  1. V8's are all fine and dandy, but I totally disagree on the cost side. L28's are easily cheaper than a mild built sbc. You say they are cheap, but I have real life experience with how expensive building a high HP SBC really is. The downside to the L28 is all in he head. It is non-crossflow. As in, it doesn't flow worth a crap.
  2. Well I drove to bloomington to get my new F54/P79 combo going in my 72. I purchased it from a fellow IZCC member. I know a guy with a full drop in and go turbo swap, hybrid t3/t4 turbo, 5 speed, not sure on total details. He told me 3k.
  3. If we can figure out gas money or something I'll find the time, you find an engine. I'll make the long ass drive from Indianapolis and help you pull it and put a new one in. I live on the west side of Indy. I actually just put another one in my 240z gotta finish the work up. The only issue is finding one.

Worked for me. I liked it. =D
  5. Hey everybody. I am in need of an L28e fast. I would like to be able to turn it over at least, if I can hear it run that is better. Low miles is better, but cheap is also better. I just want it to be in a good running condition. Just a long block. Close to Indiana. Call or text me later - (765) 716-7917 or send me an email at Kinser.Hair@gmail.com Thanks, Kinser
  6. You live close to me, I am in Indy. I am actually kinda feeling the same pressure as my L28 burns oil really bad, but I am not hitting only 3. It runs on all 6 just fine, but decel down shifting smokes up a storm. Let us all know which direction you go. When I do my build I am planning on doing an F54/p90 turbo setup, and building it in my garage, minus machine work on the block which I have a shop to do that.
  7. Not when you stepped on the brakes you sure didn't. You cannot do power brake 2 wheel burnout with an open differential. It just isn't possible. EDIT: I'd like to also add, I had a 1990 nissan 240sx, open diff. Slick or not, you couldn't slide like that. Trust me. I could get it sideways, but it would not hold a wide circle like that.
  8. I really like what I am hearing. I think I will save up and buy all of your parts when I do my suspension build. It is surprising the handling ability and speed you can gain from weight loss.
  9. It appeared to be a welded diff to me. Had to be LSD or welded. It did a two wheel burnout.
  10. I think the really beef of the z car weight loss could be had in doors. Doors are such a large item its hard to make them affordable, and still working.
  11. Are there plans for entire fenders? It is looking like I am going to be able to drop some SERIOUS weight once I get to that stage in my build.
  12. Why am I not smart like you? I think I am going to go hack my fuel cell out of the z now.
  13. Ok. So I have to ask. I have the same wheels. What tire size, how much drop? Looks great. I would like to stick with stock uncut fenders for now. I figure you are close to max tire. Guessing 225/50/16. I was hoping I could fit 245's but I think I'll be pushing it.
  14. I love the IMSA 3 peice lonestar. I am now going to be required to add one to my z.
  15. I'm gonna have to start cutting unneeded bits from the z body harness. Weight loss anyways.
  16. Yep, almost done, one more panel to cut, everything else is welded in except for one bead. The sealer, paint, undercoat. Install the fuel cell. Should be ready to go next week, fingers crossed!
  17. I got my exhaust kit from Mandrel Bending Solutions (MBS) They have a website and they are on ebay, I purchased my kit on ebay. You can buy aluminized, 409, or 309 stainless. Slip fit or not, variation of sizes and bends or a kit like mine. Aluminized 3" was 170 shipped to my door in under 5 days!
  18. Ok, little update. I have everything for MegaSquirt install, but I am saving it until after Branson Z fest as long as I can keep it running right. The exhaust is all finished up. I just started welding the sheet metal in for the fuel cell about 10 minutes ago. I plan to have that finished up this weekend. Then just final touches and it will be finished. Insure, register, drive. I am planning on making Branson Z fest. I will have picture up of the exhaust and maybe a video hopefully by the end of the week.
  19. Kameari makes high quality, very expensive, parts. They are good parts, you don't see them used because the majority of S30 owners can't exactly afford them, and if they can afford them they can afford an engine swap to something more worth money like that. Personally I don't think the L6 is worth that kind of money, I would much rather do an RB swap, or SR swap, or LSx swap. Something that is going to be a better base platform with more options for aftermarket parts. You get what you pay for though, at least most of the time. zccjdm.com sells thier parts. He is a vendor on here. Take a look he has parts from them listed on the website. Good luck.
  20. You could have the wrong slave cylinder push rod. If the length is too short then it won't dis-engage the clutch properly. Also try to just adjust your clutch master cylinder. THere is a little jamnut on it. Loosen that then extend the fork outward slightly. Just make sure you don't adjust it to where your clutch is constantly slipping if you do this. I had this issue with my 240sx that had a KA24DE swap from the KA24E and the clutch pedal was all jacked up. It was very difficult to adjust the clutch to shift smooth and easy without having the clutch slipping. It sounds like a slave cylinder issue to me though. Also, when bleeding the slave. Have your pedal pusher hold the pedal down, crack the bleeder screw, unbolt the slave cylinder, push the piston back in, then bolt it back on and close the bleeder. Just make sure whoever is holding the pedal holds it the entire time. This gets the air bubbles from behind the piston.
  21. You need to make the picture smaller so I can use it as my wallpaper.
  22. Before I left New Mexico I had gone to the SQC Motiva dyno day and BBQ. A super with a stock bottom end make over 700WHP. Built 3.4 stroked 2jz's can handle almost 2000hp.
  23. I just feel like adding that my 240z with 16x8 002's has 225/50/16 Yokohama YK520, stock ride height does not rub. With minimal fender lip rolling it could be lowered and not rub.
