I think the only reliable motor any american company ever made was a V8 when the miles start packing up, and if you want to start talking about plastic-go sit and drive around in a iroc with about 150k on it and you will see and hear a lot of plastic. I really think the Japanese cars are better engineered, we all use them right? and im not biased towards Japanese cars-i hate european cars that are old even worse. Hate.

L7 means "square" ( make an "L 7" with your hands youll see what i mean. ) or it could mean "j-cat" "hater" "sucker" which is weird to say cuz it translates into "thats ok dog we are (square) (loser) (hater) (sucker) s" ON THAT NOTE-THIS IS FOR MY PEOPLE IN THAT 415 DOING IT REAL BIGGGGGGGGGGYA HEARRRRRRRRRRRRD- " I be blowing DOJAH like a whistle while on the block finst to be bout my thistle" BELLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT "I be jookin when the po-po aint be lookin with dopesak, mini mack and beanie cap" "dont trip off me, im gettin over on the under off that northern cali kill" you started it. get that car running with the Saggyknaw and carbed 350, shoot you got a 240z for commuting, get to racin. the saginaw will last longer than a t5-and you dont have to pay for it, you can do an od trans later, four speed man, ran that combo for three years-and loved every minute of that street action. bangem.

check for vacum leak?, adjust the tps? what does the turbo sound like spooling up, it would sound rougher spining if it was a problem there, but i havent had one so i dont know exactly what the sound sounds like.

its raining and i cant play with my car, in advance i was wondering off hand if anyone knew which equaled negative and positive on the little nissan 300zx coil on 84-89 z car???? im wiring it up to my l-turbo setup and im staying dry, figure once it gets a little drier around here ill tackle a bunch of these here fun projects with the info i get off this site. sorry for being so lazy, its too wet to mess around under the hood. thanx again guys. sidenote: now i know that the ignition transistor on 280zx and 84-89 300zx looks dang near identical, do you guys know if wiring diagram is the same as well-maybe one of you guys can help me out so once i get to work i can knock this stuff out and have some fun! thanx.

hey just went to pull a bunch of tps at local jy, and i noticed that i have two different types one has two contacts, and the other only has one and looks like it should have two-but the tps with only one contact is not broken at all. what gives? i broke mine last week goofing around under the hood and have to replace mine, mine was a two contact tps and will replace with a two pole contact tps, but im wondering whats the difference-is one for auto and the other for manual???? i dont know im kinda confused, im just interested for the sake of learning i guess. thanx again.

wondering what you guys have done to secure the throttle cable to the pivot part of the pedal, the pivot part stock has the ball pressed on to it that connects the throttle linkage, and im sure that at least one of you guys has come up with something good in this regard. thanx guys.

SR20det, somebody do it already and prove the disbelievers wrong. three or more threads about this same thing-CMON. SHOW US....

20b came in japan only car rx7s i think. 13b, you can get those anywhere, with a turbo they are ferocious. ive now had four turbo 2's in the past two months, one of which had a 13btt in it that we had boosting 20 or more psi-(we had the stock guage pinned at 40 psi but that cant be right) and it was scary fast. a single turbo 13b is quick, besides driving them and liking them a little. i dont like rotaries-they are too foreign for my pushrod and now overhead cam caveman brain.

mustangs have to be my favorite kills one of my only races was heads up with a 5.0 with 8psi-got em!!! felt great, but wasnt like my v8z- man they just dont know.....

aghhhhh! the rims look tough too, i will have to measure them to make sure. tim, the body looks good, im sure it will run, the rims are spotless and the rubber is new, my buddy at the yard says the guy got his car took for racing, and he has a couple days left before they lien him out, i would be willing to sell the car with snowflake wheels or not depending if they fit if i can get a finders fee.....

there should be some kind of guide for this, its getting to be a hotter and hotter swap, for a turbo swap i think the easiest way is to get a running car that looks like dung. distributor is matched to ecu, and possibly the afm, i would avoid the 81 with the crank sensor. also avoid 83 with p90a head, but hey then again for the right price id grab and 83 no problem.

an opel-the one that looks like a little z car kinda has these cool rims that i like, its in a tow yard and its for sale. i would pick it up just for the rims, its got panasports on it with new tires. need to know if they are the same offset and wheel lug spacing as a z, this will cement the deal, an opel gets snowflakes and my z gets panas. anyone????

maybe nismo ED will chime in, hes making 230rwhp with l-jetronic.

i run 3.54's and while i think they are ok, i wish i had a close ratio gearing still. i would like to run 3.90 rear end with 10-12 psi with the t3, with the 3.54 and a zx na 5speed its really wide, i also would like a faster spoolup, i think at relatively low power level i have 3.90's would work good, i dont know thats just me, the guy with more than one t3 hiding in the garage.

the msa zg's are small, but they arent much smaller than the ones that really came on the zg, the zg 240 didnt have very much wider tires, flare was styling option. i think any good body guy can turn the street flares into big zg's very easily, my boss at the shop used to make flares that look like zg for the weird old cars like v8 vegas and 302 pintos.

i dont think they can put the 70-78 z cars into the same category as other japanese cars of the same time, they arent around anymore in big numbers, z's are. im not into putting funny badges on my car, saw a del sol with a GTR badge and a wing higher than his roofline-and he looked bad.... 350z badges would be ok, but i think thats pretty ricey. i dont think rice is a derogatory term neccesarily either, kids around here know that the 240z is the original japanese car that started the import craze, its only natural i think to see it as the godfather of the rice rocket craze. after turbo magazine hit, everyone was asking if my v8 z was turbo-now that they see the turbo car, they gawk even more-they think i just painted my v8 car and added a turbo- i think the fear stops them from racing me-which is good because i dont think i can beat the big boys supras, rx7 and 300zx's with my t3 like the 327 would.

my guess is that your car is carbed? my 280 was a late 74 and it was fine but it was factory efi from the start so the turbo swap was real easy, but if you have stock dual carb setup odds are it will not be the ideal for efi fuel tank.

was that with or without the aeromods done to your car zr8ed? i am curious as to why my 240z felt unstable after 80mph, with a completely rebuilt suspension, alignment, and 7" z rated low protires, while my 280, at the time with worn out suspension, bald tires, and ok alignment feels great at high speed? im not wondering if it was the poly air dam(240) vs. the fiberglass one maybe(280)? the 240z was also lowered threee inches. 280 is at stock ride height.

norm, youre nuts. ill be really happy with this car with the fmic if i ever get there.
-
sidenote: i know one guy who dynoed 292hp 325 lbs with 370 merkur inj. fmic t3/t4 and the flapper door and stock ecu he calibrated afm to run with the inj. he had to stop at 4k or so leaning out at 13psi watch out for that guy at sears point he'll be in the 12s if he hooks...............

wiring is very easy i think. thats why i keep saying get a 280zxt if youre fresh to the concept, you can study how it works while it works instead of guessing
