I'm ditching the RB conversion and going with a turbo B series instead

Skylines are definately not light weight cars. Does anyone know how hard the Skyline driver was even trying? Oh well... I'd take the Skyline over the Honda ANY day. -
IIRC the 'pacification' of the IRA was not purely non-violent. The SAS are darn good Spec Ops forces! The average Irishman was not altogether different from the average Englishman. There were some cultural differences, of course, and a long history, for sure, but they share many commonalities. The largest of which are a common tongue and similar religions (Catholic and Protestant). Largely, though, I think they could more easily relate to each other (if not agree). It is difficult for many Americans, and Europeans, to relate to those that live in the middle east. Our cultures seem diametrically opposed, there is a language barrier, and economic/social conditions are vastly different. Perhaps a closer parallel (using the UK and the IRA) would be between the Kurds and the Muslims (Sunni, Shi'ite and... uh, the other one. Sorry ). I'm not trying to cause a stir or discredit your opinion, but although there are similarities I just find the parallel fitting a bit too 'loose'.

I am a visionary... the car must be seen by all! LOL! Seriously... if I continue along these lines my reputation (which currently does not exist) will be tarnished forever!

NO! When I'm finished with the car you will change your mind. I've since installed an Option 2 bumper sticker to the muffler (at an angle of course!) and dive plates to the cat.

Man, where did you find that picture of my ride?

True, true. Even BEFORE 9/11. We were getting intel briefs back in 1996 (and probably before) screaming about Al Qaeda and Bin Laden. He was as familiar to us as any Mig 25 or SA-7. They actually caught Al Qaeda operatives who had infiltrated PSAB (Prince Sultan Air Base) disquised as TCN's (Third Country Nationals). In their pockets were detailed layouts of our flightline and barracks. Anywho... Where was the IRC when they were lopping peoples heads off on camera? Torture/mutilation/excecutions are a regular occurance in some middle eastern countries... why are they now attacking the way we deal with illegal combatants? They (illegal combatants) are not protected in the LOAC, let alone by the Geneva convention. Now, as it stands in Iraq, they kill far more of thier own people than they do ours. I highly doubth this would change if we left.

I might have to have my RB25 short block rebuilt and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for engine builders in Southern California (I'm in Ontario). I could build it myself, but I have very little experience building engines and do not have access to anyone who does... so having a reputable shop do it is preferred.

EJ20 + Stromung exhaust = yummy

Er... my 88 TII had over 100k miles on it's stock, original and never re-built motor. It was very well maintained and affectionately cared for by the PO and myself. ANY engine, wheter it has rotors or pistons, will fail under prolonged abuse.

I saw that, too. Crazy how much bondo they use on alot of those high dollar cars. Most cars require a certain amount, for sure, but man... I want to hear more about this 'honey' stuff!

I have read in some of those Hot Rodding threads that it's hard to find in CA... because of environmental reasons.

This is similar to what I'm going for... but not quite so flat. I would like a bit more sheen. The article on this car states that it was painted black and then several coats of satin clearcoat were applied. I was hoping to find a sprayable, non-aerosol, enamel that I could buy by the pint, or gallon. I've spent so much time on bodywork that I want a real, high quality, finish. I have found satin clearcoat in the Sherman Williams(?) Ultra 7000 series, which is the paint we typically use. I might have to go this route. I'll look up Blitz and see what I come up with. I appreciate everyones replies.

