  1. Ross, Did you ever figure out a price for your fiberglass dash? You said something about a group buy in another thread. Thanks, Rufus
  2. In a bunch of papers I found with my car I found the name of a guy I think may have done the V8 swap to my car. Jack Marsh is his name and he lived in Vashon Washington. Ring any bells? May have been involved with a company called Z specialties. EDIT: I forgot to mention he lived in Vashon. Thanks, Rufus
  3. Looking through some documents I got with the car I found the original window sticker as well as the original bill of sale. Check them out here and here. Thought it was pretty cool, he traded in a 260 for the 280.
  4. Mike Did you do a lug swap or are these wheels made to fit the oem datsun lug layout?
  5. Anodized!!! Thats what I ment when I said powdercoat That was the look I had in my head. Where you can see thru the color to the metal underneath!!! That would be sweet!!
  6. Dan, Thanks for the pics!! Do you share the thought that copying ones design is the highest form of flattery? I predict there will someday be at least a couple people that will attempt to recreate the beautiful car you have created. Can't wait to see it in person!!! Anybody know the best place to shop for plane tickets? I will be at the MSA show!! Rufus
  7. I have been trying not to think about it to be honest. My car is in pieces... I am getting ready to do all kinds of mods...If after I spend all kinds of dough... it still reaks... I will NOT be happy!!!
  8. Happy New Year!!! Here's to a productive year at the garage!! Lots of this... None of this...
  9. How about a pic? I would love to see it. How about a dark powdercoat? Rufus
  10. My tip points down no difference. Someone suggested putting a 90° bend pointing outward( toward the wheel) I have not tried this asa of yet. Your fumes wont have anything to do with an oil leak. Burning oil stinks but nothing like exhaust. Rufus
  11. Right after I posted I thought...I wonder if he is the guy doing the 8.8 As I said in an earlier post I was considering using the same type. But you said "solid axle" 8.8's are IRS are they not? I am confused. What year exploder and is it LSD?
  12. Where in Oaklahoma? I want to get the front one fixed as it is even worse than the one I sold you!!! j/k...I would appreciate a link or phone #. Rufus
  13. Very Nice Man!!! Beautiful engine bay...what type/year is the motor? What kind of rearend are you using? MikeKz said his was a lot of work...how about yours? I love seeing Z's in this state...it makes me want to do more to mine...all in due time!!! Rufus
  14. NICE RIDE MAN!!! Where is that bumper? The website looks a bit different, what is the storage capacity? What year is your car it is almost the same as mine. I have the same whells that are currently on your car. Did you have to do a lug swap to the Honda pattern? What kind of wheels are they? Rufus
  15. DEEP, so if I have this right...mount surface moved toward the street side is positive offset - mounting surface dead centere of the wheel zero offset - mounting surface moved toward the car side negative offset. Is this correct?
  16. Thanks Dan!! I look forward to seeing her in person and getting to meet some of you guys. Did you choose your bodyshop from expieience or were they recomended? That is a huge advantage with the west it seems. Lots of good body places to choose from. It is difficult to find a body shop around here that has anything like what you refer to as an "artist"!! Have a good one!! Rufus
  17. So... where they have tapped in for power for your radio must be directly off of your TS power. Unfortunately by disconnecting all your wiring you may have confused the tech. You are not pulling my leg with this post are you? I have been fooled into trying to help people on this site in the past only to find out it was a joke. I hope not. I suggest removing anything that has to do with the radio, and seeing if then you can get your TS working again. Then I would worry about the radio. If you are still having trouble in a couple of days, I will be at my shop and I can look at and take pics of the wires you are talking about. Rufus
  18. Dan, I saw your car in another post and since I know from expierience that you do not like to "hijack someone's thread" I thought I would say it here. YOUR CAR ROCKS!!!! It is beautiful man!! I was wondering... what taillights did you settle on? They look very familiar!! Are you planning on having it at the MSA show? If so it would erase all questions I might have about if I will go or not. I know Tim will have his car there, and that alone might be enough to get me out there but... if BOTH of these awesome rides are going to be there, then I will be too!! Rufus
  19. Sorry for my ignorance but what is a Q45?
  20. The answer is much easier now... Take it back there and insist they fix it. If it worked prior to your visit then they are obviously responsible. If you have the resources, and do not trust the 16 year olds who work at circut city, take it to a electrical shop, have them fix the problem, and then have someone eles, prefeably a lawyer give them the reciept with promises to sue if they don't pay up!! Sounds like a lot to do but if they are responsible, that is why they carry insurance!!
  21. Have you tried taking the TS switch apart and looking at the contact points? Could be the problem. Mine is funky and need sto be wiggled once in a while to work. Also look at all the connections...is there any corrosion in the connectors? High resistance from corroded connectors could also be a problem. What did you have done? A radio installed?
