  1. make sure engine is grounded well and voltage at coil packs is appropriate when the problem occurs.. Those coil pack harnesses are generally pretty brittle if they havent been replaced.
  2. I see, you making a setup or buying one? I made one for my RB, definatly a cheaper route!
  3. Right on, curious to see how it performs. I should have my RB30 done soon, we have nearly identical setups minus turbo. Im going for around 900whp myself.
  4. Nice, what's your plan? Going to max it out? Those are good to around 900whp right..
  5. Oh thats gonna be a fabulous upgrade, 9174?
  6. What cams are you running? Im Finally building my RB30 this Winter, Current setup (RB25) made 800whp on 30psi should be pretty sweet with the RB30!
  7. No way that thing actually made nearly 800 ft lbs of torque on pump gas... something aint right there...
  8. Thats awesome power for pump gas no meth!! What cams are you running? Got a picture of the graph?
  9. 713whp? on 92/93 octane pump gas??? Assuming your on meth?
  10. Motor still running strong for you? You ever dyno it?

  13. LS coils work well, but a little more involved on the install. I'm using splitfire coils at .025 plug gap and 35psi and make 800whp without a hicup
  14. If you need 5 spare engines, your doing it wrong. I think the only reason you had issues was from Oil surge.. Fix that and your golden.. My motor has done quite a few passes, LOTS AND LOTS of street rape and daily driver duty over the last 6 years... its made between 420whp and 800whp its entire life, i have only had 1 issue with it ( due to my awesome tuning skills) lost a cheap cometic head gasket. I guess being that your already setup with an RB, i just don't understand the hassle your going to go thru swapping power plants.. Might be a little cheaper but worth the hassle?? Not in my eyes!!! But i suppose i'm Biased i have a hard on for RB engines..
  15. Sad, looks to be making some good power, especially for being thru an Auto.
  16. Meh, 2J's arent that cheap... Not when your already setup into an RB
  17. Pump gas sounds angry?? I think the additional fuel required with E85 makes the injectors work in a more desirable range, not sure what size your using, but anything under like 1.2ms at idle generally causes it to be a bit erratic, and that's with the new latest and greatest bosch ev14's You can counter act that some by opening the throttle plate more at idle allowing more air in.. if it idles to high pull timing back down to reduce idle speed.. just don't pull to much otherwise it will run hot at idle.
  18. Oil starvation is a real thing with RB's, oil pump cavitation is a good way to damage or progressively weaken the pump. I would put a baffled pan on anything with an aftermarket oil pump. My car would drop 50psi at 7000 rpm when it would hook on the street. So yeah 30ish psi oil pressure at 650+whp @7k rpm.. yikes same thing can happen when going around a corner.
  19. Ever plan on taking it to the drag strip?
  20. What Fuel was it tuned on? looks a little lean up top... The torque is crazy because the pickup on the dyno.. looks to be around 550 tq, which is still great
  21. Yeah, taking all that material off is going to effect cam timing too. looks like they might sit in a few thousands in the picture.. I dunno man, not sure i would have went that route, you took alot of "rebuildability" off that head. compression don't matter as much in a drag motor, just slam more boost down its throat
