  1. If you want to spray on rust encapsulator you may want to try the Eastwood product. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=852&itemType=CATEGORY&iMainCat=688&iSubCat=852 I've used both products and this one sprays on easier and does not require a top coat.
  2. Emailed Flaming River-don't have it. Talked to a couple bearing supply places-they may or may not have bearings that will work. They said to bring the bearings in and try to match them. I gave up and bought another steering column from a 280. Oh well.
  3. I'd rather not go there if I can find the answer here. I've got my steering column out and disassembled and would like to replace the upper and lower bearings in the column. The replacement process is well covered in "How to Restore your Z Car" but, where in the hell do you find replacement bearings?!! I did a search and checked around; no luck.
  4. $22.21 in my Motorsport catalog but I'm not sure if it's the latest edition.
  5. Even if a rotisserie is strong enough to hold a fully assembled Z car, I don't think the unibody would hold up too well being supported at the extreme ends with this kind of weight. I would strongly advise against it...unless you want to make a pretzel.
  6. I need to bring this thread up again because it's rear brake upgrade time for me and wanted to confirm rotor choice. I am interested in doing the Modern Motorsports rear disc conv. using the 1989-94 240sx calipers. The rotor sold with this kit is listed as a Brembo 4 lug/11.4". Is this an aftermarket replacement rotor for the 1984-85 300zx rotor? What I want to know is- if I want to outsource this part of the setup, could I just buy replacement rotors for the 84-85 300zx?

  8. I have been wondering the same thing. From the looks of the two front ends I doubt that they will match but it would sure be nice to have some stainless trim up front on my Velo Rossa. I was told that John Washington has (had) some trim for the headlight covers but they were around $600 for the pair. I'll shoot him an email and find out.
  9. If you can't afford the book don't even think about the swap!
  10. OK y-not, for those of us not fortunate enough to attend Knott's...how about some pics!
  11. Wecome! It's great to have another GTO guy to kick ideas around with. Best of luck.
  12. Wow! Is your family into cars or what!!? Nice Goats. I still didn't see enough of your car. How about some pics of the underside/brakes/rearend when you get a chance.
  13. Me likey my Z It have Chevy 350 You want to see? Me likey, likey, likey... How's that?
  14. Looks great! How about some more pics; especially of your cv/rear disc setup. And stay in touch with this website! It's guys like you who have complete, finished cars that are extremely helpful to those of us who are still up to our elbows in the process.
  15. It would be very difficult to get those front end pieces attached to your existing shell and have everything line-up correctly. Save yourself time, money and heartache. Go south my friend and look for a good rust free car/shell in the S.W. United States.
  16. Dayz, When I first viewed the photos of your shell I thought the black area on the upper frame rail was a shadow not complete rust through! I would definitely look for another shell-that one is disintegrating.
  17. I found this: 1987 All models get vented rear rotors, rounded nose New hood, new taillights also Turbos get standard 3.7 LSD(starting with 4/87 production) The specs did not mention the aluminum cover though.
  18. titanium, did you get the complete setup w/axles like the one on ebay for $325?
  19. You called it wigenOut. $611.73...Wow.
  20. I can't tell you how many times I've watched that and still LMAO. I hope my wife dosen't miss her mixing bowl!
  21. Hanns- When the guys you race go home at night, do they curl themselves up in a ball and cry themselves to sleep? ...Just wondering.
