Guys, not to be the rain on your paraide, but we have something to the tune of 26-27 catagories already... It just isn't likely to happen... It's all we can do to maintain the amount of traffic and bandwidth we have now, not including the issue of keeping up with all the posts... Mike Kelly

Dude, No one said a wing on ANY car wouldn't work... Just not on 99% of cars out there... None of the stereo typical Racers out there are gonna hit the speeds of the car you use as an example... Lets keep it real here... Mike

No. Here's why... The Zcar was originally designed after many of the low slung, rear drive, GT cars of the late 50's and into the 60's. None of the "RICE" we associate that stereotype with these days has anything remotely close to the Z... No rear drive, IRS, Long hood, wide curved windshield... I could go on and on... Quite frankly, it is like comparing a 1974 VW bug to a 1974 Lincoln Town Car, and then classefying both as luxury sedans... Mike Kelly

Guys,My dad came home from the hospital yesterday. His condition is much improved, but he is gonna be on some powerfull meds for the next week, then back to the hospital next Thursday for an Upper GI test. We've come a long way from Friday night... I thought when I typed this original thread Friday night that I would be making funeral arrangements by the end of the weekend. It has certainly made me appreciate his existance that much more. I'm not big on religion, but I found myself having conversations with the maker/ creator, and it was a very moving 5 days... Life is short, and we have such little time to spend with all those we charrish in this life. I'd like to take the time to tell each of you that I'm glad you found this board, and that you get something usefull from it. Tell those who matter most to you just how much they mean to you. I know that my father telling me that he loved me, it meant more than words could convey. Take the time, you will be glad you did, as will those you matter to! Thank you all for the well wishes. Mike

Going through what I am currently going through with my dad, this is certainly a sad note. We always hear the phrase, hug your children and tell them you love them... Just don't forget your parents... They are the reason you are here in the first place. Mike

...And I again, this evening we just got back from the hospital and he is doing great. They may let him go home within the next two days, and then go back for the upper GI on Thursday. He was sitting up in bed and talking with the room full of guests... Kids, grand kids... Hospital rooms are small. We had 9 people plus my dad pacled into one room. He was eating up the attention. He also was telling me everything I had done wrong on the garage and how NOW he wants to go back and fix it... He's getting back to normal. I think I'm gonna hire him when he retires, and just let him be my personal handyman/ construction consultant! God, I love my old man... Mike

Just got back from the hospital and my father, although still weak, is doing much better. Temps were down to 99 degrees from 103, and he is starting to cough up most of the crap in his lungs. They are going to do a colonoscopy on him in a few days, as well as a lower GI. They need to find out why he is bleeding in his stools. So he'll be in there for atleast 3-5 more days. His color has returned and he looks SOOO much better. Nurse told me today that last night he was critical, but today they feel that he is making MUCH progress and is on his way back onto his feet.

My wife LOVES her Mustang... However, the car we picked up for Ron Jones last year is still her favorit... I've been told that if I get her a clean all original FI Zcar, I can have the Mustang. Did I mention I love my wife? Mike

...My dad, who is 64 years old, was admitted into the hospital today with pneumonia and a very low hemoglobin count, as well as blood in his stool. When I got to the hospital this afternoon he looked so pale that I was taken aback... I've never seen him so week and frail and it rocked me to the core of my being. I realized tonight just how much this man means to me, and the significance of my life because of his. My father taught me about cars at a young age. He taught me the fine art of dumpster diving through the junkyards for a part, how to change out a clutch in an F100 Ford three speed, and to do brake shoes in 10 minutes. He also taught me how much more important it was to say something meaningfull, or say nothing at all. He is a quiet man. But when he speaks, it is like finding a fine gem. You know that what he is saying is worth hearing. It took me going away to a war zone back in 1996 to actually tell my father what his life had meant to me at that time. I actually took the time to tell him how much he means to me, and how much I truly appreciated everthing he did for me when I was growing up. Tonight, we talked a bit about his retirement that we are planning for, how much money he has lost in the stock market through his 401K, and just how much he will get when all is said and done, based on the current trend. I had to choke back tears to tell him not to worry about that. Here he was fighting to breath and whisper to me, and all he was worried about was making sure my mom had enough money to do her weekly shopping. No amount of telling him "Dad, I'll cover it, don't worry about it" would matter to him. He wants things his way, and he wants to stand on his own feet. Pride is a strange thing. I can't remember the last time I heard my dad tell me he loved me, but he did tonight, and it really hit me hard. I'm not ready to go it alone yet, and I told him so. He squeezed my hand and whispered "you already are".. It broke my heart... I'll be back there again tomorrow, and the next day, and until we bring him home... Been a rough day guys... Mike

Richard, Do you have pics of that...I'd REALLY like to see the splitter/ belly pan combo! Mike

...And based on that I'm gonna step in here for a second... A: There is NO PROOF that ANY of this info is accurate. We're talking bench racing here guys, PERIOD. Lets keep our perspective here. Don't get me wrong, there are VERY relative points here, but no actual HARD data has been presented to prove or disprove either theory. Bottom line is that THERE ARE TOO MANY VARIABLES! Bench racing... Ain't it fun? Mike

Tim, ABSOLUTELY... Just tell me what I owe ya for two! Mike

Removing an Aftermarket Alarm...
Mikelly replied to Mikelly's topic in Trouble Shooting / General Engine
...Thanks guys... I know where the "Brain" is located, and it does have a valet switch, but the switch is hit and miss in operation. The unit is pretty much a no-name unit, and isn't much more than a noise maker in my book... I went to put my wifes Cell phone back into the car this morning, with it in Valet, which means the alarm is OFF and the damned thing still went off... At 5AM... With the keys NOT with me... The thing has GOT to go. Mike -
HELP!!! Witch headers for angle plug heads
Mikelly replied to a topic in Gen I & II Chevy V8 Tech Board
Flowtech makes a VERY Good VERY reasonably priced 1 5/8th hugger header for about $179-coated. They fit with my Straight plug dart heads, but I think they offered an angled plug option... Mike -
That was VERY funny... Mike
