  1. Thanks james, I am a pretty good welder but will definitely get alot of practice before making one of these things. Are equal length primaries a must? Or will there be an improvement even with something more simple and basic that flows better?? On a side note, your manifold almost looks like a SU carb intake manifold! cool. Thanks guys... Evan ....
  2. Cool, the same stuff i used to create my intercooler plumbing. Im kinda doing this for fun, and experience. Keeps me out of trouble ya know LOL. Thanks for the replies guys, the truck headers look badass! Im thinking of using an old header flange from an L6 motor for a flange. I can find someone with a crapazz looking header im sure.   5. I know it wouldnt be totally ideal but i would like to have a turbo exhaust header and make it myself. Just kinda looking for a zcar winter project. If im crazy tell me, if im not let me know the best way to go. I know corky bell talks about weld el's but im also worried about the thing cracking all the time. Evan
  6. Ron i have a freind in TX running NOS that has done it. I have seen pictures. Unfortuantely the rearend blows up after like two runs or something breaks. Its a full drag car btw. IE no dash and stuff. Ev

  10. I like webbers, but never wanted the tuning hassel. Its pretty expensive to do yourself, IE.. jetting and stuff is hard for the unexperienced like myself. I went the ztherapy SUS and never looked back! They are awesome quality, and work wonderfully. I dont have em anymore but i really did like them before i went turbo. Evan PS.. .To do it again i would use an SDS programmable FI. More expensive but great tunability and driveability.

Suspension/wheels -Ground control coilovers -17x8 OZ monte's with 245-40-17 re730 potenzas -MSA swaybar kit -Tokico illuminas -Strut tower bars -Urathane (of course) Engine -L28 turbo -turbonetics hybrid -Greddy profec a boost controller -boost, egt and a/f gauge along with fuel pressure and that crap. -NPR I/C -Nissan T5 trans -3" mandrel exh. with dynomax loud azz muff. -SX fuel pump/regulator -Forged lower end with comp at 8.5 to one and bored to 2.95 liters -SDS management -audi wastegate on a pipe welded into the stock exhaust manifold. -Electric fan conversion (painless rules!) -delco CS130 alternator -blah blah Stereo -Tube driver amps, crossover and line driver -Behinger DSP8024 (pro audio, but converted to 12v) -Vifa components in custom kicks -Clarion 9255 cd player -Neutrik balanced cables for the TD stuff. -Audiobahn 12" aluminum cone in the hatch in the spare tire well in a custom glas enclosure. Well, thats pretty much all im bringing to the table. Just got the alternator working again so its time to finish base tuning and apply some BOOOOST. Evan

  14. I have to say, after seeing alot of pictures and information the v8 just HAS to work better than the L6 in autocross. The SR20DET would be interesting too. I think its even lighter and its a lowly four banger. You probally need that torque for the track though. I used to "frown" upon V8 conversions because i was hardcore datsun. Well im still an inliner. I have learned that the badass thing about the z is how versatle is can be. You can fit ANYTHING in that engine compartment!!! I love the z for its lines, and possiblities. Not what it was when it was produced! V8 dude.. do it - Evan PS... do the transes way more than the L6 ones? Never dealt with one before.
  15. Whatsup mang.. Bascially yes it will fit without too much problem. be ready for custom motor mounts and everything else associated with the swap. I THINK someone else is runnin that motor.. .stony perhaps? I am considering one for a 240sx my buddy has. The going rate seems to be 4 to 5 k and im sure you could build an absoluetly wicked GN motor, V8 or turbo motor for the price of the stock sr motor. Also keep in mind that you are limited to japspec parts so they arent so easy to get in the states. I am running a turbo powerplant btw... Hope this helps - Evan
  16. Nitrous on an L motor aint no new thing. James 240ztt has done it before. The only reason i see nitrous as useless is due to traction. If it were a full t4 id be all over that like flies on crap. We will see what the coming week holds for my engine. I havent run boost yet, no alternator for a few months. WEll tis up and running like a charm so im going to do some tuning!! Evan
  17. Guys I am SERIOUSLY considering the GN powerplant for my buddies project 240sx. The jap spec 2.0 is cool but ive never seen a gn motor in one. I need weights on the trans and motor, dimensions to see if it will fit and any other relavant information that will help me ensure that this will fit in the engine bay with the auto tranny behind it.   18. Hey guys, one of my buddies is paying me some good money to build him a rice rocket 240sx. We already have the car and plan to get a sr20det for it. My question is whether any of you have done this, seen it done, or know where a good place to get the power plant is. I figured its a hybrid so why not ask. GEE, i wonder if the grand national motor might fit! Whew, may be a change of plans here. Just thought about that. Ill have to take some measurements.   20. Hey dude, i noticed a difference with my urathane bushings too. They tend to transfer more noise and vibration. That COULD be what your noticing. Evan PS.. mine doesnt vibrate, make sure your halfshafts and drive shaft arent coming loose! Mine LOVE to do that.

  23. Clint, blaupunkt makes some very good equipment for the price. They have a new class-T line that should be shipping soon. Its all digital. The amps are VERY clean, extremely small, and put out so little heat you could easily pack foam around one and not have it overheat. Pretty cool eh? - Evan PS.. I had a set of quart components in my truck. They really take abuse. It took me 4 years to blow a tweet. Man was that long overdue. I was way overpowering those speakers.
