Although this doesn't answer your question there was a short lived company in SoCal that produced and fitted T-Tops for the 240Z as a Dealer aftermarket option. Take a look at this link and fig. 20 shows your org. wiring. The blue wire is the one you use starting at the coil for the tach. It's the Auxiliary cooling fan on 280ZX's. When you shut the car off it will come on and run for about 15 min. if your engine coolant temp. is over 221 F. It wiil shut off if you turn the ignition switch on or start the car before that. It blows air over the injectors and fuel lines to cool the fuel temps. This is to aid in starting a car in hot weather or hot engine temps. I would not remove it. LARRY

One of my friends has a 70 240Z and I'll see what I can find out but at this time I don't know. Maybe someone else will chime in... LARRY

Design change... The early boot fit like a rubber grommet into a hole in the trans tunnel. The later one had a metal ring that fit over the boot and was secured by screws. LARRY
