  1. I am always amazed how many people keep asking questions about seats and what is the prefered seat to use!!!? IMO, seats are a personal item, like shoes, at the least. Regarding size....we all have different sized butts...enough on that one! What seat fits in my Z? Gawd, I don't know...but if you have a tape measure and the information a manufacture typically posts about their seats, you should likely be able to figure it out (like most of us have had to do). Maybe I'm all fired up form reading about one of our members be jailed for firearms infractions, but come on.....through out my life I've had to rely on only my own insticts, experiences, mistakes, and what ever comes by in the learning curve of life. Seems like alot of people how days want everything for free. Are we getting so lazy that we can even help ourselves? Sorry all, for the rant....guess I'm just venting!

P.S. New seats prices generally start around $200.00 each and go up from there

  2. Assuming your talking about manual trannies, I believe the 79 tranny was the odd ball tranny that was only used for that year. After that nissan went to the B type tranny (close ratio). Will they handle 350rwhp? Well, that all depends on how it is used or abused......however, I've read about many people who have done so successfully. For further and probably more accurite details...try using the search function!

  3. I have to agree with Tim! $10K is pretty optimistic...unless there is ZERO rust, a near perfect paint job (inside and out), all mechanical systems are in great working order as well as the Z being an overall eye pleasing car. Also, you mentioned the car cost you $6K and you have since put another $2K into it. Trying to make a $2K profit on your car is admiralible, but not realistic. If you can get $7K for your car, you would be doing well IMO! I think I'd be tickled pink if I could get $10K for my Z...and I have nearly twice that invested (with receipts). The general sales history on old Z cars do not lend themselfs to making a profit, even when alot of $ and TLC have been expended. Generally, it is the buyer who makes out. I do not mean to be rude, but if you think you are going to get out of it what you've put into it.....your dreaming. Unless of course, as Tim put it....if you find the right sucker!

  4. So today I left my car at my friends house and from there we headed to our bassists house to jam' date=' and when we finished that we got back to my friends house, and i had left my keys at my bassist's house (cus i took my jacket off and left it there with the keyes in it)... my bassist's house is 30miles away from my friends house, so we were not driving back to get em. So i hotwired the car!

It was surprisingly easy. All I did was disconnect the ignition lock cylinder harness and jump two wires, and then I went under the hood and jumped the starter with a screw driver to crank it. Incredibly easy. Oh yeah, and I removed the lock cylinder so I could turn the wheel....

now you can all laugh at my stupidity! haha

Your not stupid.......however, must be some pretty good herb your doing before your session!!! Come on now, am I right?

  5. FEnatic......you took the words right out of my mouth. IMO, these pre-oiler systems are intended for highly modified, tight toleranced race engines. I believe its all about reliability...sparring the rotating parts from those first few seconds of no to low oil pressure. I believe these systems are definitely a plus but you have to ask yourself....do I really need one of these systems, probably not.....or, do I really want one of these systems, probably yes! For sure it will not hurt.

  6. Ballistic, You are likely not getting a responce......because:

With just the slightest amount of effort, you can do a search in the archives here or on the open net. We don't mean to be rude by not responding, but we see many questions asked by newer members that only require a little thought and effort to research out an answer. It's actually worth the effort to learn to use this function, as you will discover many, many things about the Z car and a variety of possible modifications that can and have been done.

  7. One suggestion you may want to consider....if you can find a shop/store, that actually has seats on display and allow you to put your butt in them to see for sure that they are actually still comfortable after sitting in them for over 15 minutes! Don't we try on a pair of shoes before we buy and wear them?

  8. Dave, if I remember correctly the turbo cars came with a slightly larger clutch surface area as opposed to the NA cars. However, it seems very logical that you could use either of the fly wheels you have along with a high quality clutch assy. I personally prefer a lightened flywheel for a quicker spin-up in RPM.

  9. I have to agree with these guys...don't go there! You know that old saying....."If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is!!!" Shoot, during my research into LSD carriers, the least expensive unit I could find that was a real performance part was around $500.00 (US). Be aware there are various setups avilable for a LSD. Some more suited for track use while others are more suited for off-road use. Do some research before you purchase. Once you find the one to suit your needs and get it installed....your going to love it. Of course you will have to get used to the new noises that eminate from it. As my new LSD got more use, it became quieter.

  10. John, I think the Euro's just miss Hitler, deep down inside. Let's face it, he was a strong leader...just a bit F'd up in the mind however! As we all know, history repeats inself.....I guess at some point we'll just have to kick their butts once again......because, as the Euro's think, we ARE the big bad evil wolf of the world. Not much has changed over time in history, and somebody always presides on top of the world heap! I'm just glad to be part of that somebody on top of the world heap. Like I always say....run a patch or two down those barrles every once and a while and keep a good supply of ammo at hand!!! God will sort it all out at some point in time. Do you think HE enjoys watch the world go around in the same manner as people do watching the likes of the latest string of bickering and whining TV shows we now have to view?

  11. Wow, this is some interesting reading for sure! Here's a scary thought to ponder....Imagine if you will, Hillary Clinton as President of the USA and Bill Clinton as the secretary of operations for the U.N. !!!! This would be America's worst nightmare! If you think this is a joke, think again, this effort is in the pot and cooking! Let's all remember we are AMERICANS and remember to never let such a catastrophy happen.

  12. Cameron, I have to agree with the other guys posting.....get it redone by a shop that has better judgment making capabilities. It sounds like the shop you mentioned knows how to insure they will have return business (as in a failed bottom end).....at least for the uninformed.

  13. On flat terrain, a person in pretty good condition might average 15mph. To put it in perspective....the pros can average over 30 mph without 100% effort. You definitely got to watch out for stuff in the road way...so you won't get a flat. It's not for the meek at heart.....it's actual sweating type work but the rewards are worth it. I prefer riding in the dirt, however I do both.
