  1. Yeah it isn't and exact, its more of a prototype right now, I have the main structure built and going to go pick up an RX7 seat tonight (It was free!!) and get it put into main frame then go about setting up my wheel. I think it turned out ok we will see if the conduit will stand up to the weight. The front is 1/2 conduit while the part that goes up and around the back is 3/4s. I tried a harbor freight conduit bender it didn't work. so I had to do the rear part. Crappy Bends Below Good Bends!
  2. SO here is what I am thinking, and I am asking for advise or whether you think it would be do-able. I am thinking about picking up some either 1/2", 3/4", or 1" conduit and using a bender and building something like the setup shown below. Here are my questions is conduit going to be thick enough to handle a seat and the weight of a person. I weigh 170. I think with the bends that will cause it to be ridged enough to take my weight, but I haven't been to the store to look at the conduit. I think I might be able to assemble a sweet cockpit for pretty cheap. I will give a quick mock up of what I am thinking. I was thinking about picking up an AK rocker and dismantling it to put into my system as well. I think I might be trying this pretty soon just wonder what size of conduit to get. I am loking at the frame first, then the steering rack. I am going to go and look at conduit today most likely.
  3. This sounds great, I look forward to seeing what you find out about this, my speedo is very inaccurate, as well as having navigation would be very cool. I look forward to seeing some pictures if you can get some!
  4. Hmm I think I might be taking a seat out of one of my parts cars, and building a seat and racing setup to play with!! but right now I don't even have pedals with my wheel, it has just the paddle pedals, so maybe it can wait.
  5. My 75 280z, The car actually has 2 black racing stripes but from this angle you can't really see them, the paint on this car is 7 years old, it is Dodge Viper Red, after it was painted I personally blacked out the trim pieces I can't agree with madkaw more I love the red with blacked out trim. The car does have a bit of an orange hue, definitely a lighter red.
  6. Ebay motors has a set that are pretty decent looking that you can get for 106 or 108 after shipping, they aren't the real ones but they look pretty good. 7. The MAP sensor was reading incorrectly it turns out I am stupid and didn't set the configurator for MS to the correct MAP sensor, so now that is fixed. I need to tune the aps, but I am happy to say my car is now 100% driveable.
  8. You know I hate when people don't come back and update posts so here I am. I got some time to look through my configuration files today. I had changed the values in the basic configuration, but not in the project configuration, and since I was using tuner studio I didn't know how. I learned and checked the settings. Guess what Matt Cramer you were 100% correct the settings in the project were for the 115Kpa sensor. So I changed the values and now my MAP (Manifold absolute Pressure) sensor is reading a correct value of 80kpa with the engine off! Now I can more accurately tune my car and make it more drivable. Thank you every one. Also on a side note if you have problems with your MAP sensor please place the text Manifold Absolute Pressure in your post that way people searching with similar problems can still look in this forum setup.
  9. The voltage is 2 Volts from ground to pin 1. I checked a while back to make sure the words written on the sensor were facing out and they were.
  10. Man I don't want to spend more money, but honestly I mainly don't want to throw money at a problem unless that is the actual solution i am spending money on. Also glensgarage has a much better price on the 2.5bar sensor. I ordered my MS stuff through him several years ago and he was really nice. That being said Matt over at DIY is awesome too. I know it will read lower but the megamanual as well as putting in atmospheric pressure here an converting it to KPA should be much closer to 80kpa which means it is reading at half of the value it is supposed to.
  11. So just as WigenOut-S30 found out, as well as I did, you can't search for map and Manifold Absolute Pressure doesn't seem to turn up a whole lot. The Car:1975 280z, l28et, MS1v3 MSNSe running 83 turbo dis, Stock Turbo, no IC, stock turbo injectors with resistors inline. The Problem: I live in Denver about 5000 ft above sea level, but my MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) Sensor is reading 42KPa with the engine off just at ATMO, where the Megamanual says it should be reading right around 80Kpa. This is the normal MAP sensor that came with MS the 250kpa version. I have taken the board out nothing seems to be distressing the sensor, everything looks very well soldered in I checked the voltages going into/out of the Sensor everything seemed normal. I have unplugged the tube to make sure some how it wasn't something in the tube. The sensor still reads and moves when I start the car, but never even hit 100 Kpa even when under 7lbs of boost which should be somewhere around 130kpa. At idle the car sits at around 18Kpa. The question is my MAP sensor bad, do I need to replace it, or just re tune my table to accommodate the lower values?
  12. I would but my 280zx parts cars are back in Kansas so that will have to wait until probably later in the year/ early next year so I can go and get them. @Jmortensen: I will definitely look into this, I am pretty happy with the car right now but in the future sounds like a really good way to improve handling, why have I never heard of these things before you posted?
