you have way too many words that don't match up grammatically. Also, do a lot of research, A LOT of it. If you find that the website search function isn't working like you would like it to, google search has a function to search within a website, use the forums.hybridz.org in an advanced search.

Hoov made a good illustration. A lot of newcomers are guilty of not following the rules of the forum, and that extra, unnecessary traffic on the site tends to clog the search function for the rest of us. That clogging is the reason most people have the reaction they do. As the mods will tell you, this site is intended as a resource for performance and design/function enhancing modifications, and all things related, not beginner troubleshooting, advice and fact-finding. Take the brakes and suspension sub-forum. With all of the modifications and technical discussions that go on in there, what do you think people feel when someone comes on the scene, and their first post to the forum (after having joined 30 minutes earlier) is titled "Springs", and in the body of the message they ask, "what kind of springs can I use on my 280z?"

1972 240z SBC V8 and complete restoration project

I'll get some good close ups of the lizard skin too. There is some over spray from the primer, but I know some areas still look like it did when I sprayed it. One thing that we found was that nothing sticks to the lizard skin for some reason. Masking tape, painter's tape, even duct tape doesn't stick for very long. It might be because of the texture. You will see what I'm talking about when I get those close ups. I didn't use lizard skin for the undercoat, I used Duplicolor professional rubberized undercoating/sound deadening spray. I sampled a few different ones, and I like it the most because it had the most flexibility, stayed dark (didn't turn light gray like others) and seemed to be the most rubberized. If you spray it in layers it goes on really nice. -
