Exactly... And if it had been a repulblican, we'd have still incurred the cost of $50 Million to investigate who'se DNA was left on what dress, and what Bimbo tape recorded what messages... None of us can say that this would have played out differently had it happened to the other party... And for the record John, I was a Clinton Supporter right up until that very issue with Bill marching them out on parade to support him... Only to be lead to believe he was beeing set up... Only to be proven that he just lied to everyone... I could have put up with him getting it in the White House, solong as he was honest and upfront about it when it happened... but to lie about it so much, giving one on one interviews and demanding that "I DID NOT have sex with that woman!" We'll maybe she isn't... Maybe she is a "MAN BAYBAY (Austin Powers overdub there).... Who knows... the whole process sux... And I'm still looking for my candidate... But being left with the lesser of two evils, and still hoping for that nuclear war/ bombardment of the middle east... Yea, Bush kills people... I can hang my vote on that ticket I suppose... Mike
  2. GoldeH2, There are a number of guys on this board who are VERY knowledgable on this subject and several of them DRIVE Honda Swaps they have built... There is even an Administrator/ Moderator here from a Honda swap site (Alex aka Auxilery)... The problem is (And I've preached the peace before as well.. Check my thread on "Us vs. Them") goes back to attitude, ignorance (mainly because there are more posers than REAL import tuners) and jealousy of the aftermarket and attention the Current import crowd get. Chaparral, You have clearly wandered into "We are all saints" territory when it comes to one's character... Sorry, But I have a HUGE problem with someone who would have multiple affairs on his wife, lie about it to the people who put him in office, then own up to it ONLY when it was obvious that the evidence was insurmountable... We're talking about character and integrity here... These are things I want MY PRESIDENT (And let me remind you that I VOTED FOR THE SCUMBAG, TOO!) to have... If that doesn't bother you, then that is your opinion... But to me, if he is lying to his wife and covering those kinds of issues up, what will he lie to ME or YOU about... In something so trivial as running the most powerful nation in the world The $50 Mill spent to bear out the facts of his discretions? GEE, had he NOT conducted himself in SUCH a manor while PRESIDENT of the United States, then the country wouldn't have had the burden of that expense... But, as with many things liberal, let's pass the results of his actions and the resultant blame onto the republicans... That makes PERFECT sense.... To a Liberal! As for accusing anyone here of lying about having an affair on their spouse, or covering it up if they did... I'm certain that that comment would offend others, because it pisses me off reading it... Ummm I can say with 100% Certainty that I will N-E-V-E-R in my lifetime have ANY type of intimate relations with ANY woman outside of the marriage to MY WIFE. I've seen the effects another mans indiscretions left behind after years of lies and infidelity. My step-children are CONSTANTLY left confused by his examples, and I won't even get into the emotional scars my wife was left with... I'm 110% certain that I will be able to keep my hormones in check... You're free to live your life the way you choose and pay the consequences. But to assume others would do so and accept it as "OK" is unimaginable and offensive. As for your claims that Bush Lied about WMD and the other issues, I'm not gonna waste my time on this subject again... You believe what you want... Bush isn't that smart... LIBERALS seem to think that he is, which is Comical! As to the outting of that CIA "Spy"... Again, Media twists stories into the wind... That SPY's husband was a democrat who'se nose was out of joint... It was all partisan politics... No one was found GUILTY of anything, and the individual in question was actually accused of not protecting her own cover to well... It was apparently well documented that she contributed to her own compromise of cover, but I wouldn't know anything about that, just what I read in the media... because they are so damned accurate in reporting facts without misrepresenting the truth with their own politics or hidden agendas! But go ahead and read the herald, the times, and the daily, oh and don't forget the BBBBBEEEEEPPP Post (From GGL's radios Show) to get your dose of liberal media LIES... Bahahahahahahaa.... Sheeople wandering to the heard... Mike (The not so conservative independant) Kelly
  4. Not to mention the fact that a 4130 tube isn't much heavier when compared to the aluminum, and with your bar John, using the aluminum heim joints saved additional weight to get it back down to a reasonable amount of weight. Mike 8)

But hey, terrorist attacks only occur on the Republican's watch, right? John, you are a GOD when it comes to sifting this data... Nice work! Mike 8)
  6. Strotter, It depends on what type of emissions testing they do. If they just do a tailpipe sniffer, then yes, you could pass it because of the ECU swap that occurs as well. As long as you run the same ECU (or a standalone unit) and have a catalytic converter, then all should be good...If they do a visual check, then you might have issues... find out what your state requirements are. 240ZD-et, I can honestly say that I got a lot more positive feedback from my V8 Z at hot rod events and car cruises than I did at ANY import gettogethers. You might have an issue where you live, but I was called and invited, even asked to bring the car and attend (Mostly Muscle Car) events in my area, and None of the V8 hotrodders I met had anything but positive comments to say about the V8 in the Z... I never got that kinda respect or admiration when the cars I've built were 6 cylinder powered... And three of them were full on track day cars with cages and other track specific items in them, with nice paint and body work. However, your milieage may vary! Mike 8)
