  1. Can you elaborate on the design and how it relates to faliure?
  2. Steve, you don't mention what half shafts you are running. If you are using the halfshafts that use an inner CV's on both ends, I would bet that you are not using an end stop and have pulled one of the CV's out of the housing. Put the rear of the car up and feel around the boot on the CV's. One will feel different that the rest. Pull that shaft apart and inspect the inner lip of the CV housing. It will be deformed. THe opposite end will have an end cap that is deformed. If you are not using these shafts, check that stub axels. Let us know what you found
  3. Am I understanding your post correctly? A 1997 engine pulled from a 2000 vette? It sounds a little fishy already. 3 grand for the engine with no wiring harness or pcm sounds a bit high to me. Check ebay for comparison. Try Fbody salavge on ebay. You still need a tranny, wiring harness and pcm. Buy a complete takeout and save yourself headache and hassel. Or if you are really savy, do like a few members here have done and buy a complete car and part the rest. Good luck
  4. Don't buy cheap tie rods and ball joints. Call courtesy nissan and get those. If you pt the cheap stuff on the car you will be replacing it in a couple of years, if not sooner. jmho
  5. If Fedex ends up cutting me a check, I'll donate it to the Wind Tunnel cause. HybridZ will benefit from your efforts. THanks,
  6. On stock axels, only one end slides. This set up used two inboard CV's. They both allow the axel shaft to slide. I'm sure Ross would hook you up with a set of stops.
  7. Thanks but it is really not a big deal. Just wanted to others to understand what a slime ball this guy is.
  8. I read the directions and the max speed on these things is 4000 rpms. They work best at around 2000rpms +or- 200 rpms It would not be good to have this thing come apart in your face.
  9. Thanks Ernie! Bigger is better. I'll be shopping tommorow.
  10. Thats a great idea but I bet the moron at show cars could not grasp the concept.
  11. I bought a 3m product today, the eraser wheel or something like that. It is about the consistancy of the gummy erasers I used in grade school. I was very skeptical of putting this to my paint. I started on the spoiler, I can get a take off part the same color as the car for about a 100 bucks so it seemed like a good place to start. I followed the directions and it was amazing. It did not even skuff the clear coat. Neat product. One foot gone, 30 more feet to go................ Thanks guys.
  12. Thanks for the replys guys. I'll try anything once................
  13. Fedex would not let me file a claim without a letter from the seller saying he was asigning me the claim or some such BS. Said the shipper had to file the claim.
  14. I'm trying to pull some 10 inch wide strips off an 05 mustang that look like a 12 year old put them on the car. I've been using a heat gun and my finger nails and an assortment of plastic scrapers. At this rate the car will be an antique by the time I'm finished. Does anyone have any experience or tips for doing this? I need help! Thanks
  15. Fedex lost the package, I'm guessing there was really some sort of part in there. I'll never know. Calls and emails to SHowcars have gone unanswered. Maybe I'll send another email, like it will do some good. I knew better going in.
  16. And I've done both a couple of times. The axel will walk to one end, punch thru the grease cap and pull the balls out of the opposite side CV.
  17. John says it all. I've seen him show the tail lights to many high performance cars and I've done the same. John runs a carbed V8 that is a monster and I've got an lt-1. Both are 240Z's. Name a stock production car and one of us has probably ran away from it. Of course all of this is on the track. Neither one of us would ever break the speed limit on public roads. When you start moding Z06's Vipers, GT3's etc, it's another story!
  18. If you only have 2 I would put them on the inboard side. Out board ones were only needed at a road course HPDE. Never had a problem on the street from needing an outboard stop.
  19. I've got them on both ends of the axel. Problems arise with out them. THe axel will walk and pull the CV out of the housing. It happened more frequently with the axel moving inboard and pulling the outer CV out of the housing. I did have it happen once or twice with the axel moving outboard. THe stops solved this issue.
  20. Thanks Mike, That was very enjoyable!
  21. Search . http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=95493 Red connector on the ecu, white wire.
  22. I can't put my hands on my Speartech papers. Anyone know what color the tach output is? I think it's white but the label has fallen off.
