dealers stiil can order these parts and they arent to expensive.some states like california require these parts for smog test.which isnt bad because nissan will stock them in the warehouse if they sell them.i just ordered a new oem pcv hose for my turboz because i dont like cobbled up stuff.

if you need fuel rate turned up you need to take injector pump to a diesel pump shop-there should be a shop in your area because tractors use diesel injector pumps.if you put a lot more fuel into the engine you need a pyrometer becuase an over-fueled diesel will melt itself down.if the vehicle is smoking alot of times it a an injector in poor condition with a bad spray pattern.i have had diesel vw rabbits and a 7.3 na ford pu.if you change the injector timing and fuel rate theses engines will run good if the pump and injectors are at new spec or better.i got a pump and injector set rebuilt for a rabbit for a customer because some gasoline got ran through it.car ran great-but the pump timing was advanced a little.the diesel shops have pump dynos and injector spray test equipment.

i have been running an additive called pro-blend you get from speed shops.i put some in my van that i bought used and it ran cooler on the same day i put it in.i ran it in a 87 ford ranger with a 2.9 and had to do a valve job on it due to sunken exhaust valve seat after about 300,000 miles.cylinder walls still had hone marks.the additive is supposed to be added every 12,000 miles but i put it in once a year.

injectors for z are called hose barb style injectors.others that will fit are bosch 0-280-150-036 (about 36lb/hour) or 0-280-150-041(45 lb/hr).036 was used in merc 450 and mercury 2.5l outboards.041 was used on merc 6.9 v8.these are not as common as they are not used on production cars anymore.been looking for them on ebay-not going to happen soon.the ford 42lb lightning truck injectors are all over ebay.

put senders fron l26 onto turbo engine-install engine.all sender holes are pipe thread.on my 280 i didnt even do that.i hooked the 280 gauges to zxt senders.

the mustang guys drag race with them-they will hold up to a z.the zx t5 bellhousing wont bolt up.the input bearing carrier(the part that the throwout brg rides on)is slightly larger than the id of the hole in back of zx bellhousing.but a lathe could fix that quick.any of the hipo clutch places could make a custom disc up.you can buy trans new from summit.if i have any problems with my 82 na trans behind my new turbo motor this is next.the ratio spacing is better on wc trans +better 5th for the freeway.i have a zx t5 bellhousing but i am not selling it.i used to work as a tech at a ford dealer.i tried this on the bench at work.another tech had a 5.0 stang with a vortech supercharger that ran in the high 10'switha wc t5.car made about 80 passes with out trans problems.later found out it was running with out a pilot brg.so i would trust a wc t5 no problem.

got 1 of those from ebay but it was $255 with shipping.i am not complaining because i know what full retail is for a name brand unit.my car isnt going to be in a car show anyway.its my stress relief.

if you have a turbonetics/spearco catalog that unit would be about $800.is there any more of these available?just starting upgrade project on my car -need ic.followed link-bid on another ic for $225 that is slightly larger.

since i take the racing driver seat out of my car for the street(to hard to get out of) i am making a frame to fit the seat,steering wheel,and pedals for my logitech steering wheel.got some square tube laying around.if i was going to buy a new seat for this i would buy a mastercraft or some sort of off road racing seat though because those are comfy.my sparco is kind of hard.

i got one of those emails from a site claiming to be ebay worded like that .some body should get some kind of virus to email them back with that makes their computor lock up and say f^&k you on the screen.its called phishing.

mr ryan-somebody cut or heated the coils.if you get a set of ground control coil overs i can weld the rings on your strut housings .i live in modesto.a properly installed 302 will lighten the front of the car.stop by some time.

i use that set up on my 280z with turbo engine.rotors are drilled and i use porterfield r4 pads .car is used for open track days.no problems with the brakes even on over 100 degree weather.some times i out run trailered in race cars so you know what kind of torture that is.on the rear i use a design products 2 piston willwood set up with 84 300zx rear rotor. -

i like the 82-83 na trans-closer ratios 1to 4 and a better 5th for the freeway.i have a zxt t5 bellhousing but i am saving that to hook a world class t5 to if i need it .the na trans works best for track days though.shifts really good with redline mtl. -
noobs-the reason why i quit going on zcar.com years ago.some of the people posting sounded like computor geeks that didnt now which end of the screw driver to use.since i work on cars for a living reading the same question over again gets boring.this is the best car site on the net.some times i feel like firing off a negative reply to a noob question but i leave that for other members.

cost of housing vs pay in your neighborhood

modesto-80 miles south of sacramanto-80 miles east of sanfrancisco,1 hour by z car to yosemite.2 hours or so to lake tahoe.but my small house is worth some bucks.if you do manual labor work like auto repair your screwed.i quit work at the ford dealer because i was driving to work and spending more money gas then i was making because the stupid management hired too many people and most car mechanics are straight commission.average house here is $300k+.lucky i bought in 1993.there is a plant across town that makes trim parts for the toyota corolla plant in fremont.they pay $8 an hour and everybody speaks spanish there.the bill boards on the roads are in spanish here.time to move.i think i will buy an rv park in mexico.so the retired californians can pay me. -
i live in central california(modesto-ex home of scott peterson).this town is about 70 miles east of the bay area.thanks to the bay area people my house is worth some bucks.but here is the problem-the pay around here sucks.you have to commute to the bay area to make money.i dont want to spend 3 hours a day on the freeway .my neighbor just moved here from kentucky .he was working at some kind of sheet metal manufacturing plant .he said he was making around $20 an hour and his rent was $400 a month.since the houses on my street rent for $1200 a month to get that standard of living i would have to make around $35+ dollars an hour.i am ready to move out of california.my neighbor lives with his mom and sells harleys at the hd dealer.he is ready to move back east again.any good places to live for a auto technician?

i am an ase master auto tech + l1 cert.just take the test-then you will learn what you dont know.also have a 2 year electronics degree and a california smog license.i quit working on cars last year-the pay sucks.learn about what the flat-rate pay system is about.best to keep cars for a hobby.

my girl friend's son has an 2002 ser(not spec v).the 2.4 is really a truck engine-the drive by wire throttle is programmed to make the car touchy at low rpm.do not lower the car if you want it to ride normal-the front struts dont have much travel to start with.car only has 12 gallon tank and doesnt seem to get very far before fill ups.5th gear need more overdrive ratio-its spiining at 80 mph and the engine has enough torque to carry a taller gear.the ser websites say the 6 speed is weak but i would bet that is because of driver abuse.reliabilty good.eats front tires becuase of the drive by wire throttle programmed to make people think its a hot rod.if i was out to buy an econo-hot rod i would probably test drive a turbo neon or a suburu wrx. -
i moved to control arm bolt holes up 3/4" and out 3/4".then i heated the tie rod ends to remove the kink and make them straight.the pivot point for the control arms is very close to the pivot point of the ball sockets on the rack.car drives very good-cars is very easy to drive at the track.this changes the roll center of the front suspension.this is not a common modification because if the car is used for racing most rules (scca) bump the car up into a very expensive(gt2) class.but my car is just a work car/track school car so i dont care.some day i should remove the springs and move the car up and down to check bump steer .

280zx or 810 had a ps pump.it bolted on on the fuel pump hole on the head.