  7. My comments are geared towards accuracy in doing the motor "Swap" into these Hondas... Build what you want... At the end of the day we each must be happy with our creations... Point was NOT to paint these Honda Hybrids as simply trivial bolt-ins... as with ANY Hybrid project, education and information accuracy should be job 1! Mike 8)
  8. Uh, Hold on there... The B series motor is NOT a direct swap into SOME civics... It is all year/ generation specific. The swap (I did a B18 into a 95 Civic) is straightforward as long as you have all the parts AND I could do them fairly easily, but again, to build it properly for handling abuse and putting piles of miles on it dependably, you will sink more money into it than it is worth... Case in Point: The B18 we built had stock rods that had been race prepped and loaded with ARP bolts, with the block STUDDED and head studded both with ARP bolts... 3000 miles into the motors new life with (I think) Ross (But defenitely) forged pistons and some light port work on the head with a nice SS header and 2.5 inch exhaust... The rod bolt let go due to motyor starvation... With all the above bits, billet fuel rail and cam gears from AEM, and a Spec 2 racing clutch kit, we were well into the $5000 range when all was said and done... with a broken rod... These motors are NOT durable, and if you do the swap into a 92 or newer civic, you're talking serious weight penalties... So, beware... And putting a B motor into a 88-91 Civic or CRX is another story all together... Axles have to be mix matched, and special mounts have to be bought from HASport or someone else, and you're still gonna deal with reliability issues if you squeeze nitros or a turbo onto it... Not to mention breaking axles... Do as you wish, but be educated in the process... For far less money, my bet is you could build something much more reliable, as fast or faster, and with less headache! Try telling my 17 year old and 19 year old that though! Mike 8)

"Where would we be right now with such a pushover in office?" Funny, All you have to do is rewind the tapes to 1992-2000 while old Bill Clinton was getting his knob polished in the oval office, and buckling under the weight of world pressure to tow the UN Party line! A: I'm all for getting a BJ, But come on... You're the most powerful man on planet earth, Spring for a HOT chick, not a FAT chick... B: Kill 'em all and let god sort them out... No, I'm sorry, but Mr. Kerry looks like a taller, thinner, duller version of the 8 years we had with Clinton! Much like the 70s and Disco, I'd like NOT to repeat that, thank you very much! Mike "Who is no longer sitting on the fence" Kelly 8)
  10. YOu can buy the frame rail/ floor pan repair kit and have it welded in, or have them replaced with fabricated materials. I'd not let that go for long. If the car is running, and the trans doesnt' cost you too much, sounds like you got a decent deal.. Those K&N filters are fine... Buy the cleaner/ oiler kit and make sure they are cleaned well... The pitting on the exhaust is pretty common with most of the headers sold... They are cheap, so i'd buy one and have it jet hot coated. Welcome to the addiction! Mike 8)
  11. ABSOLUTELY... Democrat or Republican... They both voted to put these soldiers in harms way... So support your boys and girls abroad! I just hit them with a donation. You should too! Mike 8)
  12. We're heading to Tybee Island Georgia for a four day weekend to celebrate my wife's 41st Birthday... We went to Hilton Head Island for our Honeymoon back in September 2001 (One week after the attacks, our trip to Cancun was cancelled.), and we spent more time in Savanna than Hilton Head! So we're off to stay on Tybee Island, and with an added bonus of searching for a retirement/ rental/ vacation/ investment property purchase. She doesn't know it yet, but I'm ready to drop some coin on a house for her... Hope it all works out... I'll be reachable by cellphone for those who need me and have the number, and I'm probably gonna take the laptop, but won't likely use it much! Mike 8)
  13. You really should buy the JTR manual to do this install. It is the absolute best $50 you will spend and it will walk you through what you need to move the motor back, and what needs to be done at the trans tunnel in preperation for the proper motor position. I would never dream of attempting this without it in hand... It is the HybridZ car bible, in my opinion. Mike 8)
  14. Use the search function... And I moved this to the WHEEL catagory... Welcome! Mike
  15. Well I could always DRIVE to pick one up... How much for either the carbon or the Glass? Might have to spring for one! Mike
  16. Jim Pearl AKA BLKMGK just attended a special class on EFI standalone systems and programing. The first day was the introduction course, and the second and third days were dedicated to more indepth tuning. Jim is on here very little these days, But I'd encourage any of you to look him up, since he is VERY smart when it comes to tuning EFI and he is the only guy I know who is running a TRUE 550WHP Supra in Washington DC Rush hour traffic DAILY... Commuting 60+miles round trip! Jim told me that during the class they used his car on the dyno, chucked out the A/F ratios and focused on ignition timing and spark advance. The number one focus on their three days of learning was to debunk the myth of A/F. According to Jim, once he got over this fact and moved on to focusing on Spark and ignition curves (keeping a keen eye on the fuel maps to insure that the car never ran dangerously lean), he claims they picked up a full 40+ HP at the wheels throughout the center (Mid Torque) of the rev range. I encourage you guys to contact Jim offline... Lately his Zcar has been sitting and his laptop has been burning keys while he tunes customer cars and tweeks his Single turbo Supra into the 9s... He's currently running 10.5s, but has a 4inch downpipe, bigger turbo, and a few other mods going into the car, along with a new head. Mike 8)
