  1. March 6, 2008: I just got the car back last weekend, so it's assembly time. For those who have known me for a while know that this has been one long and painstakingly slow project. Alas, it seems that I've finally hit the final stretch. I've been doing the R&R on the suspension, cleaning & painting everything and assembly is underway. I'll keep an assembly log here, so here I go. The goal is to have all the suspension done and engine & trans installed and sitting on the ground. Then I can start doing all the little stuff. Stay tuned for more.
  2. I don't want to hijack the thread, so I'll start up a thread covering the current assembly of the car. I started a thread on the assembly here: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=131182
  3. I'm partial to the California Wing.
  4. As I am currently doing the rear bearings while painting all the suspension, I found that when I jacked up the car there was an actual knock or clunk when I shook the tire. With axles disconnected and no brakes touching, they should rotate smoothly and not make any noise or spin too easily. It was pulling the outer bearings from the stub axles that sucked, but not too bad. Do it now while it's apart, new parts with a good, high pressure synthetic grease should make them last for a long time. You can get bearings with seals for both sides for about $145 from Parts America.
  5. Are you familiar with the current cost of paint materials? I'm into my body & paint for $10k and that's half of what my buddy just spent on his Z. DOH! Of course, that was everything painted as a rolling shell, so not just an exterior paint job. As for tax returns, the Fed got a whole whopping $100 out of me and I got everything else back. Gotta love business ownership, especially a home based dot com business! Just sayin'.
  6. Inlet & outlet of my radiator is the same as a stock radiator.
  7. Has anyone on here installed this conversion on their S30? I like the idea of getting rid of the tension rods and cleaning things up. Any input and/or pics are appreciated. http://store.zraceproducts.com/mountinghardwareparts.php
  8. I'm running the 4 core HD radiator from MSA and use the following radiator hoses and are Gates #s: 21588 & 21712
  9. They go down to the bottom of the frame rail or so. Here they are on my LS6.

  11. Yep, I'd just bend it to match. My setup was aligned nicely, as you can see in the pic.
  12. I've seen several sets of LCA that have the ends ground off and look very similar to the billet LCAs as shown above. It really doesn't affect them by cutting off the end, as they are attached with the 4 bolts, so you'd have to have loose bolts to ever really have an issue and you'd most like hear or feel that. I'd grind them way back, if I had that issue, but that's just me.
