  2. and the oil cooler vent... only the 280zx's came with oil coolers.. and were not mounted along side the middle of the engine Z's benefit from "vents/louvers" to expel the high pressure build up air at high speeds and allow the heat to RISE out of the hood. The vents in your design act as "ram air" effect and actually jam more high pressure air under the hood. Although the air is cooler it will absorb some heat... but not efficiently. AND the "induction" vent is way out of place.. if you notice the Z's air box is located on the front of the radiator support.. or the "passengers" side of the car. The induction vent is located too far back and on the wrong side of the engine compartment.
  3. No they are not cosmetic.. If you join the Aerodynamics group on the forum you could read the results and how "functional" they really are
  4. you mean the vortex generators? Ebay.. company that sells them is called "Vortekz Generators" yes thats the correct spelling.

  10. you guys give him so much crap.. Excellent work my friend. Oh... why didnt the customer choose a nice ITB setup out of curiosity?
  11. oh i want a set of brakes that dont heat up and stay strong for 20 min.
  12. Heres an example.. The FIA WRC rally cars have a 34mm restriction.. they produce a low number of 300whp.. but have you seen a Rally car launch and drive? 0-60 in less than 3 seconds. They are NOT limited to torque.. for example the 2001 Impreza has 471nm of torque at 4000rpm. anyway.. im sure with an allowance of more air... they could create more power.. buutt hey a small point
  13. LoL.. yeh Bryan helped me with that! I was freaking out because the dizzy wouldnt fit! I thought I wouldnt be able to do the swap! then Bryan noticed there was a spacer.. whew. =)
  14. Excuse the crap quality.. a flash and night time isnt bright enough.. No flash and night time has such a long exposure if anything moves its blurry. But hey a 2008 Audi R8 supercar! whoo!
  15. seems fine to me! With some nice sealed ducting there shouldnt be any reason why you would have heating problems. Ducting is important to prevent the air just hitting the intercooler and going "around" and going through the holes on the radiator support and under/below the car. this would allow the air to flow through the intercooler and keep the radiator cool. By the way many many many people have a setup almost identical to yours.. and dont have any iissues. Good work so far!
  16. your right Jon! I read your FAQ and built it after a good read!
  17. why would it be horrible?? LOADS of torque!!! ok its heavy.. and big.. but other than that?
  18. nice! Ive raced a 360 and 348ts! fun cars to race! =)
  19. yeh I have new hardware under the car now. But i used a old headbolt for lining everything up and for demo =) Cost me $1.29 total.
  20. After doing some searching... I determined Cliftons ingenious solution to tearing rubber differential mounts was the best option for me. I just welded 2 tabs to the mount and they hung below the cross member. I drilled a hole.. inserted a bolt and nut.. and sandwiched a rubber fuel hose in between the bolt and cross member to avoid vibration and noise. Pictures speak for themselves. The Ron Tyler mount was an attractive idea.. but I dont have a close supplier of 3/16" steel anywhere close to me.