  13. Holy Cow folks I don't visit my thread for like 3 days and you destroy it? I swear its gonna take me all day to clean up this mess . As sticky said I have 3 kids and this is the daily driver, I have a turbo charged 280z that if I feel the need for speed I can just in her as they are both reliable enough in their current state to drive daily. However the Z is not track worthy as the brakes need work before that (I mainly mean pads/shoes?). 280zx 2by2 I am on ratsun in fact I have posted in several discussions you have. The wagon is going to be a great car just to drive around in I am not setting it up for tracking in fact I am going to see if I can get 3 seat belts in the back for the kids to ride around with me because that would be AWESOME. The kids haven't even seen the wagon yet as they have been visiting grand parent since the first of the month. I am planning on in the future dropping her a little to make her more visually pleasing to me! @JMortensen- what do the sliders do I am going to do some research because I have no idea. I would appreciate it if every one would take their petty arguments outside my thread. Drifting isn't racing, but it is a sport, and does take skill. That being said I don't race/drift/drag I just love tinkering and driving!
  14. So a quick update, I was looking through my settings on MS and noticed that my injector opening times were only 1ms and remembering that thread in the MS section the 280zx injector takes 1.2ms to fully open I decided to change the value appropriately. HOLY COW the idle sounds so much better, it is running so much crisper, how did I miss that for so long? Just goes to show you how much I still have to learn. So next step is to go do some burn outs . Actually I need to reground my fan relay to a better ground, and I found out the wiring connection of my coolant sensor was not making good connection so I re-wired it, so hopefully that will fix that problem I was having. The coolant values were going crazy, and then not showing up.
  15. Love the Rising Sun on the hood. I am thinking maybe my 510 needs something like this done!
  16. Thanks for the compliment, Yeah I decided I still need to work the issues out of my car before I go upgrading stuff. I still have a lot of little issues that need to be worked out with my car. It is running incredibly rich, the high beams don't work, just little things, it also runs pretty well in stock form, so I am just going to leave it like that to enjoy for a while. I think maybe my injectors are clogged up and I want to clean them.
  17. Thank you. It is definitely very clean, just put back together all the interior yesterday. I am only missing 1 interior panel because it was to ratty to put on.
  18. Well went ahead and put off the inter cooler, I need to just run my car for a while and get the tuning right. I think with all of the running super rich while first tuning I might have fouled my wide band O2 sensor so I am going to recalibrate it, and see if that helps if not replace it, luckily I have 2 extra ones, is there a chance that my injectors are not spraying well and thats why I can't seem to adjust my idle to a good fuel mixture? These are thoughts I have I will go searching and find out hopefully in the next few days. I went ahead and sold my Subaru OBX that was my daily and picked up a 71 510 Wagon for a daily. I pick up the rest of the parts from the guy I bought it from on Saturday. The Wagon is clean, and beautiful the PO did pretty much everything I just have to put it back together, it has a KA24E/5spd out of a 97 Nissan pickup. Here are some pictures once I get it a little cleaner I will post more pictures of my Datsuns together. Sorry about the washed out color, the one that shows the color the best is in the garage with the Z its a darker red, very nice looking.
  19. Yeah It is going to be a very little money invested project, just mainly a drive around car. As Darrel mentioned the Z car club of Colorado had a track day out at High Plains Raceway Saturday Sept 11th. A man named Jason who has a GTR brought her out to track her. This isn't just a stock new GTR he has changed turbos, added a lot of coolers for all the oils, brakes, tires, full cage, and some other things, the car has somewhere around 700 HP it was RIDICULOUS. HPR is around a 2.5 mile track, on the longest straight he got up to around 145-160 with me in the car. The fastest lap I clocked him while I was doing corner work was 2:02 and I don't think that was his fastest, needless to say on my ride in the passengers seat I was grinning ear to ear. SO a big thanks to all the Z guys that came out they were super friendly, I also got to ride with Dan who has a silver 240z running MS2 with an L28et I loved the GTR, but I really loved riding in a car that is alot like mine just better! youtube of Jason running the texas mile!
  20. i know she needs a drop, but i ate up every last bit of my funds just to buy her so i am going to have to wait on the drop.
  21. So I can haul the kids around in her!!
  22. Took some pictures today, but they all are super washed out I need to adjust the camera setting and try again there are a couple good ones I will post.
  23. Yeah you should go through his whole car domain site it is ridiculous!
  24. Don't know whether I am bringing the wagon, no seat belts other than the Drivers, there is still stuff over at the guy I bought it from's house, it should be boxed up and ready for me to pick it up next week. I really want my wife to come, and one of the kids so we might just come out in the minivan for a while to meet people.
