  1. Did any early '87 Turbos with LSD ever come without the finned cover. I know the LSD came out after 4/87 so I wonder if any ever left the factory without the fins. I'm going to look at a supposed original LSD from a '87 Turbo car being parted out and both axles do turn when you turn one by hand BUT no finned cover.
  2. Since I have the suspension all apart on the 280 and will be doing the MM 240sx rear brakes with the large Toyota/300 vented rotors in the front, am I going to need to install some longer wheel studs for wheel spacers to clear those large front calipers? TIA
  3. Dude, after reading this entire thread was this issue ever solved? I've read a bunch of threads now about resets and this is the very thing that has me nervous about going with Megasquirt. Is MSII more robust than MS1? BTW, I'm considering using a set or Turbo Supra 440 injectors (3 ohms)that I picked up for my build and wondering if I'm asking for more problems with them?
  4. Please send a pic to my email. Thanks, Scott
  5. Good news on the tach. I didn't want another project trying to figure out how to get the tach to work too. So do I understand correctly that most guys are eliminating the cooling lines to the throttle body?
  6. I've been reading through the MS threads and read where there can be problems with getting the factory tach to work, at least when using a different ignition system like EDIS. Can someone confirm if there any problems with getting the factory tach to work when using the stock turbo dizzy with MS 1 or MS 2. I've been on the fence on which MS to purchase, the cost difference is pretty minimal and it seems like MS2 is becoming widely used now. My main concern has been with reading about some guys having stability issues with the units and needing to occasionaly reload software when the system hickups, certainly not very ideal for a driver. Can this be due to a grounding issue or wires not shielded properly? Also is there any reason you can not or should not use a stock idle Valve with MS 1 or 2?
  7. Just search for the pull-a-part or pick-a-part yards where you remove the parts.
  8. I'm looking to buy a Turbo Dizzy shaft from a '82-'83 engine, please PM me, thanks.
  9. If one of your short blocks is decent, I would just have a head rebuilt for about $250 instead of screwing around with another used motor.
  10. Scott,

Payment was sent to your paypal account under scott@scottsvettetalk.com . Apologized for the serious delay since it took this while for the check I deposited last week clears out my account. Thanks.

  11. No, you need to use a weld through primer in your weld areas then POR or epoxy prime everything else to prevent future rust issues. Don't forget the seam sealer too.
  12. Wow, lots of good points to consider. I do like the idea of a clean install with one cable like Rolling Parts pointed out. Now you got me thinking about EDIS too, sounds like another project to figure out, not to mention do I stick with the proven and stable MS-1 PCBV3 w/ MSnSE or make the jump to the newer MSII?
  13. Thanks 'trip', I'll keep it in mind, still looking for an "O" ring rail.
  14. Are they the same as a 77 280 if so I should have an extra one. I'll take a pic of it. Shoot me an email and I'll send it later tonight.
  15. I don't think you can go wrong with modern motorsports.
  16. Thanks Quin, I should have clarified that I'm looking for a rail to fit the N42 manifold and 440cc injectors, Palnet, JSK etc.
