  1. Well if you get a Warhawk LS block it has mounts for both LS and old School small block. (Costs like 3K!) Seriously, you can do it but the mounts will be a real pain in the butt, and headers will be a challenge too. I'd say do the LT1 as it's mighty powerfull on it's own. Then do another LS1 project.
  2. The jumping speedo is what it's suppose to do. Mine does it upon startup and shutdown. Also it wont work until you program it with a known 2 mile run. Look for the instructions on the Autometer website. You might also need a 10k pullup resistor to make it work right.
  3. That was exactly what I thought when I saw it. It was a Henderson setup. There was also a bunch of farm tools that folks had made from Harley's, and railroad and mining equipment too! Not to mention an airplane.
  4. Yea he did, he rode a chopped 32 throught the front lobby while smoking a big ol' fat cigar! It was cool. Did you notice the place where he's been doing burnouts inside? There is an area about 20' long and 6' wide of multiple burnouts close to the back.
  5. Yea, mine hit when I lowered the car to the ground and had to chop them. I used the bracket's and clips from the old brakes to hold the new SS lines in place. I owe alien-e a picture so when I get it look in his thread if your intrested.
  6. Thought I had pics, but can't locate them. Striking out today. I'll try to get under the car and measure them this weekend. Sorry about the delay.
  7. Well I couldn't find the adapters numbers, but the brake lines are all BLJ prefix. The 20" long 3/16" jap lines that fit Datsuns are BLJ-320.
  8. I went to Maggie Valley N.C. this week and visited the Wheels through Time museum. I snapped what crappy pictures I could and put them on my website. Here's the link: http://www.circuitflex.com/WTT/index.html
  9. I did the swap about 5 weeks ago. I'm out of town right now, but when I get back I can give you the lowdown with some pics. I have put about 400 miles on the brakes and they work great, even the E-Brake!
  10. Mine did that too, I just bent them out and the grinding went away.
  11. I dont see the need for such accuracy. Seems the me that after you get it roughed out you would mill in the fret slots and bridge location. Anyway a rosewood inlay would be a nice touch. Ever been here? > http://www.mimf.com/
  12. I really hate a leaky alternator. What 327 had an alternator mounted in that manner?
  13. Sound's like an awesome idea. I do vacuum lamination on fiberglass circuit boards and my bag supplier (Airtech) may have the supplies and details necessary for you to perform this feat. PM me with your email address and I'll put you in touch. I assume that you would build a small amout of reverse taper into the neck and maybe incorporate a small hollow tube toward the rear to run an adjustable steel rod into for fine tunning the neck taper.
  14. Yea, that was a great find. Very usefull information.
  15. Well Mythbusters did an episode on that with a big brown dodge. They tried to make the front u-joint fail then catch in a pot hole to flip the car. It didn't work, all it did was knock a hole in the trunk! Myth busted!
  16. I was going to remove my sunroof but after I tightened it up I find I kinda like it.
  17. Try posting your question in the "Drivetrain" forum.
  18. My wings did too so I peeled back the fabric exposing the metal put it in a vice and bent the wing in until it cleared the door. Sawing it off was an option at that time also. The way the padding is you might never notice it.
  19. I work 10-12 hrs during the week, then work on the Z on weekends. That's about it for me. I dont watch TV either. I do play trivia on friday nights though.

    u-joints

I have that one also, but I wish I would have gotten the 20 ton. The 12 is a little on the weak side and tends to twist a bit under high pressure.
  22. She is about 3" in diamater. They can live around 12 years.
  23. That's funny, I didn't show it to my neighbors wife because she would have screamed and run away!
