  1. I have been really thinking about getting an external waste gate, and just be done with it. 38mm?

    Yepo

38mm should be more than enough. The internal one is roughly 25mm so you should more than double the flow. If you can try to mount it on the bottom of the t3 flange. If you can't mount it there then try between the no.5 and 6 cylinders, that is where i've seend most people mount them.

  2. yes it is creeping, I ported the hole, but might need to port it more? I just got a Greddy profec B boost controler. That might help also?

I also ran a greddy profec B boost controller and reported my wastegate hole three times and it still would creep. I even ported it too far I had a constant bypass that hurt boost threshold and it still creeped. I was also running 21psi yet it still creeped to 23psi, mostly in 4th gear. I think the only true way to fix this problem is to go external. Good luck.

  3. Hope you have a good b-day. And umm you can't shoot him anymore cause we wold know about it so try fire or an another type of accident:icon31: Then again if you did that then your z would never be finished (oh and its illegal). Hmm good luck with that...

  4. Phil, Looking good there. If my memory serves me correctly you are running the internal wastegate. I know everybody who has run it has had boost creep problems and was wondering how is yours doing?

I had a similar setup as you except I had a f54 turbo block and a metal headgasket and was able to run 22psi with over 20+ passes. My felpro headgasket failed at around 17-18psi so I would look into replacing that if you want to up the boost. Nice vid you think you will make it to SEZ i'm planning on going and I don't even have a Z yet.

  5. Ive been having issues the past few months with throttle enrichment issues..

I am running 021u right now.. and I was goin to upgrade to 029 because of the TPS/MAP dot tuning.. but I was talkign to Jeremy and he has has the same issue with mainly all MAP dot tuning..

basically when im cruising or at idle.. i will barely move the throttle.. and it has an immediate lean spike, then richens back up. Now if I add like full throttle quickly it doesnt do it.. but cruising and just opening it up a bit.. SPIKE SPIKE!

Anyone have any advice on the tip-in throttle when you first open it up?

or maybe a screen shot of the MS table?

You need to lower the tps threshold so the acceleration enrichment turns on during light throttle movement. When driving open up the tuning page and see if the acceleration enrichment light turns on. Good luck.

  6. one q...

how hard is it to adapt the holset to the stock manifold (I don't have a downpipe yet so it might be worthwhile to upgrade!)

I also don't have the FMIC piping set up properly yet (I cobbled some together from junked volvos and saabs)

I do have the megasquirt....I still have to tune it...here's a vid of mine starting up, tell me what YOU think :o)

I did a writeup on it not too long ago. Just search using me as an author. Unforantely most of the pics are broken.

  7. Hey phil I think your boost problem in first is due to the afm adjustment. With my holset I got full boost in first around 4k rpms. Also on my old car the ghetto beast I was running the stock t3 with the stock electronics. When I upgraded to the 370cc injectors and adjusted the flap my boost became very laggy in first and second. I believe it is due to the afm giving it too much fuel. So when you upgrade to megasquirt you will get faster boost response. Nice vid

  8. DemonZ I live in N. Houston, Tx. I have been a mechanic on and off for the last 5yrs but been working on cars for the last 10yrs. My last job was at DRC Import and Auto and they specialized in European cars. I have worked on just about every year boxster. The only problem I can see is my only days off, they are on tuesdays and sundays so it would have to be one of those days (next week I might be switching my day off to wednesday though so I can go look at apartments). I have a 5.1 megapixel digital camera I would use to take pics. PM me and i'll shoot you my number. Let me know what yr? trim? mileage? dealership? etc?

  9. This fixed my majorly ticking lifters. Just loosen the cam shaft bolts alittle and remove the rockers. Then get a deep 1" socket or maybed you can use a regularo 1" and take the hydraulic lifters out. Then remove the collar for it is just slid on. Take it all apart and put in a bucket of diesel fluid for a could of hours. Then put back together but remember not to over tighten them. They will bind. After you tighten them make sure you can still push them down. Should fix your problem good luck.

  10. Evidently Nick Cage has had a Ghost Rider tattoo for years, and cleared his schedule just so he could be Johnny Blaze(hopefully we'll get a better performance out of him on this one than we got in Gone in 60 Seconds...). I dug the GR comic, but I don't know how I feel about the new Orange County Choppers edition Hell Bike deluxe...I liked the super bike version from the 90s over the Evil Kinevel 60's version, and I fear that this new update is going to be a bit cheesy.

Yeah the still photos aren't promising but they have a blog page somewhere that has lots of info on it and it looks fairly good there. They said they wanted to keep the GR very close to home but update the bike alittle to match the GR. In the video shots it looks good so...:icon54:

  11. I know it would be harder to find but i think a 3.36 would benefit you more. It put you in a better part of your powerband at the end of the quarter mile and get better acceleration everywhere else. But finding one sub $300 is kindof hard. Just .02

  12. From what I understand, the HX spools slower than the HY. I thought the hy came on standard trans dodge trucks? I could be wrong? I forget.

Nope your not wrong. The hy's come stock on the newer automatic dodge cummings 5.9l trucks and on some of the older cummings. The hx would spool about 300rpms later and the hy will flow more than enough for must of us.

Phil, running 20-21psi on my completely stock engine besides metal headgasket my trap speed was 123mph. If you put it into the calc at 2550lbs w/ me in it thats 360wrhp. This was with a hydraulic p90a head also.
