  2. check the exhuast manifold.. the engine could be spewing oil and not burning it.. so you can have oil in the downpipe. BUT.. sounds like ya have a bad turbo seal

  5. dont need a "custom" setup for 300-350rwhp.. this is easily obtainable with a stock block and cylinder head. Bolt on a larger turbo.. bigger injectors.. nice intercooler and a good EFI management.. your in the game
  6. hmm both of my instructors will.. "help" with the controls.. they dont completely take over.. i kinda like it.. gives me that extra bump
  7. oh and.. #1 i should proof read before i post. #2... i meant the STUDENT put the gear up instead of flaps.. not my instructor lol.
  8. Base to final are typically the #1 place to stall/spin into the ground.. several instructors have died the past few months in Colorado.. basically its a "well qualified" flight instructor (some are crap.. but they have the "hours") teaching a kid how to fly. They literally put their lifes on end everyday when the fly with young students.. the instructor simply cant trust the student right off with such low hours and almost no experience. Ive seen soo many students hit the nose wheel on landings.. or literally fly the airplane into the ground for a landing.. not a smooth flair and land on the rear wheels (tri gear).. all wheels at once and a big bounce. Im studying for my CFI now... and to be honest.. there's alot of student I wouldnt want to fly with.. alot of so called "certificated pilots" fly like crap. Dont freak out.. he is just doing whats best... just takes experience and practice. I agree he is a bit on edge. my CFII flew with a student the other day doing a touch and go w retractable gear.. once he touched down instead of putting flaps up.. he put the gear up. Once the lever is up its too late. my instructor couldnt save it. 2,500 hrs and no accident.. then boom. not good

  10. what about ITB's with a nice plenum such as for a turbo application?! seems like a winning combo.. just costs alot lol
  11. didnt have a chance to snap some pics but it looked surprisingly good! The combo with Vortex Generators with Subaru's roof vane introduced in the 2007 models... and the EVO wing looks amazing. I cant imagine how much drag that cleaned up. If anyone hasnt seen the roof vane it looks like this and this are VG's on an EVO Too bad the roof vanes are like $130 on ebay.. damn!

  13. Aux why do you say this?! too pricey and too much fab work?! alot of the 510 guys and Miata guys and airplane guys swap them in.. any reason why its too much work in a Z?!
  14. color of smoke....? smoke on decel? smoke at idle or no throttle conditions?! smoke under load?!
