  1. hey is that z in the states. from the cars in the background dopsnt look like japan... maybe austailia? man i had to bite my tongue over there they are in a discussion about how the 2 JZ stock internals can handle 200-250 more horsepower then the stock rb internals. So i guess teh 2jz can handle 800+ hp on stock interenals? If it can thats one hell of a engine.
  2. mine cost alittle more because i had to ship to alaska but i ordered from summitracing they were 150-160ish each i think
  3. youd be surprised how much they like the weld wheels over there ;> Its kinda funny. we like there stuff and they like our stuff. there stuff is expensive for us our stuff is expensive for them
  4. Ok the wheels are on and fit great. check out the pics on my udates page. they are 15x10 with 5.5 inch Backspacing... i also have coilovers which allowed this spacing.
  5. about 8-12 bolts....If they are the same tranny. do you have a place to get all this stuff yet, cause if you dont get ready for some big headaches. unless you know somebody in japan that knows what you need its going to be really hard to get all the stuff you need. Most of these importers in the states sell the entire tranny not just the bellhousing. for a lot less money you should consider a v-8 swap or even the GN v-6 like scotties. I would look at as many options as you can before buying an rb26 for your z32.
  6. Ok sump is another name for oil pan... what im talking about is the deep part of the oil pan where the oil gets picked up and fed into the engine..... the gtr sump is in the front of the engine. My car originally had a rear sump meaning the oil was picked up from the rear of the engine. if your car has a fwd type sump oil pan then your ok because its the same as the gtr oil pan... ok the gtr is 4 WD and the diff if mounted on the bottem of the oil pan. the front wheel axles actully go thru the oil pan via tubes kinda like a tunnel. if you can use the gtr pan then you have to cut off the diff housing and have the tube holes welded up. its relatively easy. this is a gtr oil pan see the tube thru the middle thats where the axle goes thru....these pics will go away after about a week so if you want them save as to your computer they are from japan yahoo and when the auction ends they go away
  7. nope im in the air force 16 years and im homne now !!!!
  8. Datto the wheels are 15X10 with 4.5 inch backspacing. with coilovers you can go 5 inch backspacing.... i bought 10 inchers with 5.5 BS and gonna use a 1/4 inch spacer and should fit perfect but we will see still wating on the tires ;< hopefully they make it here. post office has a heads up on the address thing
  9. hmmm im running stock (old) ujoints and axles from a 280z.... have be doing 5000-6000 rpm launches and havent broke one yet...knock on wood and running loow 11 sec 1/4 mile... on the 27th of this month will be the test. bigger injectors bfg DRs @ 18 PSI launching at 6000 RPM Im either going to get a 10 sec slip or destroy a u joint in the attempt
  10. what you have in your pic is a visc.... the hand drawn pic is and open or non lsd diff the clutch type is the one in the link labled clutch.... you cannot really see any gears inside the clutch one like you can a visc diff sorry id take it back
  11. the strongest tranny you can run is the r33 GTS-T tranny. the r34 tranny is probably as strong but alot more expensive.... the sump on the rb26 is in the front and so is the diff (mounted to oil pan). if the VG oil sump is in the front all you have to do is cut off the diff housing and weld up the axle tubes and thats it... if its in the rear you will nee to fab a pan .... as for 4wd Z32 i think the engine would have to be way far forward to line up the axles to where the z32 front wheels need to be.... if you want to try that i would highly recommend getting a half cut GTR... that would have pretty much everything you need to go awd ... if that would work
  12. rotary has a eccentric shaft (crank) and to rotors that move... you all know that though ... if the eccentric shaft broke at hi RPM it probably did send a rotor out the side. if you do it in extreme slow motion you can see some stuff coming out of the engine compartment
  13. Ok now you are getting into new territory for me... they have done the swap in japan but not sure how... look under your car if the deep part of you oil pan is in the rear you will need to modify a rb25 oil pan to the 2.6 so it will fit. the VG tranny has a differnt bellhousing then the rb but if i know nissan all you have to do is swap the bellhousing from an rb motor and it should fit... this is just speculation it may bolt up. I ve said it a hundred times ill say it again. youll have a faster more powerful car if you reserch and install a v-8 in your car. Im positive it will fit and pretty sure there are people that make a kit for it (not sure) Being your in the states. and just the motor alone will cost you more then my entire install start to finish id think of something else. unless of course your rich and dont mind spending alot of money to have something like that.... My opinion if you wnat a really fast car get a 240-280 and push a big motor in it!!! check out this thread call them and see what they can do for ya. the swap starts a 10000 for a 240sx should be around the same for a 300z
  14. wow 10000 down just to start on a rb26 swap into a 240sx!!!!!!. Im in the wrong business
  15. ok kinda makes sense... but if the supra hooked of the line with you... wouldnt it make sense that his MPH would be higher, because he was going faster at an ealier part of the track therefore has more track to excellerate??? and next question... if mph is a calc over a distance will it be close to what your speedo reads across the line???
  16. holy cow thats cool i have never seen a rotary come apart like that. ive blown a few myself, that thing looked like it threw a rotor, usually they just pop and dont run anymore.
  17. ok there it is again...... quicker 60ft times = slower trap speed???? i had a long conversation on this with a buddy before. I was thinking to get a faster 60 foot times youd have to be going faster at that point in the track then the slower time (higher MPH). now if this is right youd be going faster thru the traps too right? SCOTTIE!!! please set me straight on this and why. And by the way... is the trap speed actual speed like a radar guy or is it a calculation or something like that???/ thanks.
  18. hopefully soon to be 10s!!!!
  19. Tv, DVD, radio, that stuff weighs alot. but then again everybody is into different stuff.
  20. r-33 gtst 5 speed not R tranny is the best tranny for a Z with rb26,,, unless your talking r-34 dont think the gtr came with a 6 speed ....it will with stand 600+hp no problem. if you use the engine mounts i used and the tranny the front half of the drive shaft from the r33 gtst will bolt right in!!!! all you have to fab is tranny mounts
