  1. I highly reccommend against financing any of your project. Just my opinion. Evan
  2. Dude, if I get two do I get 2x the horsepower? LOL. Mike knows what he is talking about... get what he says. His car is retarded fast. Evan
  3. zcars dont use intank pumps (generally) unless you make it work. Evan BTW, awesome deal on the motor. If the paint is as good as it looks in your photo the price you paid for the car was reasonable.
  4. Are you reusing head bolts? Your not supposed too unless your using ARP studs. Evan
  5. Is that the stock vette shroud over the top 1/3 the radiator? I think something like that would work really well with my FMIC setup I have now, because part is blocked by the bumper support. Evan
  6. Why not find a local welder who does good mig work? Prep and make the replacement part. Pay him an hour or so labor to weld it in. Evan BTW, i have a shop who does that for me in IL. its a small local shop that does exhaust work actually.
  7. Grumpy, phenomenal garage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a dream shop! Evan
  8. They look just like my old bimmer recaros, except the front of the bimmer recaros slid out to support thighs better. I drove those seats from chicago to the first SEZ. God they are comfortable. Evan
  9. I had the same thing happen years ago before I attended SEZ with my zcar. I got the radiator rodded out, popped it into the car and drove to 'bama with no problems. Evan
  10. Point is, its not the right way to do it. I am sure alot of those kids over there take alot of pride in thier cars, and would prefer to have a long lasting solution. Evan Also, water enters filler through the rear of the repair so it really would not matter if it was covered in paint. Nice job in your car, it should last you along time!!!
  11. Sick of jacking around with overboosting problems. I know what I need to do. I had the same setup on my 240z. I need to do it on my rb25det, and I already bought a second exhaust manifold to work on and get the wastegate flange welded to. I gotta get someone to weld an elbow into my cast exhaust manifold. I know I could look on the net for welders, but was hoping someone would know of a good specific person who could do it. I live in Madison, WI. Thanks guys - Evan
  12. I think he was saying the powder was on the outside of the motor, under the coils. Didn't say he pulled the plugs. Evan
  13. Uhh is this in an S14? You can fit a 275 width tire under basically stock fenders with the right wheels on an S14. I know nothing about narrowing a rear end in an IRS car. Evan
  14. Hey buddy, sorry your still having trouble. I put some thought into it. Are you sure your system is flowing well coolant wise? The only thing I can think that would cause that fast of a pressure change would be from heat... from burning out or high revs. Your really heating up that coolant. I would make sure your radiator is not partially plugged or something like that. Could the opposite be happening too? Maybe the pump cavitates (too much turbulence) and the water does not flow through the jackets fast enough? Did you change your thermostat? Evan
  15. Sounds like you need to adjust your clutch pedal free play. Either that or the throwout bearing isn't seated well on the fork for the clutch release. Evan
  16. yeah, kid gets an A for effort thats for sure. I guess I am willing to teach anyone with the initiative to try and learn about certain things. I wish I had known body work as well as I do now 10 years ago. I may still have my z if that was the case. Evan
  17. Is the engine already mounted up? Only a tape measure will tell, +/- one inch is not that close really. Good luck! Evan
  18. I also know guys who hooked it into their exhaust systems and used the scavenging effect to pull stuff out of the valve covers. I have mine routed into a catch tank with no connection to my intake with no problems. Been like that for about two years now. Evan
  19. There is an enormous difference between the 20 trans and the 25 externally. The size is very different. 25 tranny weighs enough to make me wish I had a trans jack. RB20det trans is very close size wise to an L series 5 speed. Evan
  20. Trust me, I won't get involved in any post wars. I am hardly attached to that forum. Just seems to me like mis-information is spreading like wildfire. BTW, I wasn't a total jerk when I posted about the turbocharged car thing, but asked the kid to back up his opinion. Trial and error is a waste when the method you are trying just flat doesn't work. I spoke to a mod and volunteered to do a quick DIY on the right way to remove rust. He is all for it. Evan
  21. It hurts me to visit that site, Ill go post over there again for the good of the crowd though. I just got done calling someone out for saying turbocharged cars cost more to maintain and are unreliable. idiot. I just posted over there to correct some of the misinformation. Would be a shame if I just let it slide. Evan
  22. http://www.acura-cl.com/forums/showthread.php?t=179103 This is a sticky at acura-cl.com This site is packed with misinformation and 16 year old fanboys.. Evan
  23. Your engine clearly has a cocaine problem. I had some of that funk in my motor too, no big deal IMO. Clean it out and move on! Evan
  24. Looks good. Only potential problem I see is that you may not be able to get that valve cover off with the turbo so close! I imagine if you run into that kinda trouble you will have to pull the turbo anyway. Nice ride. Evan