  17. No amount of dropping the crossmember is gonna help you. You need to heed the advice given you from others and look at the mount location. It sounds like the mounts you welded up are flipped forward, instead of backwards. Also, Keep in mind that with the proper mounts properly installed, you should have about half an inch between the distributor cap and the firewall and your harmonic balancer should be sitting directly over top of the steering rack. This means that you need a smaller harmonic balancer to start with. Good luck! Mike
  18. I have installed one in my shop and used 6inch long, 7/8th inch anchor bolts installed with a hammer drill. I also had 6 inches of 2500PSI Fibermesh poured on the slab when the garage was built. Recently I had the unit inspected and serviced by a Hydraulic equipment service. The gentleman told me that how mine was secured was THE ONLY recommended and approved manor that OSHA considers safe. He also advised that depending on use, that I should re-torque the bolts in the concreat once per month to about 100# ft. He also commented on some of the stuff he sees, especially when he is called in to inspect equipment AFTER death or injury... Said that ALL of the lift tumble issues were the result of... EPOXY. He also said he has seen more than one lift fall through the floor from NOT having the proper type and thickness of concrete. The guy was a WEALTH of info. Bolt it down! Mike
  19. JIm's car was shipped out to the fabricator's yesterday afternoon. I had a rollback come get it. They should have the car for several weeks doing the cage, rails/ pans, Fuel cell, and motor overhaul... We need to research some heads and cam packages for his 355 SBC... I'm all ears for recommendations. Ross properly educated me on the proper way to section struts for these particular Koni inserts. I was under a false assumption that these were VW or MR2 struts and NOT race cartridges proerly valved for the Z. After venting some of my frustrations on Ross, I had to eat a bit of crow about the whole process of sectioning... Glad he called, because I might well have set this thing up wrong on the struts... More to come in the weeks ahead. For now, I'm gonna throw some more siding on my garaqe to try and finish it off, and I'm gonna wstart working on a custom top hat design I've been researching for a while... I've got parts inhouse now to properly set everything up. If all goes well, i'll have something to take pics of to show you guys in the next week or two! Mike
  20. So who do you guys (And Gals) think won the SECOND debate among the two candidates? Mike
  21. Dammit, He has one more bay than I do! Same upstairs setup, and very sweet! When the guy came over to give me the estimate on the Pro Street SCarab's cage/floorpan/framerail/ motor estimates, he was VERY impressed with our little "hobby" shop! I won't be without a lift Again EVER! 8) Mike
  22. If you buy the 300ZX hubs, there is no need to drill... That makes a LOT more sense to me, and cuts down on confusion because the Datsun Z wheel bearings are the right bearings from the factory... And this allows you to keep the 5X4.5 bolt pattern of the Nissan/ Ford... Mike 8)
  23. You want to use a Z31 from 1985 (Turbo only) and 1986-1989 (ALL) for your front hubs. Use the 240/280Z bearings with the 300ZX seals and you are good to go up front. I picked up a set from Zbarn last week for $70 for the pair of hubs complete! In back, You would have to weld on more material to the stub axles to make the rear chevy pattern work. The reason everyone goes with the ford/ Nissan five lig pattern is because you can make it work with the rear stub axles fairly easily. Hope this helps... Jamie, I'm surprised you haven't let the cat out of the bag about your NEW ALUMINUM HUBS River City Racing is releasing this month! Mike
  24. John, I've got a sample at home, I'll have to measure it up... They have copies of the certificates at the shop from the supplier. Mike
  25. All this is excellent advice... I'd add that if you are serious about riding... Don't be a passenger, and don't take a passenger along on any rides until you have 10,000 miles under your belt... Some travel that in a year, and others take 10 years to get that amount of mileage... Drive like you are invisible, since you are to most drivers of cars... Always be ready to react. Never leave home without the following: Motorcycle QUALITY Leathers (Pants and jacket) with hard armor, or CE armor if that is all you can afford, Motorcycle quality boots, HELD gloves, or good armored gloves, and an EXCELLENT SNELL 2000 helmet. If you can't afford the list of items I listed, then you can't afford the bike... don't think jeans and timberland boots will save you in a crash at 60 mph... Ride at YOUR speed, and NEVER ride with people you don't know, or who'se skills are in question... Nothing like having some PUNK do a standup wheelie right next to you on the highway... and developing a speed wobble... Trust NO ONE with your bike... I liken riding my bike to riding my wife... Left for me and me alone... attempting to take my place will accelerate your exit from this world! Above and beyond all, IF you go down, figure it out in your mind... Find out what you did wrong. Learn from it, and move on... Accidents DON'T "Happen". It doesnt' just "Get away" from you... If it is YOUR fault, then it is no longer and accident... it is an incident... Suck it up, check the ego and admit you made a mistake and caused the crash... The world of sportbikes is full of osterages with their heads in the sand... None of them want to know what happened or why... Just pass along a prayor for the fallen rider and move on... Idiots... Be safe, and be smart... Mike 8)
