  1. ok... this might be a little out of left field..but i was looking at the type 3 also but the weight says 150lbs??? does this thing have actual bumpers?? or is it mounted with some heavy duty brackets?? just curious? i have removed my bumpers and bumpers brackets. did i do an oopsy if i want to mount that airdam?
  2. ROFLMAO!!!! ive thought about the fender mirrors and already decided to put my Hybridz stickers over the holes =0)~
  3. have a few more pics ready for you viewing pleasure...... or hostile comments =0) which ever come first.. now that the clutch, radiator and suspension is done.. body work has commenced. My dad and i stripped the body molding off ( which was in great shape underneath) we decided to try something different with the rivets. Normally we take a little punch and pop in the hole left after drilling out the rivets.. this has led to some waves along the body line that the trim was.. so since we had acces to a welder we decided to weld in the holes which would hopefully lessed the amount of bondo/body work needed. we also removed the lower body trim off which was kinda scary.. every Z we took those skirts off of had tons of rust under since they are riveted on and water collects inbetween and rots it out.. amazingly only once spot had rust. Was a major rust spot but the rest was great. whoever owned this car in Portland, OR must have kept it garaged. all that rain and almost no rust on the car. ok for the welders on here... try not to zing me to bad.. this is my second attempt at welding and we were not sure it was going to work but here ya go The Welder. Door guards removed. random shot of welds and grinding.
  4. Yep sure is... it has an over rider bar on the front bumper which makes it look a little strange.
  5. YEA!!!!! awesome Dan...Glad you and your family are ok!!! house and servers are important but Family is so far above that =0) hopefully no more flare ups.. is the wind still causing issues ?? what about containment in that area??
  6. well this is the first centerforce ive had in this car and i havnt had it out yet since we are doing bodywork and getting it ready to paint... but my Dad has had a centerforce in his z for 12 years now... the same one! it slips a little on just all out drop the clutch and go but high revving quick shifts that we mostly do ....no problems what so ever. He doesnt drag race it ever so hard launches arent a factor... hates replacing u joints =0)
  7. considering the car was from Oregon and i lived there after i bought the car for 7 years its actually amazing how non rusty the car is..i dont have any rust around the rear hatch at all!!
  8. Man those rear flares look GREAT!!
  9. Jumped in with both feet .... pulled the bumpers, fabricated a new grill to fill in the mid section, pulled the tranny and installed a new centerforce, put in a new G Force tierod end links and installed a new 3 core radiator. heres a few pics for the eyeballs.. cleaning and prepping the flywheel.. bolting up the centerforce... All DONE!! and while tranny was out.... put in new end links on tie rods.. finished with new boots Brand new 3 core radiator for $120. which i thought was a great price. pictures of the fabbed up grill are coming once we get it painted and mounted. =)
  10. Definately looks better with the bumper tucked in close... and i like where you put the turn signals at. =)
  11. I am really digging the two tone look... Great color screme !!!
  12. youve got to be kidding me... ive been looking for centers for about 8 years that fit correctly... oh boy =0)
  13. Well that looks familiar ....except yours are in way better condition =) yours look polished while mine are satin. i run 225/60 all the way around on Toyo's. http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=7339&cat=658
  14. quick question... i notice over the rear wheel the normal "hump" following the body line is gone... did you just take the sheet metal off and weld in your own wide body piece or is that a fiberglass mold?? looks a bit strange with just a straight bodyline there but amazing work none the less! MOre pics of the interior please =0)
  15. ummmm unique... really really unique..
  16. Is this the AWD version??? not really related but its my favoraite car to drive on Forza 2 for the xbox 360 =0)
  17. Ummm anyone else notice how many front wheels the Elves need to steer with??????
  18. Heres some scans i took... check out the headers length coming up and over..wayyyy to many man hours to even contemplate for me.. but hand built items usually are heavy on the man hours. and a close up of the headers...
  19. Yea the man hours were a killer but i would still like to hear this thing.... something about the pulse band reminds me of something i read about older ferrari's.. i bet it really screams!
  20. Anyone read the article about Andrew Nelson's 260z in this month issue of grassroots motorsports??? Really neat header design idea if you havnt read it... and its just kewl to see a Z competting in the Low Buck challenge!
  21. Just a quick cell phone video of my 77 after putting the new 5 speed in it..new fuel injectors on and a tune up. stock FI with mild FI cam from MSA. this is headed up on on ramp going over some train tracks so its a little slower than normal but the gearing is pretty good now with the 5 speed but a little tall i think the ddrag racers would think.... the last thing i say is "top of third now".. sorry for the quality.. was the only thing i had with me. something seems pretty kewl to me with the ability to hit triple digits in 3rd gear in a 5 speed car =0) http://www.t-mobilepictures.com/PaulH1970/_entry/8a38a9d10f962464010fa5dad8e23a03/ps/ENTRY/EDITENTRY?foneblog=1181308020587
  22. You know what i love best about his car.... i mean besides the ungodly amount of attention to detail and perfection that this car shows....Speed standing still and other large discriptive phrases i cant think of.... it has antique car liscense plate..that just kills me LOL
  23. Hes always liked the lifted rearend.... kinda muscle carish look... he did put some motorsport comp springs all aound a few years after that 2nd pic was taken. that brought the front down pretty good. really have to watch the speed bumps cause of the rake with the higher rear.
