  1. if you mean loud by huge boost leak LOL. Dude if its too loud, put another nipple on the MBC and route it back out of the car! Evan
  2. I have a 11lb flywheel on my RB25DET. Made a great difference in throttle response. Its not "easy" to drive but thats in combo with an act sprung 6 puck and a heavy duty PP. I am used to it, just have to bring the revs up to get off the line. Evan
  3. Go clip depending on the price you get it for. I wish I had. Mine had little stuff cracked and missing that would have made it safely through transit. The 240sx guys can use the crossmember for their swaps. You can sell that. Sometimes they come with brakes which is also good for the 240 guys. Just throwing that out there! I was ready to pay almost 200 for a crossmember. Evan
  4. I am not sure about the MBC's but I do know that greddy demands a somewhat short run of vac. tube for accuracy. Tends to overboost if you have the lines too long. Test it out before you drill a hole in your car. Evan
  5. Dude, if you decide you gotta get rid of the z32 tranny let me know. Mine is jacked, bad bearing or something. Very loud whining. Evan
  6. You crazy hillrods and your meth! lol Looks good Gabe, I never noticed that rust down there. Thats the exact same place where my car was rusted the 2nd go around. I just could not bring myself to redo all the body work again. the hole was huge on my car, about a square foot needed to be cut out and replaced. Lookin' good champ! Evan
  7. You would need an rb26 or rb25 det bellhousing. I have a z31t bolted to the rb26 awd trans bellhousing. I did this several years ago, and it served me well. I do need a new trans though. $300 is a good deal IMO. Evan
  8. That looks just like the one that James Thaggard made. I think Ivan had it. Looks great! I wish I had the skills to do custom end tanks for my 240sx!!! What core did you use? Evan
  9. Booztd 3. The reason that I am interested in upgrading my ignition is not due to inadequate spark. I am more concerned about reliability. Lsx coils do have ignitor built in from what i remember. Evan
  10. You are better off with the thin shroud around the radiator, should make cooling work much better. i need to do the same on my car but there is no room to do that. Clean engine bay! Evan Don't be fooled, the 20 runs hot.
  11. Too low, your gonna wanna see at least 160 I would think. Is your T-stat stuck open?
  12. It amazes me that you were street racing in that much traffic. Keep it on the track, its not just you who could get killed.
  13. Actually the LS1 coils are an excellent choice. A member here rigged up a test setup with stock dwell from a KA24DET motor and spark was insane from what he said. Evan
  14. Thats weak. Good luck! Makita makes a nice right angle drill that you may be able to get at it with. Evan
  15. Just use a hole saw. Screw a piece of metal behind the area to be cut to support it and use a big holesaw. What are you talking about getting the bumper off? Evan
  16. For what its worth, my air filter is located outside the engine compartment. I also had serious interior heat issues in my S14 with the swap. Then I figured out that my damn heater core solenoid was shot. The heat had been on in my car all the time for over a year. Hell I drove in atlanta heat with the heat on! God it was terrible LOL. Dumbass story for the day. Evan I am now running a single 10" pusher and my car has not overheated with stock radiator.
  17. I rembember the first time I saw James' car at SEZ years ago. I was wondering what the story was with the funny shaped hole in the hood... then he closed it LOL. To this day I am not sure how you made that hole such an irregular size and good fit LOL. I got my silicone couplers off of the bay from vertex I think. Good quality and good prices on clamps. Look exactly like my old turbonetics ones. Sorry for the threadjack but has anyone seen how they do the srt4 intercoolers? The endtaks have a gentle bend back to bring the outlet of the IC facing straight back. I am considering that for my S14. I have intercooler envy. Evan I have the ebay intercooler, the best thing about it is when I smashed it into the ground on a speed bump I did not care haha. It took the impact well though. Bent up the bottom plate. I don't think its leaking. Hmm maybe I should check that.
  18. Scary part is that I am running off the top of my boost gauge! Good news is I show no knock. I am working on a plan to pull my exhaust manifold and cut/weld on a flange for my tial external gate. I am going to be careful in the meanwhile. Evan
  19. It seems I do have an overboosting problem. Performance varies at the same boost levels as well though. First I need to sort out the boost issue. I guess its possible that its cranking out pretty high HP #s when it overboosts. Evan
  20. Good call on the harness, I will make sure its not rubbing where it goes through the firewall. Evan I just picked up some foam pipe insulation and this sweet foil backed fiberglass type stuff that I can wrap around the maf. Not ideal, but for $15 bucks maybe it will shed some light on whats happening. One of my pipes runs right behind the radiator inside the engine bay. I am going to cover that in the foam. If I see any positive results Ill put more time/money into doing it right.
  21. I never seem to have my laptop when it goes rich. The colder it gets the faster the car is. I am actually wondering if on hot days my tires are warmer and hooking up better, putting me in a different area of the map that I did not tune so well. I am going to watch for that too. I took apart my entire harness when i did the swap, this issue has been around for along time its just now that I have decided it drives me crazy. Ill let you know if anything comes up. Ill try some insulator this weekend. Evan
  22. Thats whats leading me to think that its engine compartment heat. Power FC is really showing nothing abnormal. Evan No leaks at the FPR.
  23. Well I drove again tonight and power is definitely coming back as it cools outside. My coolant temps are the same. I think it has something to do with engine compartment heat and my blow through MAF setup. My maf is isolated from the exhaust manifold by a heat shield but I am thinking some wrap may be in order. I may try to find something at the hardware store that will work to test my theory. Fiberglass with foil backing would be good. Evan
  24. 18psi on 275/35/18s results in massive wheel spin anywhere in second gear. No idea on actual power. This is on its "good" days though. I am going to start carrying my laptop religiously to find out whats going on. Evan
  25. I thought that it may be coolant temp sensor too, but the power FC shows consistent temperatures and nothing abnormal. Thanks though! - Evan
