My parents promised me that when I turned fourteen I would be able to buy a project car. I had grown up with our 1967 Ford LTD four door Hunter green 390 V8, and I always helped my dad out when I was younger. Every time I got birthday Money I put it into the bank probably started around 6ish. Well a few months after I turned 14, we were driving by a local town and around the corner was this Blue s30 2+2, It was love at first sight. After that I always begged my parents to stop by so I could check it out. After looking it over it didn't look to bad, at the time I had heard of 240s being rally cars but thats about it for what I knew about Datsuns. After I searched online about the cars and seeing if it would be worth it and coming across Hybridz a few times, I convinced my parents to let me try to get it. I called up the guy he was asking 500 bucks, I had only 350 bucks so I convinced him to bring it down. He told me that the car had been his grandfather's car and had been restored once before but had been sitting 9 years "supposedly" garaged. So we hopped into our little Ford Ranger and drove there and bought the car, it didn't run at the time so we had to tow it. With my mom towing and my dad in the Datsun we slowly rode the 30 miles home. After almost three years here I am now and I can't wait to get it finished. Oh and By the way I am 16.

You can find most of your information through search, I have seen many posts saying how much the L28 can handle, also plenty about putting a turbo on a NA L28. just search its been covered before.

Well from the looks in the pictures it had sat quite a while in tall grass and If its from Atlanta that thing could have major problems underneath. If it was sitting like that in the grass and with the flat tires it would have been lower to the ground. I would say if you just wanted to take all the parts and trash the body, go for it. Otherwise if you were going to try and restore it, it's just junk and possibly would not be worth the money you spend fixing it depending on the rust and damage.

Well I get my Drivers license in July, My parents (Mom) are trying to keep me from starting bad habits but I tend to get a little rev happy sometimes or accelerate to the speed limit as fast as possible haha. All while in our 1996 Ford windstar with the 3.8 V6 ( I had to replace the intake gaskets just the last three days, no fun at all.), which actually has some pull.

Well mine had a trailer hitch drilled and bolted onto the rear big 280z bumper he also had a CB radio hook up and everything, It was restored once Painted blue and filled some pretty large holes in the lower rear quarter panels (missouri car), plenty of holes in the floor and that is pretty much it.

Did you wire it backwards, is it backwards on the Fuel line? (output facing carb,Inlet towards tank)

were they hiding in your mustache..directly under your nose? Did they fall through the space time continuum?

Thanks alot, mine does have the Gold colored Oil pressure sender. Thanks for all the help guys. I was going to try replacing the sender with a one at autozone so I guess that is a no go now haha, Well thanks for the links I guess I should have searched harder but thanks.

You need to get some ZG fender flares and a Brush Grill for the Z and they will match haha.

Alright I will try to explain this as well as I can. I got my car almost three years ago, it had sat for 9 years supposedly. If I remember right the gauge didn't always show oil pressure. Anyways Just recently I traded my rims for a Clifford Intake with a Two barrel holly and a 6-2-1 Header, I put all that on and it works fine. I have everything hooked up and also the guy I bought it from said it was a New Oil pump. Anyways to the point. when my car idles the oil pressure gauge doesn't do anything doesn't go up at all, When I rev my car up to 1500 RPMs It moves up to zero slowy then sorta stays there and doesn't do much of anything. I was wondering if this could be my gauge or maybe something else? I took the oil cap off when it was running and you can see oil squirting around and stuff just fine. The pressure sender looks new (maybe PO meant oil sender), but otherwise I don't really have any idea about what it could be. Plus I did search and I didn't find much of anything, I do have a spare Oil pressure gauge out of a 260z which I will put it tomorrow and see if that changes anything.
