  2. Well im 20 years old and the reason i got a Z was that it is awesome. I also found a decent deal and it had fairly low miles. 100,000 its a 81 zxt. I am enjoying it very much and have stripped down the engine as much as i am willing right now. just alternator and water pump on the belt. I also have an 1984 montero sport for a dd. but needs the tranny put back in it. should be in tomorrow. but cant wait for summer and the salt to be off the roads so i can drive the Z agian.

  4. I have a simple question and im sure it has been answered but i have been looking all over and using the search function but cant find the answer. My question is what MSD Tach converter do i need for a 81 zx. I have MSD al 6 ignition. hope thats enough. thanks in advance

  6. you could always put them in then brake. that would get rid of it. if is just surface rust its no big deal i get the on my bike some times. just breaking once and its gone. but as said if its anything more major contact seller
  7. for that price i wouldnt do it. you can get enough HP to have fun without stroking. just my .02
  8. yep i would make sure to use plastigauge my brother and i just rebuilt his KA24de its not to hard it was the first one we did. just make sure you have a book and follow some sort of direction. and follow spec on torque good luck
  9. i seem to be noticing a similar problem it bounces around but i dont think its effecting much. a least as far as i can tell. I have about 100,000 miles and replace oil frequently. IDK I would just do everything mentioned and maybe the screen on the pump is fouled. best of luck
  10. Ill tell you its a bad idea if you want.. but really i think it would be sweet. I would put some sort of cage in there but im assuming you will do that if you are planning to drag it. so go for it and post pics when you start.
  11. i would say do the NSX and maybe halfway through you have enough money again and can just get the Z and that way you have one there but arent working on it yet. If you are concerned with rarity. but really I would do the NSX to start a carrer. You have to look at it like if it turns into a career at some point you will probably have a project that isnt your favorite but has to be done. get the NSX out of the way launch a career and then come back to you Z
  12. if it runs and idles i would say that the fuel and spark is ok but i would have to go with nismopick and say that its throttle position sensor or timing
  13. yep i agree its a ground i have had a few problems similar in my 81. threw an extra ground on there and it seams to be fine
  14. I have eibach 1 in lowering springs and tokico struts. I also just replaced all my bushings with poly ones. also no power steering, no ac, replace stock air filter new fuel rail and stainless braided fuel lines but there is so much more i want to do
  15. thats crazy i would be scared to roll the throttle on the street.
