  1. I use Hypertherm Plasma for both handheld and CNC. Ive hand good luck with noth. I'm going to replace the CNC machine and one of the criteria is that the new machine uses Hypertherms equipment. Another reason is that they're an hour away from me for parts/service. As others have said, thermaldynamics is also a very good choice.
  2. This is what she looks like now. Brake kits on order and the L16 is coming out this weekend so he can clean and paint the bay before the new motor comes. We also have to start planning fuel management. The stock tank will have the same issues as an early Z. Its either sump the tank or build a seperate one. Stock lines arent big enough too, so those will need to be redone. The list will go on, but I'm ready to dig in...I think I want to do this swap as much as my son does. The tables will turn....."hey son, can I borrow your truck tonight" ?
  3. theres no float bowls,no air/idle knobs, no choke circuits, nothing that resembles a basic carb. They look more like a TB but theres also no injectors.
  4. Heres what it looked like the day we hauled it home. Now it sports a sweet metalic charcoal paintjob , rhino liner in the bed and chrome American racing rims. I had a pair of newly reupolstered 240 seats that he swapped for the bench. I'll post some new pics tonight.
  5. I'll put up some pics tomorrow. For now, it will remain stock. I want him to learn how to handle the added power one step at a time. We are also swapping in disc brakes to keep things balanced and dropping it 2-3 inches.
  6. to swap into my son's 72 pickup. The old L16 just wasnt cutting it. Unfortunately, this will delay the RB swap into my 240. The SR is a graduation present so it gets priority. It'll be good practice for my swap that I'm hoping to do this winter. We'll keep updates in the members projects forum for anyone interested.
  7. I dont know about living there but the fishing is excelent.Salmon stealhead and huge browns are in all the creeks and rivers flowing into Ontario and Erie in the fall. Oh ya , hope you like snow....
  8. do a search for racer98 here at hybrid. He can get you what you need. Theres a handful of guys here that have bought from him and they all have been satisfied. I just ordered an SR20det from him so i'll keep you posted as to how the transaction goes.
  9. I have to go with RoxZ. My 240 will look like that once the 26 is in. Nice job guys.
  10. Theres at least 3 of us from the Boston area making the trip. We havent worked out the timing yet, when are you heading out and what route are planning?

  13. Hey Phil I'm in mMaine right now but will be in Nashua prolly late sunday night. Lets have a cold one Monday night. Merrimac is only 15 mins from me. PM me a cell if you want to meet.
  14. basicly, a dirtbike silencer is a glaspak.just buy a thrush or cherrybomb and get something thats sized for a car.
  15. Mask the part to the OD of your sticker and beadblast the paint off. If you go the rivet route, solid rivets look way better than pops.
  16. For a 10" diam hole I'd go with the jigsaw. Cover the outside of the cut with blue painters tape so you dont scratch it. Take your time, get a nice round cut, it'll save alot of cleanup after. If your not coverin g it up with a scoop, trim it out with rubber channel and be sure to seal the raw metal back up before you cover it.
  17. I dont believe that there IS a solution to parts failing when you deal with that kind of power. With those kind of numbers, things break, period.
  18. heres my shanty.thats pollen on the Z
  19. I havent made the purchase yet but thats where the money's going. And ya popnwood, who better to do that business with than Ron.
