  1. Ok, the P-90A is a hydro lifter head and the P-90 is ajustabe(non-hydro)! Now, does the P-90 head have the same oil passages(that feed the hydro lifers) cast into them as does the the P-90A? I know the whole size is different where the "lifters" go! Thats not what this ? is about! Hope this makes sence!!! I have a P-90A that i was going to have threaded selves made to be able to install ajustable rocker pivits, but have a concern about the oil supply wholes that feeds the hydro lifters! Any info would be helpful! If the P-90 does not have the oil feed wholes I would like to go with it instead the P-90A!
  2. So Bob, Why the switch to steel rear drums? Wounldn`t a steel drum hold more heat than an aluminum drum? (in racing / hard driving enviroment) Also, what would be your take on companies such as Porterfield (for 1) offering "heat treated crossed drilled vented rotors" ? They (Porterfield) also state about "cross drilling" - that it helps to vent gases, aids in rapid heat dissipation, helps prevent rotor warpage and improves braking in wet conditions! I am in full agreement adout quality pads/shoes suited to the particular need and the fact that fresh brake fiuld is a must!!!
  3. Hey niceguy678us, Saw this, maybe ck it out! http://zdriver.com/classifieds/parts/viewitem.php?cat=&relIdx=7&item=20401
  4. Hey Mike, I`m looking foreward to spring, another VF bash and to break out of the garage! To have a work space of that size would be great, just to have a shed to get all of the UN-Z stuff out of my garage would be great! Money always seems to go in other directions!!!
  5. DAW, I`m glad you jumped in here because I had foregot/didn`t remember to make the point about the cly wall knoch! It sucks getting old!
  6. Sure would be nice to see some pics of a mid-mount Z car!!! Please post some!
  7. N-42 It would already have the big valves! In my opinion, it is a very good head for bolt on performance!!!
  8. Both MotorSport Auto and Jim Cook Racing are commercial souces! As well as others. They both sell a solid frt mount and they both sell the "solid" bushings 4 the mustache bar mounting! Hope i`m on your same wave link!
  9. Eddy, If you don`t already have a head, I would look 4 a N-42! You would not have to deal with valve seat issues as you would with an E-series head + as Dan said the N-42 already has the "big valves" and is a great stock, bolt on head that gives very good performance! They have the more common square exhaust ports + they can be found easily! The N-47 is similar to the N-42(same size vavles) but has round exhaust ports. I did run an N-47 with a square port header 4 a while, I used 1 square & 1 round manifold gasket(back 2 back) and did not have any problems an the car ran well! It was only because I have nothing else at that time! Just my opinion!
  10. Does anyone have any pics of any early model Z`s that have relocated the headlites into the grill area? Any part references as to parts used for the modification?
  11. Looking for imput/opinions on using something like this as an ebrake for a rear disc conversion that does not have ebrake capability ! Would it be to much pressure in brake system for extended periods of time? I only use ebrake when putting car on/off trailer and of course on inclines! So basicly, not very offen! web page
  12. Jim Cook Racing has a very nice aluminum solid diff mount! I`ve been using mine for 6+ years and have not had any problems with it!!! JCR web site
  13. ZCarNut does have a very good point I did not address about the safety! I do have installed a discriminator valve to prevent fuel leaking and a inertia valve to shut off fuel pump if the car overturns! Very much recommended !!! My Bad !!!
  14. I have done alot of removing of unnessary wiring / relays! I`m using the original wiring from the removed relay back to the pump and found an avalible wire with power(with the key in the ON position)and connected the two! *This still runs thru the fuse block* Use could just as easy run a wire from fuse panel to a switch to power the pump! Just make sure that the pump has the correct fuse amp rating! Look at the fuse block cover for the pump relay and use the same amp fuse *UNLESS THE PUMP YOU ARE USING CALLS FOR A DIFFERENT SIZE FUSE* All the wires that run to the back of car can be found running down pass side under carpet below pass door!
  15. It`s on the underside of the intake manifold, about in the center(from frt 2 back)!
  16. Hey John, I`ll just throw so things at you (more than just this weekend)! Buy a NISSAN repair manual for your year! Drain old fuel from tank, change fuel filter, ck all fuel hoses (there are some in back under car by the tank) and once running have the injectors cleaned! Ck drive belts /coolant hoses / water pump! Change thremostat and coolant! Ck ALL suspension parts, ftr & back! Make sure you know the car is safe! Pull the wheels, ck frt and rear brakes / ck brake hoses, replace if you see any cracks! Change the brake fliud & bleed brake system! Change ALL fliuds (trany / diff/ engine oil)! I`m sure I missed items to do, others will probly add to, or give you other items that need to be done as well! Anyway, enjoy it! Z`s are great and FUN cars to drive!!! Pics
  17. 80280 Well, can`t allways be rite! Is this a Cali, smog car? I`ve had a few years working on Datsun/Nissan, you don`t live very far from me if you wanted to come over I`d be happy to look at it! E-mail me if you want to do this!
  18. 80280 From the air intake side - There should be the air filter box, flexable hose, air flow meter, flexable hose into the throtle body. Remove the stock air filter box and install the cold air intake to the Frt of air flow meter! You should end up with - cold air intake, air flow meter, flexable hose, throtle body!
