  1. I'd park the Montero on nice days and drive the Z every chance you get. If its gonna rain,or its 110 degrees out, take the Montero. Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
  2. I dont believe that part is available new. Junk yard would be your best bet since its a complex curve. You could even get away with using a section from a different car as thats a somewhat universal shape. If I was starting fresh, I'd use 20 ga cold rolled.
  3. That looks great! Ive been wrestling with whether or not I should blast the bottom of my car and after seeing yours, I cant see taking it off the rottisierie without doing it.I checked out your project thread too and it looks really good, keep it up.
  4. Google " Tail of the Dragon". in N. Carolina. Even in a beater rental car you'll have fun.
  5. Ron, my son lost interest and hasnt touched it in almost a year. I keep flashing him a wad of money in hopes of buying it off him but he wont bite. Its such a shame too, the motor is in place, it just needs everything else hooked up. Not to mention, its taking up space in my shop. I get pissed every time I think about so Ive just put the blinders on and plug away on the RB swap.
  6. Ive got the 2 door shell just waiting for the sr swap too.Gotta finish some other things first, but its comin..
  7. Gotta agree with the folks recomending the 250. Ive got a 351 and a 250 love them both. I'd say the 250 see's more use. Ive got eight Miller machines and cant say enough about there dependability and features. You get what you pay for.
  8. I agree, semi will look better. Is that blue overspray on you and everything else in the pic?
  9. I'd go with the T-bolt set up first. Its very versitile, strong and inexpensive. Until then , at least use a visegrip before you lose a finger.
  10. If its anywhere near the quality of your SS hood, I'll be down for one as well.Let us know when they're available.
  11. We pretty much stayed between Jaco and Quepos. Theres so much to do there, we didnt have time to go anywhere else.We did the " Rainmaker " park suspension bridges ( 160' high and 500+feet across ). That scared the zhit outta me. We did the "Mountain View" zip lines.Supposidley the highest and longest in the country.Went scuba diving the islands off Manuel Antonio and fishing out of Quepos. It was nonstop the whole week.Heres a couple more pics. The crocs were just laying on the bank of some river between Jaco and San Jose. The sunset was from the beach at the house we rented in Playa Banderas
  12. Wow what a trip. One week isnt nearly enough tho.Fishing was truelly world class.Scuba was just OK, Ive been spoiled by Cozumel, Puerto Rico and even the Bahamas were better.Heres a couple of fish pics of me and my sons.
  13. Jay, your car looks great!! How about some more pics??
  14. Thanks Nismo, thats the info I was looking for. Man, I cant wait.
  15. Fishing is on top of my list. I plan on going out of Quepos but havent picked an outfitter yet. Also, plan on some scuba diving with my son's,zip line sounds pretty sweet too. We have a beach house in between Quepos and Jaco on the Pacific side.
  16. I'm taking my family there this friday for a week. Luckily we arent near the recent earthquake so passage shouldnt be a problem. It would be nice to hear some first hand recomendations for must see/do places.Ive done alot of research and know of all the turisty sp. spots but I prefer to stay off the beaten path.
  17. I have this saw and love it. Its probably too pricey for a hobbiest but if your going to do alot of precision cutting, its a good investment. http://www.kooltools.com/bandsaw_ev88.html
  18. I wouldnt think twisting would not be an issue. He's got the diff carrier and tranny mount installed, its on flat ground,no motor and the stock rails havent been removed.I take it you got power back Pete.
  19. Screw winter....after the ice storm a week ago that still has people without power to 12" + snow this week I'm so ready for vacation and its not even Xmas.
  20. sounds like you have the wrong offset on your rims. Those flares should handle a 245 plus tire if they were on the correct rim.Swapping wheels is probably cheaper than ZG's,body work and a paintjob.