I did a bit 'o searching and didn't quite find what I was looking for... so here goes: Do they make single stage satin finishes? I've been thinking of painting my Z in satin black (not primer...paint! ) but I'd like to do it without needing a clear coat. My reasoning: I may want to put a non-satin stripe on the car. Having to base black, clear coat satin, mask stripe, and clear coat (non-satin) seems like a labor intensive job (not that painting isn't, but you know what I mean). I'm still doing some research, but perhaps someone here at HybridZ has some experience with satin finishes. History: My grandfather built hot rods back in the late fifties and early sixties (he has a chop top 30 Model A now) and he used to love painting his cars in black primer. The other day we were kicking around some ideas about colors and he mentioned that the Z would look awesome in flat black (or satin black). I love the ol' guy and think it would be a fitting tribute to him since he's helped me so much with my project.... besides... Satin Black when done right looks downright awesome! Anyone seen that Chrysler ME 412? [drools] [diatribe complete]

There are probably not too many US guys who have done this swap, but I'm sure some of our NZ'ers and Aussie's might. Since I'm gearing up for my RB25DET swap I've been scouring the net for RB information and I've come across one site in particular that might be some help. Although Skyline oriented, there are quite a few people there who have swapped all manner of RB's into various vehicles. There's even some of our own HybridZ guys who are members there ! Not to stereotype, but I had a friend (when I was in the service) who was from WI and he was telling me that some of the Hmong, or Mung (not sure if they are the same), people were big recluses and quite odd... he said they seemed disconnected from society. I don't want to lump them all into this profile, but that guy must be whacked...

Crazy! 5 Killed, 3 Hurt in Wis. Hunting Dispute By JOSHUA FREED, Associated Press Writer BIRCHWOOD, Wis. - A deer hunter killed five people and wounded three more in a dispute over a hunting platform on private property during the opening weekend of deer season, authorities said. A 36-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon when he came out of the woods, sheriff's officials said. Deputy Jake Hodgkinson identified the suspect as Chai Vang but would give no details. Vang is from St. Paul, Minn., said Paul Schnell, a spokesman for the St. Paul police department. The shooting started when two hunters returning to their rural cabin on private land saw the suspect in one of their hunting platforms in a tree, Sawyer County Chief Deputy Tim Zeigle said. Hunters often build platforms in trees in order to be able to view prey and shoot from a high angle. Both of those hunters were wounded and one of them radioed friends at the cabin a quarter-mile away. Other members of their group responded and they also were shot, he said. "It's absolutely nuts. Why? Over sitting in a tree stand?" asked Zeigle. Zeigle said the suspect was "chasing after them and killing them," with a SKS 7.62 mm semiautomatic rifle, a common hunting weapon. Wisconsin's statewide deer gun hunting season started Saturday and lasts for nine days. About 20 shots were fired but it was unclear if any of the hunters had fired at the suspect or who might have shot first, Zeigle said. There was just one gun among the eight people killed or wounded, he said. The dead included a a teenage boy and a woman, and a father and son, Zeigle said. Some of the victims were shot more than once. All five were from the Rice Lake area, about 15 miles southwest of Birchwood in the northwestern part of the state, he said. Authorities found two bodies near each other and the others were scattered over 100 yards. The suspect, who did not have a compass, got lost in the woods and two other hunters who didn't know about the shootings helped him find his way out, Zeigle said. The man was arrested when he emerged from the woods and a Department of Natural Resources officer recognized the deer license on his back from a description given by one of the shooting victims, Zeigle said. The man was out of ammunition, he said. One of the injured hunters was in critical condition at St. Joseph's Hospital. Another was listed in serious condition and the third was in fair condition, both at Lakeview Medical Center. Hunter Bill Wagner, 72, of Oshkosh, was about two miles away near Deer Lake with a party of about 20 other hunters when they heard sirens, planes and helicopters and discovered roads in the area had been barricaded. "When you're hunting you don't expect somebody to try to shoot you and murder you," Wagner said. "You have no idea who is coming up to you." "We're all old, dyed-in-wool hunters," he said. "We wouldn't go home because of this, but we will keep it in our minds. We're not forgetting it."

Zhadman replied to Mikelly's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
My 18x8 Gram Light 57-Pro's were around $442 ea (custom ordered from Japan). $450 seems pretty close to the going rate...I guess . -
Right on, guys. I felt stupid several hours later when I saw the link on the main page.
