Guys, here is a picture of the hatch of my z with my subwoofer enclosure. That sub is an audiobahn alum12x and the amps you see in the back are butler tube drivers, the thing in the back is my crossover. I used balanced cables, so they didnt look very clean. This is dirty, nasty picture but i figured id share anyways. Evan PS.. pics of kicks installed soon to come, they are undergoing the final sand.

Chase sorry bout the last post. There is nothing not proven about a supra motor. As for the application, whos gonna prove it? We have too So help the cause chase, pull your motor tonight! LOL Evan
-
Pointless? right.. I would do the supra swap in a heartbeat if i had the money and time. I have a built L28t, and still wouldnt pull up next to a supra. SCARY. Supra and v8 is a totally different bag. Sure the end result either way is fast, but the supra motor is just something differnt that can make tons of HP for about the same money you would blow on an L28t

how much have you spent on the conversion?
Evan Purple240zt replied to a topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
I did a turbo conversion obviously and i have my figures around 20,000$ by the time all is said and done. Now, we all know that there is NO finished. I also have about 5000$ in car audio equipment in there that im not counting because it all comes right out if i really need the cash. Evan PS.. to anyone wanting to go turbo. It all depends on how much HP you want to make. IF you want something somewhat tame, turbo is economical. If you want 400+ hp, its gonna be cheaper v8 imo. -
It was stated before that the 240 fuel tank did not have a return line. That is incorrect. It has a return line. I would not try to run that much fuel through those dinky lines though. I used the factory fuel supply line to return and ran half inch aluminum line to the tank for the feed. The stock tank wont flow enough fuel for a turbo setup. The inlet/outlet is too small. You will need a tank out of a 280 w/fullsize spare tire. Scottymiz, im a turbo guy too I have NOT had time to finish tuning my motor. Spring will come soon enough though. Evan

Through use of 9mm 240z rods and a diesel crank. IMO not worth your time or money. The added HP is not THAT much money and turbo or V8 is a much more cost effective option. Evan PS.. bob hanvey used to have a webpage detailing the build up and what he thought of the end result.

377 short block for $800 Anyone??
Evan Purple240zt replied to Peternell's topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
JOE VERNA huh??? Hey dude, its Evan. I used to live in st. charles and you bought a set of red doors for your car from me ALONG time ago. Remember? Sounds like your project is coming along nicely. Mine is no longer yellow/primer too!! Evan PS.. email me if you would like to see my progress. I sold the n/a motor to do a full blown forged hybrid turbo motor. -
Hey Scottie, James anybody else help me out please!
Evan Purple240zt replied to a topic in Turbo / Supercharger
Norm dont even play with the head bolts. SOunds like its time for someone to call summit and order a set of ARP studs!!!! Metal headgasket is nice, but id rather have the weak point be my headgasket than my pistons!! Evan Ps.. You considered running and O2 and an A/F gauge norm? One on each cyl. bank will tell you if your going lean for some crazy reason. -
tokico troubles?
Evan Purple240zt replied to jzd14's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
What has been said is true. I had eibach springs on my car before too. For street they were very compliant and comfortable. If you dont plan on autocrossing or loading the car down they should suit you fine. Besides, they have good resale and SCCA can getcha a set of coilovers if you ever decide too Evan -

Toyota MR2 clutch.. my own personal hell.. help
Evan Purple240zt replied to Evan Purple240zt's topic in Miscellaneous Tech
I got it fixed, i guess the motor was NOT supposed to use a pilot bearing. They sent one with the kit and I installed it. I guess its partly my fault. I have no problem with the MR2, im just sick of working on this car! Its also too small for me, my feet get stuck under the dash. Thanks for the assistance - Evan -
anyone interested in carbon fiber parts and such?
Evan Purple240zt replied to a topic in Body Kits & Paint
Id love some Datsun logos in CF. Nice replacemenet for the NOS ones that we pay out the butt for. Probally too difficult to fab though. Evan PS... any body have any good ways to make thes things/ i have ones in decent shape but im just thinking. -
BTW drax, Im too good for any club that would accept me! LOL.. evan

I always found that a rubber mallet whacked along the side of the head broke away the gasket nicely. Dont hit too hard, just break the seal and pull off the head. that rope trick is very cool, if i ever have a head totally jammed on i know what to do now! Evan

Holy icons batman... Anyway, there is stuff called liquid electrical tape. Its this goo in a small can that you paint onto the joint. It worked well in my boat, and is relatively cheap at 8$ a can or so, the can will last forever! Solder those connections, then use this stuff and it works well. Not as pretty as butt connectors and heat shrink but thats what wire loom is for right ? Evan

I have the essex pump. Im sure its the same one. The loudness isnt bad over the sound of my car. Its a low pitched drone really. Besides, when i turn the car on the pump goes BANG... WHRRRRRR... people always ask WTF it was. Kinda makes me laugh for some reason. Evan PS... great pump, but you need to mount it so it doesnt have to pull fuel uphill out of the tank. I have pics of my mount i can get too on monday if you wanna see. Its pretty sweet.

Guys, i just put a 91 MR2 back together with a new clutch in it. Now the old one kinda blew apart and there was no pilot bearing in there. When I recieved my new clutch, it came with a pilot bearing and i installed it. Not the easiest thing, but not too bad either. Heres my problem, The car now wont turn over. The starter tries to spin everything but the flywheel only moves like 1/16 of an inch and pops back. I have NO idea whats going on, but it seems like somethings binding. The gearshifter wont allow me to shift anymore either... I cant figure out whether the problem is related to the "mystery" pilot bearing or something else. If you guys have done an MR2 clutch, or can offer some insight I would greatly apreciate it. Thanks - Evan PS... ill never own an MR2..

SR20DET into a nissan 240sx?
Evan Purple240zt replied to Evan Purple240zt's topic in Nissan 4 Cyl Forum
Yep! No emissions testing here. Evan -
Guys, is there any way to bench test an autometer tach and an O2 sensor? My gauges have gone wild since the turbo swap. The o2 isnt reading anymore, and the tach is not reading, just hovering around 5k and varying with the speed of alternator and what voltage using items i have on. Its very wierd but i may have something hooked up wrong. Ive tried a couple times. I think they may have gone south... Evan
