  1. I'm running a Tec2, but you should go with megasquirt. Cheaper, more tech support, map sharing, easier to set up, and more parameter values can be set with the MS (I have 64 boxes for my AFR, VE, Timing ADV, etc. tables - I know the MS has more...I want to say 128, but I may be wrong.)
  2. That happened to me just last week. Ever since I picked up my last Z (the 1976 in my sig) a couple of months ago, the interior reeked of cat piss, so I assumed it was just in the carpet, which was being replaced anyways. Wrong. While stripping the interior, I removed the passenger seat to find the skeletal remains of a mouse underneath its pile of aged hair. He made a nest out of seat cushioning from the bottom seat and stuffed it underneath the raised area that the rear of the seat bolts to. He was stuck to the car, so I had to get a stick to pry him off and throw him away...I'll admit, I got a little squeamish in the midst of handling this rodent. So, check your freakin' cars too, because you never know.
  3. I agree, sell the car as a whole. If you could PM me a price as well, I'd appreciate it. I'd sell all my Zs to own your one.
  4. "The page you are seeking has expired and is no longer available at msnbc.com. "
  5. Wow that brings back memories - I was a lurker then. It changed to another format before this one.
  6. It's still a work in progress, but I guess it's a little custom:
  7. If you use the L28 from the cancerous 280zx, you can turbo it for cheap...should be much less than an RB swap. Just go megasquirt for power, ease of operation, and gas mileage. Then you'd still have a good foundation to work with should you want future upgrades. If none of that interests you, the next cheapest upgrade to get you to your power levels is nitrous...
  8. Wow, so you save $26k just by working for Nissan! I need to quit working on Fords and move over there!
  9. Happy birthday you old fart! Take a break from lifting that heavy-@ss R230 today, you can worry about it tomorrow - my treat
  10. Oooh, good point - maybe the other ones I saw were C4 or late C3 rear ends. This one has a better angle and looks very similar to mine...observe: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CORVETTE-BARE-DIFFERENTIAL-CASE63-79_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33731QQihZ024QQitemZ370084310305QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Cool, now I need to see what my gear ratio is Thanks!
  11. Sure, here's all I have with my cell cam so far: Included were these professional droop limiters
  12. It came in one of my Zs already and I'm trying to figure out what exactly it is. I assumed it was a C3 rear end setup, but I've never seen one in person and the pictures I've seen online didn't match up. Thanks
  13. Absolutely menacing...your car has risen to an entirely new level as a flagship for the Datsuns. Stop teasing us and post some more vids of this beast!!!
  14. Yep, I just installed a 5-speed out of an '81 280zx n/a on my L26 without any issues, other than cutting the opening in the transmission tunnel for the shifter. But, I think with yours being a 5-speed out of a '77, you shouldn't need to do any trimming.
  15. I was looking at buying one of those, but as soon as I drove it I changed my mind. It was a blast to drive, but I'm a tall guy and it was really uncomfortable. It made me lose hope on the Lotus Elise, also. That's gotta be one of the biggest reasons why I stick with the old Datsuns - small but plenty of room. Anyways, really nice car. It took me a while to get used to the tach, also.
  16. Tim240z doesn't talk much anymore
  17. Remember that extra engine and tranny that I've been trying to find storage for? Well, this one looks like it would be a great shell for me to drop them into.
  18. There's currently a Datsun for sale in Copper Canyon that I would like someone to go check out for me. I'll pay you $50 for your time/gas, and if you think it's a worthy buy, I'll request that you pay the seller $50 as a deposit to hold on for me to pick it up. Basically - I'll pay you $50 regardless if I buy it or not, but if I decide to buy it, I'd like for you to pay the seller $50 and I'll give you $100 instead of $50. If you're interested, please reply here and I'll PM you with further information and details. The sooner the better. Thanks!
  19. Why would I resurface the flywheel if I'm using the same clutch disc? All I changed was the pressure plate. Say for example I upgrade to a stronger brake caliper, but re-use the old, stock pads. It wouldn't make sense for me to resurface the rotors. Am I missing something?
  20. Alright, I just finished installing the ACT PP. I haven't driven the car yet, but I can agree that the pedal feel much stiffer, and I had to adjust the slave cylinder push rod almost all the way out to get full disengagement approximately an inch from the floorboard. I know this had been covered before, and apparently I needed a longer t/o bearing and a Pathfinder slave...but for others it worked well. Oh well, I'll see how I adjust to the new feel first. Anyways, the question: 1) Is there a break-in period if you just install the pressure plate? I was thinking the break-in was for the clutch/flywheel to properly break in...is this correct, or do I need to do a few hundred miles city driving first? I'd love to go test this baby out tonight!
  21. Wow, I'd buy it like that for $3500
  22. I thought he ran a Daikin? I remember him backing you up on the "upgrade PP before clutch disc". I looked for other opinions on the daikin but coudn't really find much.
  23. I remember you saying this before, but IIRC you were talking to someone that wanted an upgrade for an 190-200hp n/a autoX car. The reason why I'm thinking just the disc is because in my head a 6-puck disc should be able to take more abuse than the stock one with a larger pressure plate. But I'm usually not correct with these things, which is one reason why I posted this How much do you think an upgraded PP with the OEM clutch could hold? Plus, I'm not sure how many miles the current disc has on it.
  24. I've been running the stock 240mm setup for a while, but recently I've been tuning it for 18psi and, needless to say, it started slipping pretty bad. Now it breaks loose at 9psi in 3rd gear, so I need to replace it. I plan on upgrading to a larger turbo in the future, but for now I plan on keeping the same setup. This is on my '72 240z turbo, mostly stock. I'm thinking about just buying the ACT 6-puck clutch disk while retaining the factory pressure plate, but what potential problems could this create? Has anyone else here done this? I've searched, but I think the only one I found was Big-Phil with an unsprung disc.
  25. Now does it have a secondary function as a stationary sentry gun that can be thrown on walls? (laptop gun from Perfect Dark) Seriously that is freaking cool! *edit* 50 seconds into the video demonstrates what I'm talking about (yeah, I'm bored)
