  1. I use threded rod and bolts before to line up and draw in. Makes it soo easy....
  2. Yes you do have to clean the mounting surface for the permatex/silacone to adhere.
  3. Are you useing a two peice timeing chain? If so it might be the timeing chain cover I went through that one.
  4. '67 327 numbers Block 3903352 I216 TO930HO Heads 5890462 I236 Intake 3805393 '69 327 numbers Block 3932388 I238 19D009558 V0928FB Heads 3827185 I283 Brad-ManQ45 I wish I could afford to hold onto these blocks But I have 8 cars in the barn and if i don't keep things turning over on a regular basis it compiles fast. Any money that can go into the Z is "toy money" no paycheck. If I play my cards right I think I can build a Forged 383 for $500 "toy" dollars.
  5. If I were shoping in that price range I would go with an STI and use the extra $$$ in mods, but that's me.
  6. In my quest of finding a good block for my 383 build I stumbled across two 327’s that I picked up for $150. One is a 67 small journal with closed chambered double hump heads and the second is a 69 large journal. Both engines have the larger valves just a hair under 2†(1.98 I think) neither one have been bored over, and 20 over would clean both up easy. The 67 is complete intake, distributor, exhaust manifold, flex plate, and even the alternator brackets. My questions are what is the value of the 67 engine, and is the 69 a good candidate for a 383 build? I would really enjoy telling the lie of the engine in the Z being a 327 especially with the cam that Grumpy recommended. I have an owner of a local machine shop that has a love affair with the small journal 327’s and likes to sell them for number matching projects, he is interested in the 67 and is willing to bye out right or trade for it but he wants me to name my price. I just don’t want to throw away any resources that could go into my 383. I’ll get the casting numbers up latter, but I have run them once.
  7. What's sad is that the top black stripe accualy looks like it belongs there.
  8. I parted out a '87 celica/supra on ebay last year. I stripped the body of everything including glass (I cut the roof out for fun) and had to pull it out of the barn to turn it around for pulling the engine. I could not resist takeing it for a small spin down the road. Talk about getting weird looks, I even had the licens plate bolted to where the tail lights went. It's one of those times you almost want to get pulled over just to see the confusion and fustration on the cops face. BTW that was the only way to make that car quick, cut 1000 lbs off it. lol
  9. You know it was a scam... that car gets the painties off not the bra
  10. I bet they flintch every time a f-16 passes over.
  11. Sweet deal low milage and a manual to boot! Good find.
  12. The boggers are fun they make great rooster tails, I need flares. I don't want to spend the $$$ on ZG's I've got something in the works though.
  13. I sold my Jeep to become a home owner and it took me a year to get this on the trail, it only took $600 and a snake to get it to where it is now. '89 Jeep Cherokee XJ 33" Boggers 4-6" lift tow points 4.0 auto 175k BTW: I lifted it another 2" sence these pics...
  14. You could still get scratches from the wing flexing and vibrating under higher speeds. Not just from opening/closing the hatch. A thin felt on the underside of the wing over the rear quarters would prevent scratching.
  15. Yea I would love to see the LS7 in a S30.
  16. I like this one for the H-beam rods/forged pistons and it's a turn key http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy-383-stroker-aluminum-heads-forged-NOS-race-ready_W0QQitemZ8071831882QQcategoryZ33615QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. For the $$$ I'd go for a used Cherokee Classic with the I6. But I'm a Jeep nut.
  18. Beutiful work... There are cars on this site that never cease to amaze me. Another one of a kind HybridZ
  19. I ran the Kumho 712's last summer and hate them, for my dd Corolla they would be good. But if your looking for grip look for something else. On a side note, I'll be running the Yokohama AVS ES100 this summer and hope for better results. Kumho = hard rubber.
