that sounds like good ideal for the tach, at the time i had wanted to keep the original tach in place, but if it will fit where the original tach goes, then i will just drop in, then there will be no need for me to have two tachometers

I made the custom intake myself, growing up in ct I spent a lot of early years of life running back in forth to the bob sharp racing shop which was in wilton, back then you could get to see lots of custom race modifications, and at one event i once had the opportunity to check out the electromotive 280zx turbo gto race car which had a very interesting intake design which was actually a two piece design, as with other race cars other manufactures, so what you see is two piece design with the intake boots, larger intake runners and so on.

the camber plates are from carrera, they are not around anymore and they where bought out by another firm and no longer have those type of camber plates, some of the older bob sharp racing 240z's have these same camber plates

I just thought that I would post this photo of my gauges that had been mounted inside of some abs tubing, I could not find a pod setup that would mount into my 72 240z so I got and ideal to use abs tubing and it worked out pretty well, so if you need some ideals for mounting those gauges abs tubing works great.

sorry for the late delay zmanco this unit is actually a older tilton dual master cyclinder that I had on some old aluminum lockheed reservoirs, i replaced the older lockheeds for a newer style type of reservoir and i had to do some custom fabrication to make the bracket fit for my 240z application, here are some closeup photos before and after.

im working on my 240z headlight setup because the low beams would not turn on, i noticed that my dimmer switch for the illumination was not working right, could this be one of the issues why my low beam lights are not working, and why im at it are the low beam lights supposed to deactivate when i turn on the high beams.

i have a 72 240z and im using the mm cv adapters, the driver side of the rearend was a tight fit and when you install the cv shafts you can still leave the caps on they will compress when you start to tighten the bolts, but the driverside will be a real tight fit, but it will go on with a little muscle work, I will see if I can post some photos.

how did you get that baby for free
-
boy if my baby was stolen and I found out who stole it, hybridz would probably be getting my emails from the state pen, me and my old pal smith and wesson dont take kindly to people taking other peoples property as specially my 240z, and on that note it looks like your z can be brought back to health, and its great that you got your engine back, all you need is a little time and patience and it will be on its way to recovery.

im going to go up a little more on the firewall since you mentioned that the engine bay could get a little noisy, as for the rear deck ive got that in check, and got the matting around the spare tire cavity and wheel well area.

I have finally finished dynamating the car with dynamat extreme, 2 layer process. I have already started installing the 5 point harness and im also running the wires for my car audio system and the lines and hoses for my boost gauge and my nos bottles the car audio arrangement is going to be a real killer when I am finished, I have about another 6 hours of work on that to be completed.

lololololololololol man you made me change my mind about staying out of the garage, but on a serious note there has to be a balance if you are in a relationship and its even better when you find a women that shares your passion for cars, I once had a girlfriend that loved driving and working on my zcars, but thats very rare.

I purchased my wheels from overseas, from Image wheels located in great britian these wheels where made to my own specs and offset, the only downside is that there is a 8 week turnaround period to receive the wheels, but he has many designs, just look up image wheels the owners name is harry, and he is a real nice guy and will assist you on the proper offset. im running 17x8" front and 17x11" 1/2 in the rears, front has a 0 deg offset the rear i have 6" of lip and a 5" backspace and I donot need any spacers.

you need to check afm, when I had the turbo 280zx that would be one of the symptoms. are it be the ignition system, and like bay area stated check your fuel pressure, this what I would do is make the afm is alright and if that checks out, then what I would do when it warms up get a small spray bottle and put some gas in the bottle and spray the mist of fuel into the air filter cavity and rev the throttle linkage meaning give it some gas and if it does not backfire when you apply the mist spray of fuel that means your fuel pressure maybe low and leaning out, but i truly think its the afm are ignition

Hello everyone im back, I installed the Spal window regulators, it has to be the most easiet aftermarket install that I have ever performed, and here is a couple of photos.
-
I would like to thank everyone of you guys for some great input, and I have decided not to install the doorlocks, but I did install the electric power windows and they work great. I will post the photos of the work that im doing and I should be all done by the end of next week, im about to install the dynamat sound deadening material and I will also give you a glimpse of my monster sound system that I will be installing, and you can best believe me when I tell you it will have the hp to match, turbonetics hp of course"

I just thought that I would post this thread about the thought of installing door locks, I purchased the kit and now im even having doubts about installing these locks, the thought of having doors locks was fun, but when I really got to get ready to install the electric door locks I started to say what am I doing, this is suppose to be vintage sports car without all of the luxurys of the present, I dont mind the electric windows but hey even the ferrari f40 doesnt even have electric windows and I doubt if it even has electric door locks, So I have made the decision not to install these electric door locks for now. all of the HYBRIDZ members are welcomed to leave there thoughts on adding to much to a vehicle that was made perfect from the begining.

Mustache bar bushings 240z
ozzinc replied to kcambron's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
no not if you are using the aftermarket set of poly bushings, they come with everything you need to install them on your mustache bar including 4 large washers in replacement of the v shaped ridge top and bottom washers.
