  1. Nice job, It really cleans up the interior and the bolts look trick. That said, you might want to finish off the raw edge on the top pc. with either a hem ( take it to a sheetmetal shop and have them bend under a 1/4-1/2 inch hem ) or a rubber trim channel. I know you'll be using a harness but your hands could contact that edge in a crash and a knuckle punch straight on would go right thru a driving glove.I'd like to see more pics of the car.
  2. I just picked up PS3 and was looking for a good driving/racing game.I'm a total noob at this, havent played anything since Pong was the craze.
  3. Acetone works great for cleaning metal but it will strip any oil from the surfaces it contacts. If your concerned about rust, a lightly oiled rag pushed thru the tube will remove any unwanted debris and leave an oil film that will retard rust. If rust is a huge concern, use the acetone to clean and tape up the tube ends/openings and pour some paint into the tube and swish it around.
  4. The fact that Showcars is ILLEGALLY advertising Baddog parts as their own tells me to stay away.
  5. yes, Ive got a dozen or so left. Check the vendors forum for ordering info. Thanks
  6. Sorry , no before pics , but you all know what dirty stock L28et looks like.
  7. nevermind that nonsense...get back to work!!!
  8. Thats a decent machine and if you can get it for a good price, I'd jump on it.The limited amperage adjustment is a minor drawback for the hobbyist welder. It really depends on what kind of money he's asking.
  9. My weight did not include the cross member, steering rack and mine came on a plastic pallet. Those items prolly can account for 50 lbs +-.
  10. I sprung for the real deal because I was tired of the cheapo's failing.
  11. I'm American and I dont hate everybody ( cept for haters ) and my shop rate is $ 80.00 / hr.
  12. The weight I gave on an SR was from the shipping company. That included everything less fluids.
  13. I dont know what the RB25 weighs but an SR20det with tranny is right around 475 lbs.
  14. I gotta second the Karim recomendation. I got a very clean SR20det from him.
  15. I second Warrens method. Jig the manifold up into the desired orientation to the drill/saw and clamp it down tight to the press's bed and an uneven/nonflat surface wont matter.Go slow at first to establish a good straight hole
  16. I'm thankful for the programable ECU, ball bearing turbos and race gas.
  17. thanks guys, time to checkout the local line-x companys
  18. Anyone have first hand experience with this spray on bed liner? Ive got a new truck and I'm considering getting it done. Ive always used the rubber mat and its done what I need it to but I'd like to hear what you guys think.
  19. the proper name is rotary bender or a variation of it.
  20. Oh... to be 40 again. Happy Birthday mang
  21. I ended up building a gantry to position the motor better and it was well worth the effort. It allowed rotation and elevation changes to get it just right. I only picked the motor from 2 spots towards the front and made the other adjustments from the tail end of the tranny. The SR tranny is considerably bigger than the stock box and I had to remove alot of the tunnel's top. It feels good to make progress. Here it is in its final resting place...yipee
  22. I just picked up a Millermatic 140 and would recomend it to anyone. I had a Hobart that was never really good. It welded, but never very well. As was said, get the best machine you can afford right up front and take the class to learnhow best to use it.
  23. Sorry man...my brain is a sieve, perforated from years of weld fumes, minor concussions and way too many tequila shots. I'm on it...
