  1. looking at my z haynes book, the tack is directly connected to the ignition swtich. May look at another "hot" source for the tack.
  2. I mounted my Fuse block last night, i mounted the plate that came with the kit where the stock ignition modue was on my 260. Some of the wires for the combo switch look as though they will be very close to being short. All my wiring is pulled, easy enough, and now just have to go through and connect everything. Not so easy... In reveiwing the wiring diagrams in the haynes manual, the stock stuff was worse than I thought. Lots of redudnand, complicated, no-nonsence couplings. Of course, I don't really understand too much of it any way, so you can take what you want from me. I'm glad I went with the painless kit so far... Does anyone have a source for better electronic schematics? In the Haynes Manual, the diagrams for the 260 are so small that you can't read anything. So going off of the late 240, which I know is not the same, but should be close right? Any help with this would be greatly appretiated. .
  3. There is a company in Texas somewhere that makes small intercoolers that use freon as it's cooling agen. They seemed pretty small and you can piggy back it to you existing AC unit if you have one. just another idea for ya.
  4. Yeah, a possible opportunity...if you know how to get the smell of @ss out of a car...
  5. There you go! Has to be what the have done! :
  6. Those have to be fake! 30" rims would fit on a full size truck with no modifications since they have those low aspect tires, but on a cutlas? Would be like putting 33" mudders on one. Look how low the diff would have to be. If they are f/real, someone spent 10 times what the car is worth, just to have some funky wheels. 26" tires alone are like 1500 per, can't imagie what 30's would cost.
  7. Speaking of Darius, how come he hasn't updated his Datsun info on his site? Seems like it has been atleast a year since I first saw that site and have not seen any changes other than the format.
  8. So you could buy it for say the 5K listed, part it out, and make several hundred percent profit! Someone do this...I don't have the time.
  9. i bought my T5 off of ebay and the guy shipped to me UPS ground. Although I think their max weight is 150lbs. Cost 97 bucks i think. Doubt your motor is under 150 lbs...
  10. Mine is for the complete car, but I think you can get them for all types of different apps. Some are just for guage pannells, to TBI swaps. Check their site out, lots o' stuff. http://www.painlessperformance.com/
  11. Since I am going V8, i went with the generic 18circuit GM model, the one for non GM steering coulums. YOu can get the 12 circuit, but for the bit more it costs, the 18 is the way to go so you definatly won't run out of accessory power when you start adding gadgets.
  12. First of all, the stock harness is CRAP. You will realize the over kill and un needed wires when you pull it ALL out and put in the Painless kit. I am using the Painless kit and I took me less time to route the wires and mount the fuse pannell than it did to PULL the Stock harness! The painless kit is very straight forward, every single wire is labeled for what you need to hooki it up to. I havn't yet connected anything but, shouldn't be too bad. the only think I don't like about the kit so far is that it doesn't supply ground wire with the kit. Just thought that was odd.
  13. I really liked these... But if you want the 'Bad Taste' true 1970's look, go with these... AND, some really tacky sticker kit, like a huge "240" that covered the side and a "Z" that took up the entire hood.
  14. Now that I have thought about it, I think the dash frame is the same for both cars, so you could possibly have it recovered as a rhd. I could be wrong, but in working with my dash this week installing guages, it looked like it could be done.
  15. Sounds good, could use one for the boost/vacume guage as well! BUT that friggin temp line on for the water temp guage is like 3/16 and sticks out from the back of the guage like 3+ inches, so I guess short of turning the guage off center i will have to modify at least the one set of mounting tabs. But thanks for the tip!
  16. Similar, but not intercooled. Any pics with the air cleaner OFF??? TurboMeiser, do you have any pics of your induction system??
  17. That is pretty damn cheap for plating everything. Will have to keep that in mind, for my next car. This one is a driver! I should be free this weekend, would love to see the car before you dig in, or while your digging. I plan on getting ahead on mine this weekend too, no plans other than staying home and finishing up my wiring and maybe running that fuel line, has been intimidating me a bit. I will give you a ring Sat morn? Actually, I have no plans tonight, wife will be out with her friends. I tried sending you a PM but dunno if it took or not...
  18. Have no idea, but I think your next project sound like my cup o tea, all JDM sytle, bet it will be a head turner!
