  1. OK....Sparky,Mike,...I've got Chris's contact info.....looks like maybe tues. or weds. nite might work out to meet up somewhere in houston. Hope it comes together ! Sparky...didn't you and I initially meet at the San Antonio Z nationals ? Your name was Steve if recall ?Hope I'm not wrong ,sorry if my mistake ! Mike ..you need to e-mail me your contact info too. Or call Chris and get my cell # from him and we'll chat about the rest . I'll try and remember to bring one of the prototype hood emblems to show you,and see what you think ? ..................later,Vince
  2. Don't worry Chris, it takes as LONG as it takes ! And yours is looking great too ! I spent 2 HARD years of fabrication and restoration on the green 73' before I fired her up for a Maiden Voyage to the Tulsa Z car Nationals, and my best friend and I were pulling over constantly to" tune this and tweak that". But it was all worth the OOOh's and Awe's. I'll definatly be on the way to Houston this Sunday !(22nd)(not in a Z though) So you guys all put your heads together and lets "Eat and be Marry"lol. For those who know the area best,I'll be in Katy at a hotel something and the test site will be at 19999 Katy Freeway ! My evenings will be somewhat open,so I'll check my E-mail before I leave Saturday afternoon for your phone numbers so we can get a time and place thats good for everyone ..sound good ? Cool..looking forward to seeing all ! Hey Mike thanks for posting the engine picture for me ! The Roadster project has been passed up by my RB26DETT AWD Widebody 70"240-Z ! But enough of me hijacking the thread ! GEEZ ! .................Vince
  3. ON3GO, Well Hell, can't get anything by you ! lol. OK Mike, since you and Chris are friends,I'll get the chance to meet both of you in person ! I'll be in Houston the 22nd-25th. My evenings should be open,so tell Chris about me and we'll all talk Turbo ! Oh yeah, since I can't quite figure out how to post a picture,Mike would you put my engine bay up for Chris to see?? Beautiful car Chris ! .............Vince
  4. Looks great ! Are those Watanabe's in the background ?Interesting "BLUE" also. I'm going to be in Houston on the 23rd of this month setting up a test site for work, and would love to view your car while I'm up some evening. I'll probably have to come up periodically to baby-sit the site as well.So just let me know if your up for company. I've enjoyed the company of many "Hybrid Z" members while traveling in California and elsewhere.Might be able to help or advise,I've done several Turbo variations on S30's over the years.I'll try to post an engine pix. Thats always a good sign to get a compliment from T.Oxindale ! Love to see your car while I'm up ! ...........Later .....Vince
  5. I always give an "A" for effort when someone actually completes a theme. I dig the Ferrari style lower panel in the rear. Word up on the R34 tailights however...I've got a set of R33 and R34's.....and the R34 's are HUGE in reality. If you set them side by side ,they are almost as wide as the whole back of a stock Z ! So unless you plan on a seriously modified rear-end (I stayed out of prison for that reason)lol., you might stay with the smaller R32,R33 lenses. ..............Keep scetching........Vince
  6. Hey, J Taylor....is that the same auction that was a "KIT" ? Wastegate, flanges, turbo, etc ?If it is ,you and I were hard after it ! Congrats! I'm glad a Hybrid Z'er wound up with it. Are you going to even use the older wastegate ? ................Vinny
  7. Are the T-shirts going to be Screened or Embroidered ? I would be happy to take whatever you do a bulk run in,but Embroidered looks and lasts so much better. I mean,we want to" Represent " well ! thanks again...........Vince Cox
  8. Tim ... Official order for me: One of each product...(of course !) How will everyone PRE-PAY ? Just let us know ! thanks...............Vince Cox
  9. .............OH DANNY BOY,THOSE PIPES ARE CALL....oh OK ,I'll stop. Well done,....once again DAN ! Another motivator for the rest of us to "TRY HARDER" BTW.........thanks once again for the RIO VISTA annual event ,you guys are a blast ! It was a long 2500 mile drive back to Springfield Missouri but worth it ! ....................Vince Cox
  10. ........Exellent ! TIM o,and James..I apprecciate the responses guys. This is the ONLY site I see folks apologize sincerly at,man does that make a difference considering the WRITTEN word can be easily misinterpeted. James..have you had a chance to test a flow difference on your new intake ?Looks GREAT !, similiar to the lines on the GREDDY RB intake. I was just curious if all the extra work of the Venturis in a forced air system will give BIGGER flow ?And "YES" ,please e-mail me with more info on the "GT" turbo's...also are they 999.00 ea ? or matched pairs ? Surely thats each. Tim....Please e-mail me with more contact info and we'll get together in a couple of weeks re; Z's etc. How many RB guys are on Hybrid Z these days ? Any body know? thanks everybody.........Vince
  11. Congrats' on the #'s Clint. Are you still running a stock Intake and TB's ?Also where is the best place to source gaskets for the RB 26DETT's ?And are there any Multi-clutch systems I should stay away from ? thanks to reply...............Vince
  12. OK,TIM & JAMES, I am in the process of building my AWD RB26DETT into my widened chasis (early S30).What will be the best GT bb turbo in your opinions for this .The car will be used for track and street events and will use my Wolf 3-D ECU.I will consider dual or single turbo applications,BTW ...PM me with prices so we can avoid those ugly retorts back and forth ! Tim ,I'll be in Sacramento on the 18th of this month ,and if you guys are NICE,I'd love to see your projects while there! (I also have a couple of Turbo'd S30's.) So give me your thoughts....................Vince
  13. I've got one here in my office that has no hardware or v-stem I'll weigh,........using just a bathroom scale it reads 12.5 lbs ! Now thats a few pounds less than the Datsun wheel site said,so at least you have an idea........and to any one interested I have a polished set I'll sell for 350.00$ with caps! hope that helps..........Vince
  14. Very good ! Those plastic guards might be able to be fashioned like the Corvettes since your utilizing the glass front clip. They might protect the fenders from getting "Stone Stars" from rocks letting loose from the tires at speed. ...........Vince
  15. From the looks of your pix,I'd say that YES,your fenderwell gaurd was GONE. Viewing your pic.,I'm guessing your car is a 77-78'? So Your obviously needing to source those from a doner car at the JY. BTW,when your prepping the backside of the fender(off the car) sand blast and really clean the Seam of the folded over door skin, prime it and undercoat it with several thin coats. It should not rust again even with condensaqtion, unless you miss a spot !
