i dont think ive ever seen an ic unit for a carbed blower application, i have seen that chiller thing that goes under the blower though. a nice fmic going to a blowgun would be nice though. the procharger for carbed chev is off the wall bucks, looked into it once upon a time....

dangit aux, i almost thought you were cool

thats a hard swap from what i can see, that motor bearly fits in the 300zxtt.
-
i wouldnt use one of the nostalgic motors like a dz302 or the 70Lt-1, I would sell them to fund a bigger and better motor. dont get me wrong they are great, but they will also fetch a pretty penny, that could be used to build a "nameless" small block into a killer. if i did v8 i would do the 327 again with some killer bottom end machine work and balancing, and a combo that would give me at least 350rwhp and 6500-7k of shear menace to society, a zippy sports car with some serious torque and hp. but then again im really getting to like these import cars, the parts are much smaller, man imagaine working on a z all day and doing jobs here and again with civics and mr2's, then getting under a chevelle, its a different world-a bigger world. i dont know, im around too many v8's i guess.

get the whole car, find one that runs semi ok with body damage, the nick nacs you have access too are so worth it.
-
they dont all suck. i particularily like the one thats like the greatest hits, wherre you get to see a little of all the wangans in one shot, from su's turbos to six tb turbo generation all in one, except i cant understand a word they say.
-
yeah if you were in Sac still I would definitely be into that.
-
turbo car is still for sale, if i dont sell it soon im just gonna drive it. but yeah ive got two new projects in the works now, im doing a L28et drop in for my buddy nothing special, hes even keeping teh four speed tranny in for now its so low buck. im working on yes, another turbo rx7- this one has stock motor and turbo, should be fun car, another auction grab, figured hey what the heck, this one is even white-same color as the other grenade i had! keep you guys updated, im just gonna stick some bolts on this one and play with it, man these rotaries are starting to grow on me...

some tracks wont let you race with out no more than 12inches of soft line, braided or not. but i havent had an official yet look under the car, just under the hood.

i agree. i would love to find out how to make 230rwhp NA with the stock efi. i hope its possible, but if it is its got to be hard, i know of guys in the 200ish power range with 3.1 strokers, one with 50mm sus, and the other is really built with six throttles-230-50?ish or so at the wheels. the difference ive seen is that the su car diesels out you have to stall it to not diesel out, but still pretty fast and the six throttle is just plain out smooth driver,i think its sds or something and kicks butt, efi probably could deal with the 10.5-11-1cr metering a lot better than the SU's. I still think for the money youll see 230hp with a turbo setup with bolts ons and a healthy motor weigh more easily NA.

sds next time around for sure

car is gone, probably couldnt sell it for too much because i already told yall what we paid for it. made a killing to say the least, and still sold the car under blue book, hey no plates and no way to pass smog legitimately earns a good discount right? car was clean title with 188k on chassis. i took the turbo guage out of my car, and ran it for testing on the rx7 and it read 18psi, all dang day with stock intercooler, but yes for how long???. the best part is that the dash guage would spike 40psi right after idle. that car had the ability to easily anhialate both my v8z and my current car, no question and no doubts about it, i ran two ls1 powered cars ridiculous, three 5.0s, a civic, and a rx7 turbo2-like no thing. best race out of them had to be the ls1 camaro i went up on, it seemed to have way more guts than the other one, but nothing can stop a driver that has no regard for breaking things in the least, i went both clutchless and wot shifted on anything that could hold with this thing at the gate, at 9k!!!! easily 12 second car with cats, some smog equipment, and rubber intercooler hoses! why did i get rid of it you ask me? man that car was not done right at all, and i was lucky enough to get the car fresh enough to take a week of HELL, more doughnuts than the night shift, and man so many burnouts, it was like i was FAIRLADY 327 or something. besides that, selling cars you like makes you firmer on pricing, and makes the car easier for you to sell because if you like the car, most likely you will know a lot about the car and be able to relate that to possible buyers. i got an offer in cash and he accepted my terms and bought a car that will not pass smog legitimately and is at least a year out of registration-auction cars here are sold with no liscence plates making the buyer usually have to register the car to sell it, and you know if you sell more than three cars a year you are subject to dealer taxation if they are in your name. in short-man that car was hot, and im not your rotary man at all, its pushrods or overhead cams motor-no rotor. this is the first time i ever bought a car from the auction, usually when i go its packed and people buy all the good cars at prices that get too steep for me, and i dont feel like risking it on the cars that are left, the day we got the rx it was dead, and we got lucky, but didnt want to test our luck with that crazy SOB-RX gone, but we will never forget.

oh say it aint so lone! maybe a trade of sorts.??

four speed baby, four speed, man a 327/4spd i really miss sometimes, hate to say it.
-
man not again. im going to hold back, although i have one thing to say, what i like about the l turbo swap is that im having a complete ball everyday in this car, its silky smooth, makes great power, and mechanically yes, its an r and r, i also know a guy that didnt change his gas tank for the swap, he does keep his gas level high, but has had no problems cornering hard and has run 13.4 at some ungodly mph with stock internals, stock tb, stock turbo ecu and afm, and 16psi on a starion intercooler, i think thats really really good considering he does it on a stock t3 and 2" ic piping and a bone stock l28et with pumped up boost. im hooked on turbos, theyre just sick.

150.00 to your door, just got another ic thats bigger. pls.. send this to for sale section, sorry.

300.00 between me and my buddy, we went to auctions recently, picked up a white 88 rx7, had to compression start it out of the place, barely made it home on empty and all of the turbo hoses were leaking, got home, started tightening stuff down, what do we see? not one, but freaking twin turbos kicking it down there! this thing has a twin turbo swap-immediately turned em up to 18psi-and took down three 5.0's and a ws6 firebird, not by inches, by cars!!!!!! after we poured two quarts of 50w oil in the sucker. thing is ridiculous, im thinking 12.9 in this car, it hooks pretty good somehow. this thing is seriously fast, cant wait to finish the interior tune it, and get rid of it, but intensely fast car, photos will be up sometime soon!

shopping for a 3.90 rear end, and im wondering if its dependent on year which differential flange bolt spacing or if its only different from r180 or r200? thanx guys. heres my case, im running a zx trans to the stock 75 r200, now is the flange different for a 81-83 r200? im shopping for a 3.90 or 4.11 diff for my car and dont want to pick one up, drop my suspension, and find out its the wrong flange, also dont want to swap flanges because i dont want to damage bearings. just trying to make my diff swap take four hours not four weeks. thanx guys.

What's the best way to remove stub axles at the JY?
fl327 replied to a topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
best way i have figured out is this, go to the jy's where they pull it for you, point out the part you need, and make them pull it while you watch them, at the spot i go to its about 10.00 more for them to do this, and its a great site to see. -
you really cant go wrong with either one, 19psi in any car make me like it theres no doubt about that, i dont run the four cylinders in anything heavier than 2000 lbs with me in it, and im 6 foot 2 and weigh 225-unless its in a 510 station wagon, only exception.

naw, bolt up the slicks and let er rip, odds are halfshaft may go, but ive heard of people running 11s with slicks , auto, and half shafts. mind you, your getting power down, and almost everything starts becoming suspect.
-
anti seize is good on exhaust bolts, flanges, turbo bolts to downpipe, exhaust manifold flanges, spark plugs as well. some suspension pieces get locktite, definitely a dab or so on the driveshaft flange bolts..

badges, we dont need no stinking badges. they look good though, no badges for me though, if you dont know its a z, you will!
