  6. If you mean the Air Induction pipe that is attached to the exhaust manifold the answer is yes. Loosen the nut securing the pipe to the exhaust manifold and at the same time remove the screws securing the bracket and rubber hose clamp. The Air Induction pipe can then be taken out. If this isn't what you're talking about I need more details. LARRY

  12. There was a buzzer mounted on the supports for the steering column on 240Z's with a build date after 10/70. It alerted you when your key was still in when the door was opened. A red and a yellow wire went to the buzzer and black went to the door switch and a ign. lock switch. these wires would be found in the area you mentioned. Almost all of these buzzers were disabled decades ago. LARRY

  17. The 3 piece 4-speed F4W71A was used on 70-71 240Z's with a build date of 10-69 to 8-71. Nissan redesigned the trans to a 2 piece F4W71B wth a build date of 9-71 and up. This moved the shifter 2.25 ins. toward the front of the car which required a new center console design with the ash tray now behind the shifter. Whoever told you there was Nissan and Mazda both building the 240Z at the same time or anytime was smoking crack..... LARRY
  18. I take it you have read his message on his web site that he is not producing any parts at this time and even though he stated to e-mail him/ deposit requirement, I would be leary of doing buisness with him. He also mentions the whole buisness is up for sale... http://zfiberglass.com/ LARRY
  19. If you mean that you are running your engine without a thermostat in your coolant system, this is a very bad idea. By not allowing your engine to reach normal operating temp. quickly you could see engine damage due to condensation in the crankcase, acidity, and sludge. Fuel usage is also affected. Your oil can also contain fuel dilution. Although you live in FLA. you would have little or no heat from your heater. Once again a bad idea to run a car without a thermostat even if it is a Chevy... 22. Now that you've decided on the 240Z it's time to go to this forum...http://forums.hybridz.org/forumdisplay.php?f=61. Read the stickies first and then a good start would be to search for Bad Dog frame rails and read the threads. Good Luck... LARRY

  24. I'm not sure this is the info you want so just ignore it if it's not. With my set-up ( a heat generating blower/355 SBC) I have the Taurus 2-speed fan also with a 180 thermostat. Low speed comes on at 185 degs. and high speed at 210 degs. Even in 60-70 deg. weather my temps rise to 190 degs. therfore kicking on the low speed fan. 200 degs. at a stop light is normal for me but still with only the low speed fan on. For me to go over 210 degs. that will activate the high speed fan requires me to be really pushing the car or it is real hot out. My car runs at low speed on alot but that's the nature of a blower motor. I've had this set-up 4 years now and the motor is still kicking butt. LARRY