  16. The fender well spash pan (at least on the S30 ) is a metal inner fender well guard that seperates the tire splash from entering the hinges to your door. The same guard may be plastic on the 260/280 Z.The later cars had a removable liner whereas the early metal ones were spot welded. I'm sure there are more words to describe the part ,but I just call them "splash guards". Hope that draws the picture ..............Vince
  17. I'm a little late to post but, The SMOOTH look is different,I assume your not planning on using your FAN any longer ? Since the cowl vents are simply your fresh air intake to the cabin. If the DRAINAGE ROT is a concern,I addressed that problem years ago by routing a longer rubber hose of the same diameter and ran it through a "hole sawed" hole in the fender well splash pan ! It of course runs all the draied water and dead leaves to the ground , works great ! Disregard if this isn't what your after ! .....Vince
  18. You just gotta love alteration fabrication, the only thing more fun is the response you get when your done and people go "OOOH and AHHH' and WOW" how'd ya' do that ? Can't wait to see the final piece James ,keep on keepin' on ! keep posting pix ........Vince
  19. Mike..Mike ,Mike !! I know how BROKE you are, ,what an opportunity to make this teacher LEARN something that's obviously overdue ! MAKE HIM PUT HIS MONEY WHERE HIS ASS,oh....MOUTH IS ! I'd say 200.00 $ that you'll put at least 400 hp to the flywheel ,and a bonus of 100.00 $ if you get that to the rear wheels ! If he CHOKES and says he doesn't make bets with STUDENTS because it's unprofessional I'd say "NEITHER IS YOUR ATTITUDE " and plan on doing that class OVER !lol. We've been dealing with that opinion for 30 years ! GEEZ, and they're still out there . BRING IT !!! Vince ( BTW,look at what he drives...not only is he CLOSED MINDED,but he has NO taste !)
  20. A CAR GIRL. ..hmmm...where do I buy one ? Such GOOD breeding is hard to find ! Great story !thanks .......Vince
  21. Hey thanks for the comments guy's,I appreciate it ! As to the questions thus far, The color is the original green simply measured by The Chroma-Vision optics, then I added a touch more yellow to Knock out the dull 70's hue. I'm not much on green cars but this is AWESOME in the sun ! The radiator support is nothing more than 1/8 " aluminum that I Dimpled on a press block. The grille is not chrome (did chrome about 9 yrs ago,Lotsa' prep !) It is the GREY from the same color as the tailight panel, with several coats of Eurothane Clear ! And that less than MANLY hair comes from my loving niece who said "TRUST ME UNCLE VINNY,IT'LL LOOK GREAT !) Well trust is certainly earned ,isn't it ? As Ive mentioned in other threads,I lost my Fiance' in a wreck this past summer and I'm just now becoming Social again, thanks for the support guy's ,it meant a ton to me ! Later........Vince
  22. Nice drivin' Jon,and skinny tires as well ! That was a great course to watch you run. I can't wait till spring, now see what you've done! ...................Vince
  23. Yeah I did come out to Rio,,GREAT bunch of folks there, when is the date ?
  24. How funny , ON3GO. I get on here expecting to see something new and it's my car ! I forgot you had that pic. ( HEARTLAND PARK TOPEKA KS.) I've got much different wheels on both of those cars now though. I almost don't see the GREEN car with all that GRASS in the foreground . later...............Vince
  25. Oh how I LOVE these turbo pix ! You guys are great. And can you believe what a clean job that Austin has done ? KUDO's to you Austin ! I can't wait to see MORE ! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>Vince
