    76 manifold

Did you get ALL of the bolts between the intake and exhaust manifolds? Some of them are kind hard to see and get to! If all bolts are out, take a RUBBER hammer and give the intake manifold a good tap! Sometimes the manifold gaskets are hard to break loose!!! Also, are all the exhaust flange bolts removed? Thats my best guess, but I probably missed something!
  2. What is powercoating? How does it differ from regular paint? Is powdercoating stronger(less likely to chip)than reg paint? Are there applications where powdercoating is not recommended(other than headers, high temp stuff, etc)(not talking about ext. body parts)?
  3. MYRON Mine is a 10/73 and is tiled as a 260! I think the production year started at 8 of each year!(I think)
  4. Hey Jamie, If you can fab a manifold I think it`s doable! I`m sure some kind of mechanism could be made to use maybe 1 cable to comtrol all 3 chokes??? I think(I may be wrong)that some of the old Jags had a triple SU type set up! Maybe find some pics and see how they did the choke thing! I have a brand new N42, but it`s not going to be cheap!!!
  5. I think it looks good! I like the frt, but the line going thru to the back of the car looks/well maybe smooth it out some! Great Job! Keep the pics coming!!!
  6. Rewards don`t always come when you want them, they come when you least expect them!
  7. Hey auxilary, If you gave because it was your "gut insinct" you did the right thing! There are penty of folks out there that do take advantage of things, but some really do need it! How you tell which ones do and which ones don`t, I don`t know!!! If you felt good doing it, Thats what matters! Happy Holidays to ya!!!
  8. Pete, Do you have a web address, I did a search (google) and did not find them! Are they a Z site or just something general?
  9. Has anyone tryed or used anything other than the factory frt windsheid gasket? What I`m after is something that would be flat(like late model autos)in stead of having the lips for the trim! My old moldings are hard and I cut and sanded them down flat and they look great, but I need to replace my frt and the new moldings are to soft to do these mods again! Any Info???
  10. Has anyone purchased and or installed Victoria British steel rear flares for the earyZ`s? I`m looking for insite on the quality and styling of these flares! Any info / pics would be great!
  11. Hey, Don`t ck Change the thermostat! Ck inside radiator for biuldup/blockage!(ck for anything blocking air flow thru radiator) If you see anything inside the radiator other than clean open rows, flush cooling system and then after the flush run clean water thru to clean the flush agent out! NOTE: A cly head retorque would not be a bad idea!
  12. Take the spark plugs out, spray small amount of some LITE penitating oil into the cly`s! Follow the previous recommendations, this will let the engine spin quicker and with no cly pressure biuldup! Oil pressure should biuld up quickly! It would not hurt to pour a little oil over cam and valve train! Ck that the oil level is at full on dip stick!
  13. IMO - YES TO ALL!!! If the fork has been replaced less than 30k, inspect it and see what it looks like! Don`t foreget to change the pilot shaft bushing also! Lube the new one after you install it with some wheel bearing grease! Take a look at the frt trans seal and engine rear main seal while everything is out!
  14. Very Nice Work!!! My compliments to you on the exhaust/manifold making, some really nice looking parts! Looking foreward to seeing the twin setup when your done with that!
  15. Sorry it didn`t work Never Mind!!!
  16. Have you contacted the maker and let your issues be known! I would at least give it a shot and see what they can do for you! It sucks, that`s $500.00!!! It looked to be a nice style with the added spoiler! Can`t offer any fiber glass wisdom, but good luck!
  17. Kinda scary where the jet fuel was located!!!
  18. David, My R200 came out of a 79 and it is a 3.70! I didn`t think 3.36 even came in a R200??? (don`t know 4 sure) Try to get someone with a 79 Nissan service manual to look at specs! I also got the 5 speed out of same car and it has an odd gear ratio, different from other 5 speeds! Ck the specs in the Nissan manual 4 79 and like early 80`s, it shows the differences!
  19. Ok, thanks I did not know that! So, maybe they are from the same casting and some are drilled for hydro lifters and some are drilled for ajustable pivits??? Again, my concern is with the pressurized oil feed under the installed selves and ajustable pivits! Any other wisdom out there!
  20. I`d like to see a frt that is a bit shorter and rounded, like the 350Z!(I`m talking just about the area in frt of the frt tires) Something that starts the flaring and continues thru the frt fenders!
  21. Eric, I like what you are showing! The stock Z body does not have much going on as far as the side of the car goes! I really like curving of the body that you show and IMO with the rear fatned up like your concept shows, a nice rear wing would be in order! Great mind to invision something like that and to be able to draw it out as well! Would love to see some frt / rear and side views of this idea! Keep it going, I personally would like to see a kit something like this!
  22. The 1 I purchased from them (early gen) is 3/4 inch! It is quite easy to make your own! I thought the brackets that that came with mine sucked so I made my own brackets that uses all 3 shock cap mounting bolts and used the bar that came from them!
