  1. GeeZ - I can see where you're coming from, but this kind of thing can go both ways. Everyone in my company has my cell phone number and I frequently get calls in off hours. I also take personal calls at work occasionally. I work in a technical/software development role. These guys can put in 70+ hours in a week when things get crunched. So long as everyone gets their projects completed to a high quality standard, I don't care if they have to take care of some personal business during the day.
  2. They are a good looking wheel, especially for the price we got a while back. Be sure to post with what you wind up paying for them. There seems to be interest off and on for these.
  3. I wish people would stop repeating this. Stock 280z wheels were 14x6 with +15 offset. CalifaThugz - this was more than covered in the two other Rota Grid threads. Search.
  4. Lunar - exactly. What's the advantage of this Wilwood parking brake caliper over the MM 240sx kit? I actually have both the AZC 4 piston and MM 240sx conversions. Wound up installing the 240sx kit. Shouldn't it be possible to machine a bracket like the AZC bracket with the mounts for Wilwood mechanical spots? I considered having some made, but figured the cost to get just one pair made would be too high.
  5. I removed mine for the AZC Wilwood setup. Check the fittings on the lines that came with the kit. I doubt you'll wind up needing the stock hardline.
  6. I stopped by an Autozone today and asked for the UF2020 boot. The guy behind the counter said they're discontinued and he can't get them. It turns out the Specialty Products 33020 boots I got from MSA are a universal piece. I picked up another set for $18 at O'Reilly. Once the first "step" on the inboard side is trimmed off these fit very well.
  7. Get some tape on those bars and go for a ride already! Oh, and flip that front QR around post haste or get ready for the "Fred" police.
  8. An all-electric (EV) or any other alternative fuel would probably be easier to accomplish in a Z. I guess if you could find a donor gasoline/electric vehicle anything's possible. Personally, I'm half considering attempting an e85 l28et.
  9. I'm not digging the "real/true hybrid" phrasing. If you want to put a gasoline/electric hybrid powerplant then best of luck. But it won't be any more "real" or "true" hybrid than a Chevy/Datsun combo.
  10. I'm pretty sure the bushings you're talking about do come in the Energy master kit. The only ones not included are the front sway bar mounts.
  11. Answered my own question - Energy Suspension 9.5129 universal sway bar mount bushings.
  12. I've got a Addco 1" front sway bar that came with bushings, end links and brackets. The brackets are pretty questionable pieces that don't look like they'll actually fit over the bushing. Anyone know where I can get a better bushing/bracket?
  13. Heh, yeah, try not to get carried away. Bushings, shocks and brake pads snowballed into coilovers, camber plates, MM rear brakes, AZC front brakes, new master cylinder, front sway bar, air dam, steering wheel, ball joints, rack boots, tie rod ends, bump steer spacers, wheel bearings, wheel studs, etc. Oh yeah, I've repainted all of the suspension parts "while they're off the car." Just typing this out makes my head hurt. This kind of upgrade can go way out of control. Go in with a plan.
  14. Ebay is your friend for bushing kits and tokico stuff. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Energy-Suspension-7-18102R-Bushing-Kit-Nissan-280Z_W0QQitemZ320100111828QQihZ011QQcategoryZ42609QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOKICO-HP-SHOCKS-SPRINGS-NISSAN-260Z-280Z-75-78_W0QQitemZ160103946395QQihZ006QQcategoryZ33590QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  15. I went back through my photos and couldn't find any interior shots of a 432 or 432R. I could definitely tell that the 432R seat had a headrest on it though. Judging by the condition of the car, I would bet that the seats in the 432R were original.
  16. We got snow here by DFW airport. Friends in Lake Eagle Mountain and Frisco said they were getting snow at exactly the same time. Weird.
  17. Roger - do you know of a good online source for ISO fasteners? The best I've found is flanged bolts in "motorcycle" kits which can be hard to fit in some places. My closest local bolt/fastener supply hasn't been too helpful.
  18. Find a copy of The World's Fastest Indian and watch it for inspiration. If you're still not sure, pay the $1400 to have it shipped. There was a thread here about that movie a couple of months ago and I just caught it on cable. I was just looking for a spot to mention that movie and this happens to be relevant.
  19. I've got some photos of a 432R from the 2005 Z Car Fiesta at home. I'll check those tonight.
  20. You mean these? Post #66: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=119331&page=4
  21. Didn't even rain here. The clouds rolled over us pretty quickly though. At around 7 the light outside turned yellow. Really bizarre.
  22. I spent 3 years trying to track down a "bad title" problem. Mine was worse than yours. I paid more, and the title I got was not legit. I should finally get a clear title in my hand this weekend if everything goes right. If I had it to do over again, I'd part what I could and cut the rest up with a sawzall and recycle the metal. If you've got a legal title to the car just make the best of it.
  23. When I've dealt with Sal at MSA everything has been great. When I speak with anyone else things can get shaky. Whatever problems I have had were dealt with eventually, but one of them should have never happened in the first place. I will probably give them business again in the future.
